Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: My Wife Chases Me Again!

The night passed without incident, and by the next morning, Sophie Quinn was already dressed in a sleek navy pantsuit, ready for business.

At exactly 10:00 AM, she arrived with her professional team at the towering headquarters of the Wolfe Group, one of the largest and most influential corporations in the medical tech industry.

As she stepped out of her car, a round-faced middle-aged man with a noticeable beer belly walked briskly to greet her. His eyes lit up the moment he recognized her.

"Miss Sophie Quinn, I presume? President of Quinn Medical?" he beamed. "You're even more elegant than the rumors say! It's a real pleasure to meet you! I'm Martin Yang, Director of Marketing at Wolfe Group."

Sophie offered him a graceful smile and extended her hand. "Nice to meet you, Director Yang."

Their handshake was cordial and confident—two professionals acknowledging mutual respect. Martin Yang then ushered Sophie and her team into the building and led them to a private conference room with panoramic views of the city.

After exchanging pleasantries over tea, the meeting got down to business.

"President Quinn," Director Yang began with a friendly tone, "Young Master Wolfe has already informed us of your request. Per his instructions, we've prepared the credit contract for the purchase of your medical equipment. The interest will match the current rate of a bank loan—no hidden fees, no tricks."

Sophie reviewed the documents carefully. Her sharp eyes scanned each page. After a few moments, she gave a nod of approval. "Everything looks in order. Let's proceed."

Martin smiled in relief. "Glad to hear that! Additionally, we've already begun the dispatch process. The equipment will arrive at your hospital by tomorrow and can be calibrated the day after. You'll be fully operational within 48 hours."

Sophie's eyes widened. "That's… incredibly fast!"

Ordinarily, deliveries of this scale—especially involving advanced medical equipment—took at least a week. Shipping, installation, and technical debugging were complicated and time-consuming. But Wolfe Group was clearly pulling strings to expedite the process.

"It's all thanks to Young Master Wolfe's instructions," Martin explained proudly. "He said the sooner your hospital is equipped, the sooner you'll relieve financial pressure and resume operations at full speed."

Warmth filled Sophie's heart. This wasn't just business—it was kindness.

Martin continued, "One more thing. If you're unsure what to do with your current batch of outdated equipment, our company can take it off your hands. We'll offer a competitive price—no haggling, no hassle."

Sophie's eyes lit up. "Really? That would be an enormous help!"

Old medical equipment couldn't just be discarded like household junk. It required specialized recycling through certified facilities, and only a few companies in the country held that certification. Those companies often used their monopoly to force terrible deals.

Until now, Sophie's team had been unable to negotiate a fair price, and the outdated machines had been taking up space and draining resources.

Martin waved a hand. "There's no reason to lie to you, President Quinn. If you agree, we can send a crew this afternoon to handle removal and valuation."

"I'd appreciate that very much. Thank you, Director Yang. And please extend my gratitude to Young Master Wolfe."

Martin smiled wryly. "Speaking of him… you won't find him here. He rarely arrives before noon."

Sophie raised an eyebrow. "Late riser?"

"Very much so," Martin said with a laugh. "He technically holds an executive position here, but everyone knows he doesn't show up before lunch. The chairman and madam are constantly worried about his future."

Sophie couldn't help but chuckle, covering her mouth with a manicured hand. "Well, I've seen another side of him lately. Maybe it's all just part of his charm."

"I hope so," Martin sighed.

With the paperwork signed, equipment approved, and logistics in motion, Sophie and her team left Wolfe Group headquarters, mission accomplished.

It had all gone so smoothly, she felt light on her feet.

As her car pulled away from the building, Sophie pulled out her phone and sent a message.

Sophie Quinn:

I visited your company today. Everything went perfectly. Thank you!

Rayden Wolfe:

You're welcome! [smiley.jpg]

Sophie Quinn:

Huh? You're replying so quickly? Aren't you usually sleeping at this hour?

Rayden Wolfe:

Couldn't sleep. I've been annoyed lately.

Sophie Quinn:

Annoyed? About what?

Rayden Wolfe:

Money problems! I've been so broke lately, I can't even treat myself properly.

Sophie Quinn:

You? Broke? You're the heir of the Wolfe family!

Rayden Wolfe:

That's exactly the problem! My parents froze my bank card because I kept spending too much on "nonsense." I've only got… less than a million in my account now. I can barely survive. [crying.jpg]

Sophie Quinn:

Well, I can't say you don't deserve it. [smiling.jpg]

Rayden Wolfe:

Sophie Quinn:

If you're really struggling so badly, let me buy you dinner. Just dinner though. Don't get any funny ideas!

Rayden Wolfe:

Funny ideas? I don't understand what you mean! I just graduated from kindergarten 180 months ago! [innocent.jpg]

Sophie Quinn:

Sophie Quinn:

Stop pretending! Just say yes or no. [angry.jpg]

Rayden Wolfe:

Yes! I humbly accept.

Rayden Wolfe:

From now on, Miss Quinn, I'm yours. Please be gentle with me!

Sophie Quinn:

Rayden grinned as he tossed his phone onto the couch.

The conversation was playful, flirtatious—and more importantly, a clear sign that the dynamic between them had shifted.

In the original storyline, Sophie Quinn had slowly distanced herself from Caleb Chen after repeated disappointments. But this time, Rayden had rewritten the beginning of the tale. And if he could keep steering the narrative his way, Caleb would never recover the momentum.

Not after the rib-breaking embarrassment from the day before.

Not after being left on a hospital bed while Rayden shared late-night banter with the girl he loved.

Yes, things were going very well indeed.

But the game had only just begun.
