Never in his life has Leonard felt so insulted.
He was utterly speechless, as he continued to gaze at Katie until she was out of sight.
Katie arrived at Violet's school just in time, the bell signifying the inception of class had just rang.
She squatted to Violet level and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Be a good girl for me, mum is sorry that she didn't buy you ice cream, you will get some and lots of chocolate when I return." Katie's said trying to hold back the tears in her eyes.
Just a few moments ago Violet was almost runned over by a car because of her carelessness. What would she have done if anything had happened to her daughter?
The answer was Simple she would have done what she wanted to do five years ago. She would have hanged herself, or jumped off a cliff to end her miserable life, but she didn't because she had Violet.
When Violet came into this world Katie felt like the happiest on earth woman . Just holding Violet in her hands after a few hours she was born filled her with so much joy.
She had thought she would not be able to live with the child she got through wedlock but she was wrong. Every bit of her heart longed to see Violet grow and become an adult.
This was the only reason she had to continue living, and it pushed her to be the best version of herself everyday. She would do anything to protect Violet, she wanted nothing but the best for her daughter.
Simply out of excuses to give the teacher for Violet tardiness, Katherine simply handed the latter over to her teacher and turned around to leave.
Today Violet didn't wave at her, or remind her to buy goodies when coming as usual, the latter must have been traumatized about what happened this morning.
Katie took a taxi and made her way to her place of work. Immediately she got there she changed into her waitress uniform and as usual it was skimpy.
It barely covered her hips, the short skirt stopped at her thighs. Katie felt like screaming her lungs out, she looked like a slut.
The back of the waitress uniform was exposed and the front if the uniform exposed her clevages. After putting on the dress Katie stayed in the dressing room for a while and weeped. She cried her eyes out, this was the same job she had taken years ago that left her traumatized.
Now here she was again stuck at this same job, her hands were tied she could do nothing about it. For years she had tried to hide from her family after she was disowned by her father, life became so unbearable.
She had planned to follow her dreams and become a model, but after finding out she was pregnant with Violet she had to drop the idea for a while.
After giving birth to Violet Katie felt she was out of shape so she didn't chase after her dreams of becoming a model. Instead she decided to stick to fashion designing, it was one of the things she loved doing apart from modelling.
She had submitted so may letters seeking for a job in topnotch fashion industries, she tried as much as possible to hide her identify. So she changed her surname and put a fake one, in every letter she wrote there was a different surname attached to her name.
But time and time again, her letters got rejected. She couldn't find a lucrative job, so she decided to take on the job of a waitress in a five star restaurant.
Katie finally stepped out of the dressing room and maid her way to the kitchen where she was handed over a tray of food to serve to the customers. This was the job that kept Katie out till late at night, she worked tiredlessly just to support Winnie in paying the house bills and to also cater for Violet needs.
Immediately Katie was handed over a tray a food by the chefs in the kitchen. Her job was to distribute it round to the assigned tables.
Although the job was enervating, she got paid a reasonable amount of salary because it was a five star hotel, just the thought of that gave Katie enough reason to continue with this despicable job.
Katie made her way to the first table, she placed what they ordered on the table and was about to leave when one of the men gripped her wrist tightly.
"What a sexy slut you are." The man's eyes scrutinized every part of Katie's exposed body. Katie felt disgusted, it was as if he could see her naked.
She snatched her hand away from his grip and was about to leave when another man on the table caught her by the short waitress uniform she was wearing and dragged her to himself.
He placed his hands on her hips and caressed them. "Name your price darling, how much will it take to spend a night with you? The fat man with a chubby face said his hands making his way to Katie's thighs.
"Don't do this please." Katie pleaded as tears stung her eyes. It was part of the job to try and seduce a customer with the skimpy uniform she was wearing. This always got wealthy men on their knees as they would become provocated by what the waitresses where wore.
There was a hotel attached to the restaurant, if the customers wanted to sleep with the waitress they paid extra for the service. It was a disdainful job, the owner of the restaurant was a cunning person to have thought all this through.
Refusing a customer want they want meant losing their jobs. For almost five years Katie had worked in this horrible place. For some reason she had always managed to escape the clutches of customers like this.
Other waitresses would jump at such opportunity and get their selves acquainted with wealthy men. Some of them even end up being chosen as the customer's play toy and earned money from doing so, so they quit their waitress job.
Most of the time Katie would purposely avoid lustful customers by handing over the tray of food to another waitress. She was always picky about the table she chose to deliver food to. She always had her eyes roaming around the colossal restaurant searching for a decent customer to serve food to.
Most of the other waitresses would gladly take over from Katie, they thought she was foolish to skip such an opportunity. While taking the tray of food from the chef, the chef had told Katie the table where the food was ordered from. She was probably too lost in thought to consider the customers sitting at that table.
"Sir I am a married woman, please don't do these." Katie lied thinking it will make the customer change his mind, but he exclaimed….
"Marvellous, then I am sure will know some sex position." He was simply not ashamed to utter such nonsense.
Katie felt utterly nauseated by his words…."Get your hands off me!
She snapped, yanking the hands of the man away, she then walked away. There was rivulets of sweat trickling down her face as she made her way to the kitchen.
Her heart pounded against her chest as she began to regret ever treating a wealthy customer that way. Katie was lost in thoughts when a waitress walked up to her.
"Madam Gina has summoned you." The waitress said gazing at Katie with disdain. She felt that Katie was always proving difficult, why wouldn't she just give the customers what they want?
Immediately Katie heard what the waitress said and her heart missed a beat. In all her five years she has never gotten in trouble with her boss Gina.
Being summoned by her meant two things, either she was losing her job, or getting a strict penalty for going against the rules.
As Katie took the elevator to the top floor where Gina's office was located, her heart raced. When she got to the top floor she stepped out of the elevator and made her way to Gina's office which was across the elevator.
She knocked gently on the glass door of the office. "Come in." A calm voice responded.
Katie nudged the door open and the first thing her gaze fell on was the multiple screens in Gina's office. Katie was simply stunned, all this time Gina has been keeping her eyes on the restaurant from up here.
There were hidden CCTV cameras everywhere in the restaurant and Katie was never aware of it until now.
"First of all…", Gina who was sitted on a office chair started off calmly.
"Whatever you have seen stays in this room, if I hear a word about it, I will make sure I track you down and eliminate you." Gina had the cocky voice any boss would.
'I promise I won't say a words about it." Katie quickly said turning to gaze at Gina.
"Good! Gina exclaimed rising to her feet.
"Katie! Katie! Katie! She cooed walking up to Katie in a sexy manner, she used to be stripper in her prime and slowly she climbed her way up the ladder using the money she extorted from men. Everybody who knew Gina knew her story by heart.
"All this years I have been watching it has been nothing but a pain in the back. Always going against my orders, proving to be the wise fox." Gina circled Katie but suddenly stopped and gripped her by the jaw.
"Tell me Katie why have you decided to give my customer a hard time, huh? Gina questioned penetrating Katie with her gaze. It turns out she had seen how Katie rejected the customer's approach three times!
"I….I am sorry boss it will never happen again." Katie said remorsefully her breathing pace getting rapid.
"It doesn't really matter now does it?
"You know the rules Katie, no one comes to my office and goes scout free."Gina said releasing her grip on Katie's face, she made her way back to her office chair and sat
on it, then crossed her legs elegantly.
"Katie you are fired!
