My words came out more harshly than I intended. Damian seemed to lower his gaze as they echoed throughout the room.
I hadn't intended to bring him to my apartment, but I couldn't risk letting him loose either. After all, if one public figure can shamble Lucrezia's leftover reputation, that's Damian— the future in law and the pregnant future wife of her nephew.
I massaged my temples trying to calm down. He is not wrong— saving him from Lucrezia and bringing him inside my home sure it's an insane thing to do.

"Look, blondie, you can yell and trash around as much as you like. I just gotta keep you safe until you give birth."
