Blazar felt warm. A warm body pressed beside her, foreign yet inviting. The smell was familiar, like a certain deja vu that made her heart skip without reason, sending tiny sparks of recognition through her sleepy mind.
She found herself curling into the warmth, seeking more of it like a moth drawn to flame. Her body moved without conscious thought, pressing closer to the source of heat that felt like home and danger all at once.
Then a chuckle woke her up, the sound rumbling through the chest she was nestled against.
"Xeari!" she gasped, bolting upright so fast that her head spun. "What the hell! Where the hell am I?"
Xeari smiled, his grey eyes twinkling with pure amusement as he watched her panic. "I didn't mean to wake you up. I just found myself laughing."
His grin widened, showing perfect white teeth. "I mean, the defiant, sharp-mouthed Orion curling up and looking vulnerable and cute is such a rare sight."
