Vyne's grin turned razor-edged. "It's a mating ritual. Drive something sharp through his heart, let your blood spill into the wound. If he's been finding your blood...enticing, you're bound for life."
The words struck like a physical blow. Heat flooded Blazar's cheeks as her own careless threat echoed in her mind - "I swear I'll pierce your heart." Vesper's answering smirk had been far too knowing.
