Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Final Crown – Rise from the Ashes

Imperial Crown Ruins – One Week Later

The once-mighty Lu Empire lay quiet under the golden glow of the setting sun.

Selina stood at the heart of the ruins, the winds carrying away the last traces of blood and smoke.

Her fingers brushed over the cold, broken remnants of the empire sign, her expression unreadable. She wore black—mourning, but not defeated. Her eyes, though tired, held a newfound power.

By her side, Damian sat in a wheelchair, pale but alive. His eyes never left her, filled with admiration and quiet pain.

So much was lost. So much blood had been spilled. But through the ashes, something new could be born.

She had fought for love. For family. For survival. And in the end, she had found all three—scarred, imperfect, but real.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, she stood taller than ever before, wings forged not from flames—but from every tear she'd shed and every scar she bore.

Scene Switch – Private Funeral for Adrian

The rain fell softly as a small, somber crowd gathered.

Their mother stood in silence, a single white lily in her trembling hands.

Selina approached, placing her own lily beside Adrian's grave. Her lips moved in a silent prayer, eyes closing briefly to bury the final remnants of hatred.

Some debts were paid not with blood, but with forgiveness. And sometimes… letting go was the hardest battle of all.

Scene Switch – Damian's Recovery Room

Damian reached out, his fingers gently intertwining with Selina's.

His grip was weak, but his smile was genuine for the first time in years.

"We survived, Selina…" His voice cracked. "But what now?"

Selina turned to the window, watching the sun break through the heavy clouds for the first time in weeks.

The empire they once knew was gone. But from its ruins, she would build something new—stronger, freer, and hers.

Just as she turned back to Damian, a sleek black car pulled up outside.

An unfamiliar man stepped out, dressed impeccably in a three-piece suit, a signet ring glinting ominously under the sunlight.

He handed her a sealed letter marked with the insignia of a foreign empire.

"Miss Jiang," he said with a knowing smile, "The true game… is just beginning."

Selina's eyes narrowed, her fingers tightening around the letter.

"Let them come."
