....

Tyranitar was enraged...

Caleb and Dragonite immediately turned and flew toward Centiskorch's location, with Tyranitar hot on their heels, determined to crush them.

On the ground, Walter frowned as he watched the retreating Tyranitar, asking in disbelief, "Is he... luring it away for us?"

Drake stared at the raging fire in the west, pondering for a long moment before speaking, "Let's follow them."

Walter hesitated, "Are you sure? Our Pokémon are almost out of stamina..."

Drake shot him a look, "Then stay here by yourself."

Walter immediately backtracked with an awkward laugh, "On second thought, let's go check it out!"

Who knew if another max-level Gigantamax Pokémon might appear? Staying alone was practically suicide...

Drake turned to Tristan, then asked, "What do you think, Trey?"

Tristan watched Tyranitar's figure disappear into the darkness, frowning.

Then he replied, "Our Pokémon don't have much energy left. Forget whether we can even make it there... what if we run into another Gigantamax Pokémon on the way? That would be disastrous."

Compared to that, staying here was much safer.

Tyranitar were extremely territorial Pokémon. Rarely would other powerful Pokémon appear within their domain.

Hearing this, Drake's expression darkened, "Great. Fine then. If you won't go, I'll go alone!"

Tristan tried to dissuade him, "Come on bro, enough already."

Drake spat, "Enough my ass! He helps you once, and now you're taking his side? After all the times I've helped you in previous Instance runs? Why don't you count those?!"

Tristan's frown deepened, "If you're going to be like this, then there's no point talking. Drake, I'm not an idiot. I'm human! And humans should know how to repay kindness! Tell me, why do you really want to go over there? Isn't it just because you can't stand Terrence's actions? Honestly, I don't think I'm a good person either. But you're worse than me! I've been your dog for so many Instance runs, I've repaid everything I owed you. From now on, we're even!"

"Great then! Walter, let's go man. Leave him here by himself!" Drake stormed off angrily.

Walter glanced between him and Tristan, then ultimately decided to follow Drake...

....

~Western Zone~

Having completed his goal, Caleb flew high above with Dragonite and Riolu, watching the new battle between Gigantamax and Dynamax Pokémon unfold below...

Like Centiskorch earlier, this Dynamax Tyranitar was immediately drawn to the fire-spreading Centiskorch upon entering the western zone.

When two hot-tempered Pokémon clashed, it was like a meteor striking the earth. The battle ignited instantly.

Centiskorch reared up, elevating itself to Tyranitar's eye level. The patterns on its abdomen glowed as it gathered intense flames in its maw.

Instead of using Max Rockfall, Tyranitar simply charged at Centiskorch with its massive body.

Even in its normal form, Tyranitar was renowned for its physical strength and durability, let alone in its Gigantamax state.

Tyranitar slammed into Centiskorch head-on, the tremendous impact interrupting its attack and pinning it to the ground, where it proceeded to maul the fiery centipede relentlessly.

Caleb was stunned at the sight.

Was this Tyranitar's fighting style always this brutal? No moves... just physically dismantling a Gigantamax Centiskorch with its bare hands?

Sure, Rock-type moves were super effective against Fire-types, but this was ridiculous!

Yet the scene unfolding before him forced Caleb to admit that it really was this ridiculous.

Centiskorch had already expended some stamina in its earlier battle against Gigantamax Butterfree. Now, being pinned and pummeled by Tyranitar, it quickly succumbed, its eyes rolling back as it fainted.

With that, the Gigantamax Pokémon of the eastern, northern, and western zones had all been dealt with.

Now, all that remained was this Dynamax Tyranitar and the Gigantamax Lapras in the sea. Once they were handled, the main quest would be complete!

Just then, dark clouds gathered overhead, and a torrential downpour began without warning.

Caleb hurriedly brought Dragonite and Riolu back to the ground to take shelter.

The Dynamax Tyranitar stood triumphantly in the rain, roaring at the sky like a conquering king.

Caleb returned to the waterfall cave where Luna had stayed earlier.

Dawn had yet to break. Curling up against Dragonite with Riolu's fluffy body in his arms, he drifted into a deep sleep...

...

~Day Six~

When he awoke, the rain had stopped, and daylight had returned...

Food supplies were nearly exhausted. Combined with the forest being ravaged by fire, it took Caleb a long time to find an untouched fruit tree.

At this rate, they wouldn't die to Dynamax/Gigantamax Pokémon. They'd more likely starve to death first.

They had to speed things up...

Caleb distributed the berries to Riolu and Dragonite as he pondered this.

Tonight would mark the beginning of the final battle. Caleb wasn't confident about luring that Gigantamax Lapras ashore. If he failed, it would mean facing Tyranitar head-on.

Kanto's pseudo-legendary versus Johto's pseudo-legendary...

Honestly, Caleb thought it'd be tough. Against a Rock/Dark-type Tyranitar, Dragonite's Fire, Normal, and Flying-type moves would only deal half damage.

If damage numbers were displayed, those attacks would probably show up as rows of 'Not Very Effective'.

"Wuu!" Noticing Caleb's furrowed brow, Dragonite patted his shoulder reassuringly.

Riolu stood guard beside him like a loyal knight.

Caleb glanced at Riolu thoughtfully. If he recalled correctly, Tyranitar had a 4x weakness to Fighting-type moves. If Riolu and Dragonite could coordinate perfectly, their chances of defeating Tyranitar would increase significantly.

But even if player Pokémon could gain EXP through battles, Caleb doubted Riolu could reach a level capable of challenging Tyranitar in such a short time.

That kind of training would demand extreme physical endurance and willpower from a Pokémon...

Sensing his hesitation, Riolu looked up at him questioningly.

Caleb shook his head, shelving the idea for now. They'd cross that bridge after tonight.

With the western zone's crisis resolved, he had no reason to stay. He returned to the eastern camp with Dragonite and Riolu...

...

After two days away, the cave was coated in a layer of dust...

Sandshrew and Marill were gone too, likely returned to their original habitats.

Caleb took the Caterpie-silk blanket outside to air on the wooden rack, while Dragonite balanced the iron pot on its head to fetch water from a river kilometers away.

After a quick cleanup, Caleb and Riolu ventured into the forest to forage for food.

Compared to Caleb, who was still new to wilderness survival, Riolu was far more familiar with the wild.

Understanding his intent, Riolu silently took the lead...
