Chapter 98: In the Infinite Hell!
Extending a bit, Buggy would use his ability to crush it into powder, which would then scatter.
Since he couldn't create too much dust at once, Buggy could only lead Marigold forward slowly. It took a full hour for the two of them, one after the other, to reach the bottom of the elevator shaft.
Looking at the endless, pitch-black abyss, Marigold subconsciously tightened her grip on Buggy's hand.
"Don't worry, we'll reach our destination soon," after speaking, Buggy carried Marigold on his back and then, using his ability to create climbing steps on the wall of the elevator shaft, he headed downwards.
After spending a full half-hour creating an ascension ladder that could be used for a round trip, Buggy's feet finally landed on the ground. They had finally arrived at the sixth level of the great underwater prison, Impel Down—the Infinite Hell.
Using the same method as when he entered the elevator shaft, Buggy once again used his ability to open a passage leading out from a corner next to the main gate of the elevator. However, compared to pushing forward before, this time Buggy didn't need to patiently pull backwards. He directly turned all the stone blocks into particles slightly larger than sand. Soon, a diagonally upward passage appeared before Buggy and Marigold.
Coming out of the passage, Buggy took out his compass and looked at it, then directly picked up Marigold and walked up a spiral staircase next to the elevator.
"Brother Buggy, why are we going up again?" Marigold asked Buggy in a whisper.
"We need to go to the guard room first, otherwise, it will definitely cause a commotion later. Besides, if we reach an agreement, we'll need keys to open the cell doors and shackles, right? Then, he found what he was looking for in the guard room. After doing all this, Buggy once again took Marigold's hand and went down into the sixth level, the Infinite Hell.
He still didn't reveal his body, but this time Buggy didn't deliberately control his footsteps. This immediately attracted the attention of the numerous prisoners.
This wasn't Buggy's goal; it was just that he knew he would attract attention sooner or later, so he simply didn't bother to soften his footsteps.
Having checked the layout of the Infinite Hell and the list of prisoners and their cells in the guard room, Buggy led Marigold straight to his destination.
A few minutes later, they stopped in front of a standard-looking cell.
"Who?" a deep voice came from within the cell.
"Does it matter who?" Buggy replied in a calm voice.
"Indeed. Who it is doesn't matter. What matters is what you want. Or rather, what business do you have with me?" The deep voice sounded again, and accompanying it were the various noises of the nearby prisoners who had heard Buggy's voice.
"All of you, shut up! After I'm done talking, if I'm in a good mood, I might throw you the keys to open your cells. But if you're still so noisy, then you can just stay locked up here until you're executed."
It had to be said, Buggy's threat was very effective. Especially when it came to whether everyone could break out of prison, everyone quieted down in unison.
"I am looking for companions. I happened to hear about you. I feel that a man like you shouldn't be locked up here waiting for execution or to die of old age. What do you think?" Buggy said again to the person in the cell.
"I don't think there's anything to talk about with someone whose face I can't see," the deep voice sounded again.
"My apologies, it was my impoliteness." Buggy did not have Marigold deactivate her ability, but merely let go of her hand, allowing his own form to appear.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Buggy, and I am the captain of the Red Nose Pirates," Buggy first made a self-introduction.
"This is truly unexpectedly shocking. I never thought a figure like you would risk such a great danger to come to this sunless place to see me." The deep voice was now filled with surprise and delight.
Indeed, it was hard to imagine that someone like Buggy, who was currently causing a sensation in the world, would suddenly appear in the Infinite Hell on the sixth level of the great underwater prison, Impel Down, for the sole purpose of inviting him.
If the person in the cell said he wasn't pleased with himself, he would definitely be lying.
"I hear Hawkeye is on your ship?" Before Buggy could say anything, the deep voice came again.
"That's right," nodding, Buggy didn't understand why this guy was asking about Mihawk.
"I hear you know a lot about Devil Fruits?" the deep voice asked again.
"I suppose so. Definitely much more than an ordinary person," Buggy didn't know what this guy was trying to say and just replied casually.
"Then is there a Devil Fruit that can increase one's strength by more than ten times after eating it?" the deep voice sounded again.
"Hmm... there certainly could be, but it wouldn't necessarily be easy to find. But we can try," Buggy pondered for a moment and then replied.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let me out! I can't wait to have another good fight with that guy Hawkeye!" The deep voice finally began to rise, becoming filled with fighting spirit.
"Don't be in such a hurry. I haven't told you my rules yet. First, there can be no betrayal between companions. Second, we share fortune and misfortune together. Can you accept this, Shiliew of the Rain?" Buggy asked Shiliew of the Rain.
"No problem," walking to the edge of the cage, Shiliew looked at Buggy, nodded, and replied solemnly.
"Then welcome aboard." After speaking, Buggy took out the keys, opened the cell door, then unlocked Shiliew's shackles, and finally handed his sword to him.
Unlike the unlucky guard from a few years later, Buggy was not met with a sword slash to the neck from the newly freed Shiliew. Instead, he followed Buggy out of the cell.
"Let's go!" After saying this to Marigold, the figures of Buggy and Shiliew simultaneously disappeared from the eyes of the surrounding prisoners.
"Hey, hey! The guy called Red Nose! You promised us! You have to let us out! You can't go back on your promise!" the surrounding prisoners immediately started shouting.
