Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Can't You Be a Bit More Well-Behaved?

Su Lie looked thoroughly pleased. This daughter of his finally didn't seem so annoying.

See? She's working now.

Who would dare say his daughter was lazy?

Su Xiyue had no idea what Su Lie was thinking. If she knew, she'd probably laugh herself to death — washing a beast pelt and calling that "not lazy"?

She ignored the stunned expressions of the surrounding beastmen.

She focused solely on drying the beast skin.

By the time she finished, all the beastmen gathered in the square had transformed into their true forms.

A glance around revealed nothing but wolves of every color.

There were snow-white arctic wolves, jet-black wolves as dark as ink, as well as gray, brown, and mottled ones…

Some were large, some small, all with distinct shapes, but every single one looked majestic and fierce—brimming with raw savagery.

Su Xiyue roughly counted at least a hundred wolves.

Her father, Su Lie, had also transformed into a mighty gray wolf, his size noticeably larger than all the others present. His sharp, icy eyes looked downright intimidating.

She swallowed nervously and subtly took a couple of steps back, putting more distance between herself and the giant wolf.

Though she knew it was her father and that he wouldn't harm her, her instinct still triggered fear.

That wolf simply looked too fierce.

Su Lie's gaze locked onto her the moment he turned into a wolf. Seeing her retreat, a flash of displeasure crossed his eyes.

What's this? Afraid?

Did this damn thing forget who gave birth to her?

He approached Ye Ling, opening his wolf jaws and speaking human words: "Ye Ling, Xiyue's yours now. Take her with you."

Without waiting for Ye Ling's response, Su Lie turned to Su Xiyue, making it abundantly clear she was to get on Ye Ling's back.

Su Xiyue's mouth twitched hard. Why did it feel like she was being pimped out?

The original Su Xiyue was deeply infatuated with Ye Ling and often used her father's position to make Ye Ling do this and that.

She even made Ye Ling carry her on his back, hold her.

Ye Ling detested the original girl to no end. If not for Su Lie, he would have crushed her long ago.

Su Lie naturally understood his daughter's mindset. Even though he disliked and was dissatisfied with her, she was his blood, and he would do his utmost to help her.

Su Xiyue didn't refuse her father's kindness and looked over at Ye Ling.

She saw he had already transformed into his true form—a massive wolf with sleek silver fur.

He was about twice the size of an ordinary wolf, over two meters long and nearly a meter tall. His fur was as white as snow, and his strange silver eyes were icy and sharp, yet strangely captivating.

Standing in the square, he looked imposing, powerful, and undeniably handsome.

No wonder the original girl liked him so much.

Without hesitation, Su Xiyue swiftly climbed onto Ye Ling's back before he could react and sat down.

Mmm, the wolf's fur was really soft and smooth, comfortable to touch, and sitting was stable—no fear of falling off at all.

Ye Ling's body jolted, and he glanced back at her, his eyes cold and fierce, flickering with a violent aura.

He actually let this ugly female sit on him?

Crazy.

Ye Ling wanted to throw her off, but thinking this was the leader's order, he reluctantly endured it.

Fine, he'd just treat her like a burden. Once they entered the forest, he'd toss her somewhere.

Seeing everyone ready, Su Lie's authoritative voice echoed ahead: "Let's move out."

He spoke human words.

Then, with a leap, his wolf form dashed out of the tribe at incredible speed, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

Ye Ling reined in his thoughts, swiftly following with wolf legs, moving just as fast.

The rest of the beastmen trailed behind.

Mia stood not far away, watching the large group depart. Her gaze locked tightly onto the disappearing figure of Su Xiyue, eyes filled with hatred.

That ugly, lazy, wicked female had awakened a special ability and was even allowed by the leader to go hunting.

Now she was sitting on Ye Ling's back—truly despicable.

Why her? Why?

Mia clenched her silver teeth so hard it looked like they might break. Her hands, hanging by her sides, balled into fists. Sharp nails dug deep into her palms, yet she felt no pain.

Her eyes darkened like a cold poisonous snake, fixed relentlessly on the direction Su Xiyue had vanished.

Meanwhile, Su Xiyue, sitting on Ye Ling's back, felt the jolts from the running wolf beneath her but harbored little fear.

Instead, this galloping sensation made her excited and exhilarated.

Everything before her eyes was surreal and magical.

She gently stroked Ye Ling's fur and had to admit—it was incredibly comfortable. Soft, smooth, far better than any blanket she'd ever used.

She loved it.

Ye Ling felt the touch on his back again, his body shuddering violently, nearly throwing her off.

He turned back, icy silver wolf eyes blazing with cruelty, glaring at her like a warning.

Su Xiyue's mouth twitched. Internally, she was speechless.

This dog of a man—she only touched his fur a couple of times. Was that so disgusting?

And he had the nerve to glare at her?

She pouted but stopped touching, gripping tightly onto the fur on his back to keep from falling off.

Seeing the ugly female finally settle down and stop messing with him, Ye Ling's cold, violent gaze softened somewhat.

Mo Lin had transformed into a huge black python, over ten meters long. His massive body and cold vertical pupils were terrifying.

Watching the scene ahead, his eyes flickered strangely. Without warning, he slithered beside Su Xiyue.

Then coiled up, encircling her on the wolf's back.

"Ah… help…"

Suddenly trapped by the giant python, Su Xiyue screamed in fright, instinctively clutching Ye Ling's neck tightly.

Her voice was loud and pressed close to Ye Ling's back.

The scream rang clearly in Ye Ling's ears, making his wolf ears buzz.

His face darkened, fur bristling all over. His wolf eyes flared with savagery again, nearly throwing her off.

This damn ugly female—can't she behave even a little?

Su Xiyue realized she'd gone too far, still clutching Ye Ling's neck, practically hanging on him.

Embarrassed, she loosened her grip, switching to grabbing the fur on his back instead, and forced out a nervous laugh: "Sorry, I didn't mean to…"

She really couldn't appreciate snakes. At her core, she was terrified of them. It wasn't her fault.

Mo Lin was also stunned by her reaction, a trace of confusion flickering in his vertical pupils.

Was he really that terrifying?

How come no other female had ever been this afraid of him before?

He stared at Su Xiyue for quite a long moment.

Then, twisting his body, he shrank a little and coiled himself around Ye Ling's wolf form. He then stretched out his snake head, his cold vertical pupils fixed on her as if appraising her.

Su Xiyue felt her scalp tingle under that gaze, her whole body uneasy. She could only do her best to ignore it.

Mo Lin's true form was truly unsettling—she wasn't sure when she'd get used to it.

Ye Ling, meanwhile, was growing increasingly irritated by Mo Lin's behavior. He couldn't help but speak human words in a cold tone, "Mo Lin, let go immediately."

What the hell was this damn snake clinging to him for?

If the situation weren't inconvenient right now, he would've dealt a harsh blow to this black snake.

But Mo Lin ignored him completely, continuing to coil around Ye Ling's wolf body as if he didn't exist. His cold vertical pupils never left Su Xiyue, still watching her with curiosity—as if wondering why she was so afraid of him.

Seeing that Mo Lin had completely disregarded his words, Ye Ling's wolf face darkened fully. His fur bristled, and he gave off faint signs of losing control.

That damn stinky snake...
