During the battle between the Whitebeard Pirates and the Marines, and while Luffy was advancing toward saving Ace, Goku and Vegeta stood in front of him.

Vegeta: "Because the people from this universe know him, that means he's also from this universe, you fool!"
Goku: "But I want to fight him! Everyone is fighting here!"
Vegeta: "Did you forget?! We shouldn't fight anyone from this universe.. We only need to eliminate the two people who have Ki energy from our universe.."
While Vegeta was speaking, one of the pirates jumped and tried to strike him with his sword, saying: "Go to hell, you Marine scum!!"
But Vegeta shot a Ki blast from his hand, destroying the pirate who attempted to attack him.

Goku: "But you killed 64 people from this universe!"
Vegeta: "They attacked me first!"

Vegeta: "Wait, Trunks.. Maybe this person is not the one we're looking for.."

Akainu, looking at Luffy, said: "Grandson of the Marine hero Garp.. and son of the revolutionary Dragon! I will dispose of you myself!"
Luffy glared angrily at Akainu.
Sengoku, thinking to himself, said: "It seems that this boy has made Akainu stray from the main plan.."
Ace, watching Luffy, said in fear: "Luffy.."
Akainu began to slowly advance toward Luffy, saying: "We are in the middle of a war with the world's strongest man. But, this is a good chance to eliminate someone who will pose a great threat in the future!"

The pirates: "Look! Admiral Akainu and Admiral Kizaru are standing in front of Straw Hat!"
Marco, smiling beside Whitebeard, said: "It seems Ace's brother's Haki has caught their attention."
While Whitebeard stared at the hat on Luffy's back, he said: "Boy.. the Straw Hat you have looks very much like the one the red-haired one wore."
Luffy: "Yes.. I told you before that Shanks entrusted it to me."
Whitebeard, surprised, said: "Huh? Have we met before?"

A destructive battle took place between Akainu and the Whitebeard Pirates, which allowed Luffy to get past Akainu and continue advancing toward the walls.
