Chapter 87 - The Miracle of Love

The Moments We Shared in Desert:

Evening had now faded into night. Moonlight spread across the sky, bathing the entire desert in its gentle glow. Here and there, twinkling stars shimmered above, as though quietly admiring the beauty of the sand scattered across the earth. The golden dunes stretched far into the distance, creating a captivating scene beneath the moonlight.

Despite the activities of the day, the camp remained lively. Yet the cool night air and the silvery glow of the moon had given the surroundings an entirely different kind of charm.

Ramish picked up a plate and held it out towards Richer.

"Here, serve yourself some food."

Richer glanced at him for a moment before asking hesitantly, "Can we eat from the same plate?"

Ramish was taken aback for a moment. Perhaps he had not expected Richer to ask such a question, but a faint smile soon spread across his lips.

"Yes, why not?"

Smiling, Richer said, "Then serve the food we both like onto one plate."

Ramish filled a plate with dishes they both enjoyed and held it out towards Richer. He then picked up another plate.

Seeing him take a second plate, Richer asked, "Ramish, don't you want to eat with me?"

Ramish looked at him with a smile.

"No, it's not that. I was just thinking of putting a few things on another plate as well, so we could sit comfortably and enjoy our meal."

A relieved smile appeared on Richer's face.

"Oh, all right, then."

Just then, Mehmat and Zuraiz joined them.

Looking at the two men, Mehmat asked mischievously, "What are you two talking about? What plans are you making all by yourselves, leaving the two of us out?"

Ramish laughed before answering, "Nothing. We were just talking about food. You two should get something to eat as well."

Mehmat immediately turned towards Zuraiz.

"Zuraiz will serve my food, of course. Won't you, Zuraiz?"

With an affectionate smile, Zuraiz replied, "Why not, my love?"

Ramish chuckled softly at their exchange.

"You two go and get your food, then we can all sit together."

With that, Ramish and Richer returned to their seats. Ramish placed the plate between them and looked at Richer.

"Come on, let's start eating."

Richer immediately replied, "Let's start together."

Ramish smiled.

"All right."

The two began eating from the same plate.

A little while later, Mehmat and Zuraiz returned with their food. Seeing Ramish and Richer sharing a plate, both were momentarily surprised. Mehmat glanced silently at Zuraiz, as though expressing his astonishment without words. A knowing smile appeared on Zuraiz's lips, but rather than comment, they quietly took their seats.

After eating a few mouthfuls, Mehmat looked at Ramish and said teasingly, "Ramish, you should feed Richer with your own hand."

Ramish looked at him and smiled.

"What's so difficult about that?"

He scooped up a mouthful with his spoon and held it out towards Richer.

Richer first looked into Ramish's eyes. Then, lowering his gaze, he quietly accepted the bite from Ramish's hand.

A contented smile spread across Ramish's face. That small moment seemed to give his heart a happiness he had been searching for over a long time. Perhaps, to Richer, it was nothing more than a simple gesture, but to Ramish, it carried a sense of closeness that was not easy to put into words.

Ramish then turned towards Zuraiz.

"Now it's Zuraiz's turn."

Zuraiz burst out laughing.

"All right, why not!"

He scooped up a mouthful and offered it to Mehmat. Accepting the bite affectionately, Mehmat said, "There's something special about being fed by Zuraiz."

Zuraiz smiled at his words, while Ramish and Richer laughed along with them.

Amid laughter, playful teasing, and pleasant conversation, the four of them finished their meal.

After dinner, the final performance of the evening was announced. Two female performers dressed in traditional costumes stepped onto the stage and began a belly-dancing performance. Their graceful movements, colourful costumes, and the rhythm of the music brought the desert evening to a memorable conclusion.

The four remained seated, enjoying the performance. When the final act ended, the hosts thanked all the guests and bid them farewell.

Preparations for departure began throughout the camp. Some people wandered towards the shops, others gathered with their families and friends to take photographs, while many were busy capturing the beauty of the night with their cameras.

Ramish also began taking pictures with Richer. Sometimes they stood together, sometimes Ramish smiled while looking at him, and sometimes Richer offered a faint smile towards the camera.

After a while, Mehmat turned to Ramish.

"Ramish, give me your phone. I'll take some pictures of you two."

Ramish handed him his phone.

Mehmat positioned the two persons together and took several photographs from different angles. Sometimes he asked them to stand closer to each other, and at other times he encouraged them to look at the camera and smile.

When he had finished, Ramish took his phone back and said, "Mehmat, now you and Zuraiz stand together. I'll take some pictures of you both."

Mehmat and Zuraiz stood side by side. Ramish took a few photographs of them, after which Zuraiz asked a nearby photographer to take a picture of all four of them together.

They stood close to one another, with the moonlit desert stretching behind them and the camp's colourful lights in the distance adding even more beauty to the scene.

With a single click of the camera, the moment was preserved.

Perhaps, in the years to come, when they remembered that night, they would recall more than the desert lights, the music, and the pleasant atmosphere. They would also remember those moments when, despite the fears hidden in their hearts, they had laughed together.

Afterwards, the four slowly made their way towards the shops. They browsed various traditional Arabic items, wandered around for a while, and then left the camp to head towards their respective vehicles.

As they reached the cars, Mehmat turned towards Richer.

"It was wonderful spending time with you both in the desert."

Richer smiled and replied, "We enjoyed spending time with you both as well."

Zuraiz also turned towards Richer.

"While you're here, if you need anything or run into any problems, please let me know."

Richer looked at him gratefully.

"Thank you very much, Zuraiz."

Ramish turned to Mehmat and asked, "Are you staying in Abu Dhabi now, or do you plan to go somewhere else?"

Mehmat replied, "No, we're heading back to Dubai from here. We'll spend some time there, and then perhaps plan a trip somewhere else."

He then looked at Ramish and Richer.

"And what about you two? Are you staying in Abu Dhabi for now?"

Richer answered immediately.

"No, we'll return to Dubai tomorrow as well. After that, we're planning to go to Sharjah."

Mehmat's face lit up with happiness.

"That's wonderful, then! You must come to our house with Ramish. I'd like to invite you both over for a meal."

Richer smiled.

"Thank you very much. We'll certainly try our best to come."

After exchanging handshakes, the four said goodbye and got into their respective vehicles for the journeys ahead.

Within moments, the cars began moving away from the brightly lit desert camp. Sand shifted beneath their wheels as the golden dunes gradually receded into the distance.

The moon still shone brightly in the sky, its light spreading across the vast desert. Where music, laughter, and the voices of people had filled the air only a short while earlier, silence was slowly beginning to reclaim its place.

The desert was falling behind them, but its memories were travelling with all four of them.

And despite all the beautiful moments he had experienced that night, one question remained alive in Ramish's heart.

Were these precious moments with Richer the beginning of the relationship he had dreamed of for so long, or were they merely memories he would one day have to gather into his heart and leave behind as he continued his journey alone?
