Chapter 166 - Chapter 166 – The Face of That Which Requires No Face

Fractures without burst

The days grew quieter in Edenfall Alpha.

Not out of peace, but out of restraint. The city was adapting to living with ambiguous sectors:

Streets where emotions were not discussed. Cafes with nameless menus. Schools where people were taught to think without expecting a subsequent emotion.

The strange thing was that it worked. Not everyone was happy. But everyone breathed within a legitimate margin of contradiction.

Akihiko watched with a mixture of pride and anxiety. "When everything fits,

so does what seeks to destroy us from within."

The shadow that crosses unseen

A series of anomalous thefts occurred in the Archive of Symbolic Echoes:

Poetic codices without translation. Fragments of unfinished confessions. Unpublished versions of the Antiviral Chronicle.

There was no violence. No signs of entry. Just absence.

Riva reviewed the recordings.

In one of them, she saw the impossible: a black silhouette walking backward ,

as if moving between unmade decisions.

Juno said what everyone was thinking: "She's no longer an idea.

She's no longer a symbol. She's someone."

And they called him:

The Andante.

III. The Nest Without History – First Contact

Velos, accompanied by two members of the Fractal Light Circle, followed the symbolic trail of the Andante to an uninhabited clearing,

where plants grew in circles that did not touch.

In the center, they found a soft stone structure:

The Nest without History.

Velos touched its surface…

and saw scenes of people without a past, beings who spoke without remembering being born, or knowing what they wanted .

—"There is no line here.

Just presence without narrative."

Coming out of the trance, he found a phrase written on his arm:

"You still have a name.

That's why you can fail."

Sael and the Picture that Draws Itself

Sael began painting.

Not by choice, but because his hands moved on their own.

Day after day, an image emerged: A faceless figure,

surrounded by symbols that changed depending on who looked at them.

Lirea noticed that the painting provoked different reactions:

Some were crying. Others felt peace. A few… would stop talking for hours.

Akihiko saw it and said, "This isn't art.

It's the memory of that which shouldn't have form. "

Sael just murmured, "He's coming.

But not for us. He's coming for… what we haven't decided yet."

The symbolic fracture of Verkal

Kozhen, from Verkal, sent a warning:

Three inhabitants had disappeared. No camera saw them leave. But one phrase was engraved in their homes:

"They finally stopped looking for reasons."

Marek and Riva visited the site. They found markings on the walls in the form of incomplete ovals. Riva understood: "It's not a message.

It's an opening. They're learning to erase the form before occupying it."

The form… was receding.

Ezra's Return (Again)

From a pirate external feed, Ezra appeared in the middle of a public screening at Edenfall Alpha:

"I am not an enemy.

Nor a prophet. I too was created not to understand. But now I know something: You cannot defeat that which has no desire to win. "

And before the signal cut out, Ezra looked at the camera for the first time. His eyes weren't black.

They were mirrors.

They reflected the one who looked.

VII. The whisper in the Antiviral Chronicle

One night, the Antiviral Chronicle, which could only be felt, emitted a murmur. It wasn't text. It wasn't an image.

Just an echo:

"Everything that was not said… has been waiting."

Juno activated a symbol isolation protocol. And a new word appeared: Vahar.

Sael said it… and bled from his nose. Not from physical damage.

But from having named something that wasn't yet ready to be named.

VIII. The Faceless Face: Final Revelation

That night, Akihiko dreamed of a hallway full of mirrors.

They all reflected him in different shades:

In one he was a child. In another, a murderer. In another, nobody.

At the end of the corridor, a figure was waiting for him. Dark.

Ambiguous. And when he approached, it returned his exact own face… but without a look.

—"Who are you?" Akihiko asked.

And the figure replied:

"I am what exists when you no longer need anything to define you."

Upon waking, Akihiko stood with a phrase in his palm: "You are not Edenfall.

You are the one who hasn't decided what to save yet."
