Alexander's eyes were dark like a cloudy night, and he faintly smiled, my heart squeezing.
He took his hand back and went to grab another blanket from the closet, and he said, "I don't have much, but you can sleep on the bed with me."
I lifted my brow. "Are you sure? What if I bite?"
He rolled his eyes, "You can try, but I'll be the one biting you to death."
I laughed, my chest feeling lighter.
He smirked and went to lie on the bed, and he patted the blanket.
I went to lie down with him, and exhaustion lingers through my muscles and bones, and no words can convince me otherwise.
With a warm body beside me and peace in my heart, I fell asleep.

The next morning, a loud sound echoes through my ears, waking my body up automatically.
Alexander woke up next to me with his silver hair in messy strands. He furrowed his brow and slid out of the bed. I went to follow him in the living room, where Catherine was lying on the bed.
