Chapter 117 - Chapter 118: The Divine

Appearance. Moody's yelling gave him away.    Three curses met him as he emerged.    Eight Aurors cast spells to rescue the Imperius-curse

Eight Aurors cast spells to rescue the Imperius-cursed Muggles. However, two cursed Muggles then jumped from the building.

  "Shit!"

An Auror muttered, all spells having failed. They watched helplessly as the two Muggles plummeted.

Meanwhile, Mad-Eye Moody used Transfiguration to block two curses, but the third, Cruciatus, struck him from an unstoppable angle. He had no choice but to take it!

He noticed the other Aurors' actions and silently cursed, "How selfish!"

He felt completely ashamed of the situation. Three mere villains, using Muggles as cover, had managed to trick their elite ranks like this? Were the Aurors themselves a little too lax?

Thoughts raced, but the situation took a sudden turn for the worse. The third curse was about to strike in the blink of an eye.

Moody heard a familiar voice and an unfamiliar spell.

  "Porta Vitae,"

an ancient green-bronze door with a fanged demonic image, suddenly materialized before Moody. It swung open, and the demon swallowed the curse in one gulp.

Before Moody could recover, the screams of the demons in front of him suddenly rang out!

He glanced over and saw three venomous snakes emerge from behind the three men, biting down on their wand-grips!

Panicked cries echoed as two Muggles were shoved down the stairs. Three Death Eaters vanished into the black mist.

"Save them first! Be careful, the smoke is poisonous!"

Moody's face darkened as he watched the building rapidly engulfed by black smoke. He was about to charge in recklessly when a hand placed itself on his shoulder.

  "Don't worry."

  "It's not your turn yet!"

  Moody froze.

A blinding white light appeared at his side, swiftly transforming into a tailless arrow. The magical power coursing through it would render any wizard facing it unable to contain their fear!

Their bodies would tremble, their minds would frantically sound alarms. There was no possibility of resistance or delay!

The only option was to flee! Flee! Flee!

  "Swoosh!"

A sharp explosion echoed, followed by the roar of mountains and seas collapsing!

The light pierced the black fog like a meteor streaking through the night sky.

Black air, swirling into a hurricane, lashed around the building.

With this single blow, heaven and earth roared!

White light formed a passport. Eight Aurors guarded the two Muggles at the edge of the building, watching the pulverizing dust billow in the sky with horrified expressions, as if they had witnessed a divine presence.

A faint cry echoed from within the building, then instantly returned to silence.

  "You!"

Moody stared at Damon, his expression composed, his eyes nearly popping out.

What kind of monster had Amelia recommended here?

With that kind of power, you're telling me he needs to start with Auror training?

Thinking about it, it seems his professional skills are a bit lacking, but... but!

With such terrifyingly lethal spells, who cares about professional skills?

Does he still need to lurk and track? Can't he just let his subordinates do that? Find the person and cast that spell, who can't be dealt with?

Could the mysterious man withstand this blow?

"I told you I'm perfect for the Auror job, and you won't listen, no matter what I say."

Damon smiled at him and swung his staff again. The ruins before them began to disintegrate, a large number of steel beams shifted, and dust gathered like a cloud of smoke and disappeared elsewhere, eventually revealing three Death Eaters in the rubble. Their bodies were scattered all over the ground, and all the blood and internal organs had been removed. It looked miserable, but not too gory.

"Looks like they're finished. Shouldn't it affect them?"

"Originally, they were supposed to be captured alive and the Wizengamot would decide the punishment. What do you say now?"

Moody retorted subconsciously, but his expression immediately turned strange. He shouldn't treat him the same way anymore.

"It's all right. We Aurors have permission to use curses against such villains. Even if we accidentally kill them, it's understandable."

Moody waved his wand and snatched a barrel from the rubble. "This should be the Portkey they prepared. If it weren't for you, they might have escaped."

Moody collected the remains of the others and placed them in a black box.

After this respite, his attitude towards Damon shifted again. He said gently,

"The mission is accomplished. Now it's time to finish. We need to restore everything here to its original state. Can you restore this building? My magic doesn't seem to work on it."

  "Of course."

Damon waved his wand, and the building, which had previously remained unresponsive to Moody's 'restore to its original state,' gathered into dust and reconstructed itself.

"This spell is truly powerful. I've never seen it before. Did you create it?"

"Yes, it's called the Divine Spear." "

The Divine Spear. That's a good name. How come there's never been any news of such a powerful spell before?"

Moody suddenly fell silent, a look of understanding on his face.

"I see. Anyone who has truly witnessed this move and survived has likely never been born."

That was no exaggeration. Professor Quirrell blocked it.

  Damon smiled, not explaining.

He liked Moody the way he was.

If he hadn't worried about him not being able to take a joke, he'd probably have said, "I still like your old, rebellious side. Can you please recover?"

But Moody clearly wasn't going to be the same again.

His expression was a mixture of shock, surprise, and contemplation. Even as he lectured Damon about the importance of finishing work, his own thoughts couldn't help but drift.

With such a powerful creature in the Ministry, he could become the world's top Auror. Perhaps soon, no evildoers would disrupt the British wizarding world.

"After restoring the scene to its original state, we need to deal with all witnesses. If they're from the magical world, we'll sign different levels of confidentiality agreements depending on their identities. If they're Muggles, we'll ensure their memories are erased and their bodies are unharmed."

Moody said this, looking at the two Muggles grinning foolishly after waking up, a headache coming on. They'd been struck by an Unforgivable Curse with no counterspell and had previously experienced body transformation.

"Well, we'll just have to take them to St. Mungo's Hospital and leave them there. There's really no better way.

We rescued another Muggle. We must

identify these three Muggles and explain what happened. Two will require years at St. Mungo's to recover.
