Halftime – Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos

Plateau United 1–0 Niger Tornadoes

---

The dressing room was quiet.

Not dead quiet—alive in a different way. Like a charged wire buzzing beneath a layer of calm.

Adam Black stood, arms folded, eyes moving from face to face. The players sat with shirts damp and brows furrowed. Not tired. Focused.

He finally spoke.

"We've taken the first step. But they will come harder now. That's what pressure does. It wakes the giant."

He walked to the whiteboard.

"Stay compact when they have it. Our shape is the fortress. Our passes, the blade."

He looked at Bashiru.

"If they double you, release early. Obinna, keep scanning. And Kelvin—start the second half high. We press early. Get the second goal. Kill their hope."

Then he smiled faintly.

"And remember—don't be afraid to be brave."

Plateau FM 91.7 – Second Half Begins

> "We're back underway here at Rwang Pam. The second half has begun. Plateau lead 1–0, but Musa, I can see the Tornadoes bench barking orders. They're not lying down."

> "Not at all. And look—they've made a change. Number 10, Bello, is on. He's their playmaker, small but tricky. Plateau better not switch off."

> "Coach Black hasn't made any changes yet. Looks like he wants to ride this shape a little longer."

---

49th Minute

Tornadoes upped the tempo. Bello danced between the lines, pulling Bashiru wide and dragging Obinna out of the central lane.

It worked.

Alhassan received a pass with his back to goal and laid it off to Bello, who threaded a reverse ball into the box. Their winger, Azeez, dashed in and poked it past Sunday.

Goal.

1–1.

> "And there it is! Niger Tornadoes equalize! Jos falls silent!"

> "That was clever, Emmanuel. Plateau got stretched. The marking broke. You could see Bello's impact already."

> "Coach Black looks calm, though. No panic. Just gave a thumbs up and clapped."

---

Adam turned to Danladi.

"It's too open now. Tell Musa to drop deeper on the right when we lose it. Also, start warming Gyang. We need legs."

He made the change in the 63rd minute.

Musa off. Gyang on.

Chiboy switched wings. Now it was fresh energy and fresh angles.

But the rhythm Plateau had in the first half... was thinning.

The confidence wasn't gone, but the fluency was stuttering.

---

72nd Minute

Corner for Tornadoes.

Bello swung it in.

Alhassan leapt higher than everyone. Thudded the ball down.

Goal.

1–2.

> "Oh my word! Tornadoes have turned it around! That's the big man again—Alhassan!"

> "You can't give him that kind of space, Emmanuel. Plateau didn't track the run. Poor marking."

> "Now we'll see what Coach Black is made of. Can he pull his boys back into this?"

---

Adam didn't rant. Didn't flail.

He called Kelvin over.

"Tell them to stay calm. Keep the ball. Move them side to side."

He glanced toward the fans. Some were already standing to leave. Some shook their heads. One held a placard up again:

> "No Be England Be This."

But others stayed. Watching. Waiting.

---

79th Minute

Plateau tried to respond. Chiboy cut inside and curled a shot that missed by inches. Tony had a header saved.

But the belief had dipped.

Not in Adam. Not completely.

But the crowd didn't hum the same.

The flair had faded.

And the seconds ran like thieves.

Final Whistle – Plateau United 1–2 Niger Tornadoes

> "And that's it! A brave effort, but it's Niger Tornadoes who steal the win in Jos."

> "A tale of two halves, Emmanuel. Plateau had the first, Tornadoes owned the second."

> "Coach Black walks onto the pitch. Shakes hands. Keeps his head high."

> "Well, this is only the beginning. But the questions will come louder now."

---

Adam walked to the center of the pitch, clapped slowly toward the fans.

Some booed.

Others... clapped back.

Small, scattered. But real.

And in the tunnel, as the players walked past him, he said just one thing:

"Now we learn."

Then he followed them in.

The sun, now dipping, still cast long shadows across the pitch.

But it had been a beginning nonetheless.

The second sun would rise again.
