Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 – Bakudō #26: Kyokkō

Twin Fields VillageLocated along the border of the Land of Fire, Twin Fields Village is surrounded by fertile farmland and is known as one of the country's key agricultural hubs.

Following the outbreak of the Third Shinobi World War, the village was quickly seized by Konoha shinobi and converted into one of the central logistics hubs for the Lightning and Water fronts. As Kumogakure gradually withdrew from the border, the village's entire supply infrastructure was redirected to support the battlefront against Kirigakure.

"Explosive tags, kunai, shuriken, scrolls, soldier pills…"

Outside the village, Yukiko Fuyuna's crimson eyes glinted as she whispered, "Lord Yoru, the intel was accurate. This place is indeed Konoha's logistical relay base. There are enough supplies stockpiled here to sustain a force of nearly a thousand!"

"The defenses are tight—dual-layered sensory barrier seals, eight watchtowers, each manned by three jōnin."

"That well-fortified, huh?"

At her report, a solemn atmosphere settled over the group.

As the saying goes: Before the troops move, the provisions go first. In war, supply lines are paramount.

Take the Konoha-Iwa front, for instance—after Namikaze Minato severed Iwagakure's supply line at Kannabi Bridge, their previously dominant position collapsed almost overnight. They're even preparing for peace talks now.

And now, before them stood Twin Fields Village—one of Konoha's most vital supply points on the Kirigakure front. Its defenses were formidable beyond question.

"There's no top-tier combatant stationed in the village. And with today's weather…" Yoru glanced toward the mist creeping through the treetops. "Conditions are in our favor."

"Yukiko, jam the Byakugan. Teams A and B stay behind for extraction support. I'll infiltrate first and create a diversion. Once chaos breaks out, Ameyuri and Mangetsu, move in."

"Yes, Lord Yoru!"

Ringo Ameyuri and the others responded with grim determination. At the same time, a silent figure with white hair formed a series of hand seals. The light fog among the trees rapidly thickened into a heavy mist.

"Hidden Mist Jutsu!"

"Bakudō #26: Kyokkō."

As the fog rolled out, Yoru murmured the spell under his breath. A strange shimmer pulsed across his form—and then, as if swallowed by the mist, he vanished without a trace.

Even though they had witnessed it countless times before, the sight still left the onlooking ANBU agents in awe.

"Lord Yoru's secret techniques are incredible… probably only Yukiko's Crimson Eyes can perceive him." Uzumaki Hiromi whispered in admiration.

Yukiko shook her head. "Only for the instant he vanishes. Once he's hidden, he moves too fast. I can't follow."

"According to Intel Division records," said Hōzuki Mangetsu, after finishing the Hidden Mist Jutsu, "Only the Moonlight Clan of Konoha possesses a similar technique—Transparent Escape."

"But the Moonlight Clan's secret technique is notoriously difficult to master. No one outside their clan has ever learned it. Some believe it's a kind of unique kekkei genkai."

"Lord Yoru's art… must be completely one of a kind."

"Truly worthy of the title, 'Lord Yoru.'"

Naturally, Yoru was unaware of their praise. But their evaluation wasn't wrong.

The technique he used wasn't Konoha's Transparent Escape—it came from another world entirely.

A Kidō spell from the world of the Shinigami.

That's right—Yoru was a transmigrant, and he came with a cheat ability unlike any other.

His advantage?A Zanpakutō.

On the night he was born, the blade had descended from the sky and landed beside him.

The Snow Clan immediately went on high alert, expecting an assassination or ambush—but none ever came.

Strangely, whenever anyone tried to move the Zanpakutō away, it would mysteriously return to Yoru's side, no matter how far. Even holding it tightly wouldn't help—once taken more than a hundred meters away, it would instantly reappear beside him.

The bizarre phenomenon caused quite a stir at the time—even the Third Mizukage and the village elders came to inspect it personally.

Later, when the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were being appointed, Yoru's Zanpakutō was even nominated. But because its only apparent feature was its loyalty to its master—and an extremely slow self-repairing ability like the Executioner's Blade—it was ultimately excluded.

But only Yoru knew the truth: the blade that had followed him since birth wasn't just a Zanpakutō—

It was his golden finger. The physical form of his system.

It didn't have a name, but it had plenty of functions.

It could exchange anything from the world of Bleach—for a price. Points were required to unlock abilities.

He earned points by completing missions the system released at random—or by eliminating designated targets.

For instance, the Bakudō he had just cast, #26 Kyokkō, had been redeemed through the system.

Bakudō #26: Kyokkō – Generates a veil of light that renders the target invisible.

MeanwhileInside Twin Fields VillageAtop a watchtower

Aburame Shifū, a Konoha jōnin wearing black sunglasses, stood solemnly at the edge of the platform, scanning the creeping fog.

"The mist is unusually thick today. Feels like Kirigakure's Hidden Mist Technique. Stay sharp."

"C'mon, Shifū, you're too cautious."

Below, Inuzuka Hai chuckled. "Even Gaiya didn't smell anything strange. I heard we've already repelled over ten enemy assaults at the main front. Those Mist creeps are like sewer rats—sneaky at best. They wouldn't dare a head-on attack. They're no match for us."

"Don't get cocky, Hai," said Shifū, adjusting his glasses. "This is still a battlefield."

"Tch. You're too tense. Even Hizashi didn't sense anything."

"There's faint chakra in the air," said Hyūga Hizashi coolly. His white Byakugan eyes scanned the mist, veins bulging on his temples. "This is the Hidden Mist Technique. But I see no enemy silhouettes. Might be a feint—to wear us down."

"Hmph. Such a foolish strategy. We have Byakugan users here. If they can't even grasp that, they're relying on outdated tricks."

"Kirigakure may be one of the Five Great Shinobi Villages, but living on islands all year must've dulled their sense of the world."

"Bwahahaha!"

Laughter echoed across the tower. Even Hizashi showed a rare hint of a smile.

Sunagakure was defeated. Kumogakure had withdrawn. Iwagakure had lost its momentum.

Of the Five Great Shinobi Nations, three had already fallen to Konoha.

Kirigakure, who had yet to claim a single victory at the front, was barely holding on.

Their laughter was earned.

"Alert!"

Suddenly, the perimeter barrier flared—a warning.

A gray blur sprang from Inuzuka Hai's side and launched itself into a nearby thicket.

The laughter died immediately. The shinobi turned serious in an instant.

Moments later, a large gray dog returned from the brush, a rabbit clamped in its jaws.

"…A rabbit?"

Hai frowned, glancing at Hizashi. The Hyūga shook his head. "My Byakugan has remained active. No other presence nearby. That's an ordinary rabbit. No chakra flow."

Everyone relaxed.

"Looks like we were just too wound up."

"This war's dragged on too long. I'm starting to miss the village…"

"Don't worry. The Hokage has sent Lord Jiraiya to reinforce our front!"

"Seriously?! If Lord Jiraiya's coming, we'll crush Kirigakure in no time!"

"No doubt about it. He's one of the Legendary Sannin, after all!"
