AYASHA'S POV

I left the silver birch grove with my head spinning, Koda's words echoing in my mind. I had figured something out just as Koda left to confront Mingan. It had been that same thing he had hinted to me when I was at his chambers to give me foolish hope. The Elder Prince had been orchestrating some elaborate coup, and somehow it was becoming clear that I was a piece on his board.

But I needed to find Koda again. We'd been interrupted by his revelation about Mingan, and there were still too many unanswered questions. Too many loose threads that didn't add up. The way Koda had looked when he stormed off to confront his grandfather worried me. There was no question about it now for me. My gut feeling had been right about the man. So I was scared. What if Mingan tried to manipulate him further? What if this whole situation spiraled even more out of control?
