Lucien froze in the doorway.
For a heartbeat, the world seemed to stop. His silver eyes widened, his lips parting as he took in the sight before him: Emerald was sprawled beneath Kieran, flushed and breathless, their bodies still tangled, sweat-slicked skin pressed close.
"Kieran," Lucien said slowly in a low, tight voice, "what the hell are you doing?"
Kieran stiffened but didn't pull out, his chest still heaving against Emerald's. "What does it look like?"
Emerald scrambled, panic shooting through her veins. "Lucien, wait…"
But words caught in her throat as her wolf stirred, pressing hard against her control.
Viola purred darkly in the back of her mind. "Another one… why not? You've imagined it, haven't you? All of them on you, taking and claiming you."
'Shut up,' Emerald thought desperately, but heat surged again, fiercer than before.
