Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Kurohane! That's the seventh drug dealer you've put behind bars this week!"

A thin wisp of smoke still curled from the remnants of the last villain's cremated ashes, the one who had met his end under the barrel of Kurohane's gun. Just imagine, two hundred and fifty grams of bullet fragments lodged in that drug lord's body!

"We're S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, not members of the National Narcotics Board!"

A loud thud startled the room. Nick Fury, the Director, slammed the file in his hand onto the desk in a fit of rage, his one eye piercing sharply at the Asian man before him. His raised voice was a clear indication of his burning anger. His bald, dark head gleamed like a salted egg ready to be cracked open.

"Next time, Director," Kurohane's voice was cold yet filled with conviction, "I'll switch to a weapon with a larger caliber. One that can directly... obliterate the target."

The tall man standing ramrod straight before Fury was Kurohane, a S.H.I.E.L.D. Level 3 agent. Ironically, he was once a Hydra spy embedded within S.H.I.E.L.D., with an Asian face that was quite rare in the organization. Fate, however, had other plans. A common flu claimed the Hydra agent's life on the way to the hospital. Now, his body was inhabited by another soul, a huge Marvel fan from a previous life who also happened to be named Kurohane.

Transmigration? At first, it felt alien, but he quickly accepted this new reality. How could he not? Just a few days in, he saw a very familiar face in the newspaper: Robert Downey Jr. Immediately, the image of Tony Stark, the genius playboy who would later become Iron Man, the savior of the universe, flashed in his mind.

As a 'newbie' in the world of transmigrators, he wasn't exempt from the 'standard equipment': a cheat system! It was called the "Justice Value Lottery System." The rules were simple: every action deemed just by the system would grant him justice value points, which could be exchanged for lottery tickets. One ticket cost one hundred justice value points, and the prize? Entirely dependent on Lady Luck.

Apart from the free draw he received upon first connecting with the system, which granted him the extraordinary ability [Death Marksman], a month had passed, and Kurohane still hadn't managed to accumulate one hundred justice value points to try his luck again!

Just imagine, that prize roulette wasn't just filled with various fantastic abilities from the Marvel universe. Kurohane had once glimpsed the absurd [Steel Body], and even the mighty [Phoenix Force]!

In this world, human life felt so cheap. Relying on firearms alone didn't provide Kurohane with a sense of security. He not only needed strength comparable to Superman with his Steel Body but also abilities on par with the God of Thunder, Thor!

Thanos, the terrifying Purple Titan, would soon set foot on Earth. It certainly wasn't a good idea to be defenseless! Moreover, the Marvel world would eventually enter a chaotic Multiverse era. If he didn't possess that level of power, and considering he wasn't the protagonist, he would most likely just become dust in the wind!

Damn it! After all the trouble of transmigrating, was he just going to die like that? What a waste! Kurohane thought furiously.

Fortunately, his identity as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent often required dealing with criminal elements. Sooner or later, he would definitely accumulate enough justice value points to play the lottery. And as long as he kept trying, even if his luck was bad, a true 'grinder' would eventually hit the jackpot!

After several attempts, Kurohane realized that capturing criminals and handing them over to the authorities sometimes didn't yield any justice value points. This meant some criminals might escape the clutches of the law, leaving him empty-handed! However, shooting and eliminating them directly? That was guaranteed to produce justice value points one hundred percent of the time!

Kurohane: (Thinking hard) (Huge loss!!!)

Thanks to his [Death Marksman] skill, Kurohane was truly like a fish in water in open terrain. Any weapon he held felt incredibly familiar in his hands. His aim? Don't even ask, always a bullseye!

Gun dealer? Bang! Instantly deceased!

Stealing from a store? Bang! Bang! Immediately collapsed!

Armed robbery? Crash! Crash! Crash! The entire empty magazine flew out!

In short, within a week of transmigrating, Kurohane had successfully 'dealt with' around seventeen or eighteen criminals. He immediately became a hot topic within S.H.I.E.L.D., but also drew sharp criticism from his superiors in both Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Hydra leader whispered angrily that a 'mole' shouldn't act so recklessly. Even if he wanted to gain achievements and promotions, there was no need to 'massacre' criminals!

Meanwhile, the S.H.I.E.L.D. higher-ups grumbled that an agent shouldn't act so brutally. If all the criminals were eliminated, the bureau's budget would be drastically cut!

The climax? Kurohane casually pulled out his pistol and pointed it at the head of one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. leaders with a cold gaze.

"You're all parasites! For that damn funding, you actually let crime run rampant right under your noses?!"

The result was predictable... Kurohane was immediately subdued by more than a dozen tactical team members and thrown into solitary confinement.

However, the story of the 'barbaric' agent who dared to point a gun at his corrupt superior reached the ears of Nick Fury's right-hand man: Phil Coulson. Hearing about a 'stubborn' figure in the bureau who dared to go against the grain, Coulson immediately requested all information about Kurohane to be thoroughly reviewed.

Of course, Hydra's methods of falsifying information were impeccable. So, Coulson met Kurohane in his cell without any preconceived notions. A tall, sturdy figure, bright eyes full of determination, only his black hair and Asian face were slightly different. He strongly resembled Coulson's idol, Captain America. Without hesitation, Coulson decided to release Kurohane from confinement.

He even introduced Kurohane to his boss, Nick Fury, to be the Director's personal bodyguard.

But who was Kurohane? What wouldn't he do to uphold justice?! Once, while traveling with Nick Fury, he saw the police chasing a fugitive in a car. Without a second thought, his reflexes kicked in. Bang! He shot directly at the fugitive's car's fuel tank, resulting in a massive explosion!

Nick Fury could only stare in disbelief. As a result, he decided to give Kurohane a 'behind the desk' job: guarding the office door!

Despite this, on his way to and from work, Kurohane still managed to 'deal with' one or two unlucky Hell's Kitchen gangsters who crossed his path. Making the entire underworld of Hell's Kitchen live in uncertainty and fear of leaving their homes carelessly.

If it weren't for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s decent salary, Kurohane might have already run out of money to buy ammunition at the gun store! However, despite being 'productive', he had only accumulated 68 justice value points.

A week later, Nick Fury's patience reached its limit. That explosive anger was what started the scene in the room.

"ENOUGH!!! I don't want to hear any more of your nonsense here!"

The veins on Nick Fury's dark forehead bulged visibly, his gaze piercing sharply at Kurohane, who stood ramrod straight with an innocent expression. They stared at each other for a long moment, and in the end, it was Nick Fury who looked away. After all, he only had one eye!

Realizing that being harsh with Kurohane was not yielding any results, he tried another tactic, speaking in a gentler and more controlled tone.

"Kurohane, S.H.I.E.L.D. was originally a secret organization. Your actions could attract unwanted attention."

"Director," Kurohane replied flatly, "when I shoot, I always show my CIA badge."

"..."

"Then you can't entirely blame them..."

"Sometimes I also show my FBI badge."

"..."

"Or NYPD, or others, Director!"

Nick Fury: (Rubbing his temples) (Please don't continue, I beg you, don't continue!)

This kid's methods were truly 'waterproof'! Even if it went to military court, Kurohane could easily win his case and get substantial compensation! After all, his actions always adhered to the agent's code of ethics: attack first, report later! This was S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Moreover, having someone stubborn and uncompromising under his command also had its advantages. If he actually fired Kurohane, Nick would slightly regret it! Added to that was Kurohane's Asian background; amidst the current hot topic of LGBT issues, if this matter wasn't handled carefully, it could create even bigger problems!

After thinking for a moment, Nick came up with an idea that he thought was quite brilliant!

"Kurohane, do you know Tony Stark, that famous playboy?"

Kurohane nodded briefly.

"He's going to the Middle East tomorrow, and your new mission is to be responsible for his safety."

Nick Fury felt satisfied with his plan. He hoped the desert sands of the Middle East could 'wash away' the stubbornness in that young man's brain. More importantly, it would keep this 'troublesome' kid out of his sight for a while!

However, Kurohane didn't immediately agree to the mission. His mind drifted far away. Tony Stark's trip to the Middle East would be a turning point in his life, the beginning of Iron Man. If it weren't for that kidnapping, Tony would never have created the Iron Suit. He also would never have realized how cruel war was and that selling weapons only brought suffering to the world.

And the terrorist group that kidnapped Tony, weren't they also trying to uphold 'justice' in their own way?

Thinking about it, Kurohane finally nodded in agreement.

"Alright, Director!"

"Coulson will give you the detailed mission information. Just go see him."

"Good afternoon, Director!"

Kurohane opened the office door and stepped out. However, just as the door was about to close, he poked his head back in and said to Nick Fury in an undeniably threatening tone:

"Director, I've noticed a large fund transfer recently. I suspect you're embezzling bureau funds. Even if you send me to the ends of the earth now, it won't stop me! I'll continue this investigation as soon as I get back! This isn't over!"

SLAM!

The door slammed shut, startling Nick Fury, who could only stare in disbelief.

Nick Fury: (Low growl) (Damn it!!! Just go and cause trouble somewhere else!!!)
