Chapter 15 - Just Leave Me Alone

Midoria

His terrifying laughter filled the room. He looked like he was crazy.

A sadness filled my heart, so he didn't care about me when he was with One For All. I know this. I mean, everyone knows that if someone comes into your room and beats you up to get what he want, you realize he hates you.

But if this person is your childhood friend whom you cherish the most, it hurts to accept it.

I looked back at him, he was still the same and was waiting eagerly for me to make the first move.

I looked at him with wide eyes. Why did this have to happen? I let out a long breath and took a step toward him.

"Let's make a deal."

I was examining him very carefully and watching his reaction.

"...A deal? HAHAHA ARE YOU TRYING TO AVOID FIGHTING, LOSER?"

"I'm not running away from anything, Bakugo. If I win the fight, you'll leave me alone until I graduate from UA."

"What if I win?"

His voice was so deep and harsh, it made me pause for a moment.

"If you win... I'll give you One For All."

He looked at me intently, and then a terrible look crossed his face. I could see the hunger in his eyes. If he could, he would kill me and try to take One For All.

"Deal?"

"I'm going to eat you raw."

He walked towards me and continued until we were two steps away.

"Deal."

This deal was really risky, but I had no other way to make him stay away from me.

"Then..."

He started to hold my hand and squeeze it harder.

"LET'S FIGHT!"

He threw me against the window and which shattered. When I realized I was falling, I activated One For All and landed safely.

This guy... makes me want to beat him even more.

He jumped down from the broken window and shot huge explosions in his hands.

I distributed One For All over my legs and ran as fast as I could towards the forest, trying not to be noticed by the guards. When I got to the middle of the forest, I stopped and looked around. Where is he?

I saw a silhouette in the trees and ran towards it and kicked with all my might but it was just bushes.

"Hahaha what's your rush, Deku? Rushing to beat me would be your biggest mistake because you still haven't figured it out, YOU CAN'T BEAT ME."

A loud explosion came from behind me and I fell to the ground in pain.

When I put my hand on my back, a liquid came to my hand. I couldn't understand anything because of the pain, so I brought my hand back in front of me to look. This-this was blood.

Fear coursed through my body like poison. In a panic, I clumsily tried to block the incoming attacks.

I dodged every move and could only defend myself. I can't win this fight this way.

"IS THIS THE BEST YOU CAN DO, LOSER? SHOW ME WHAT MAKES YOU SO DESERVING OF ONE FOR ALL."

"You're right, I'm the one who deserves One For All, not you. It must be hard for you to understand this, Bakugo."

"YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT."

He attacked with anger, and on his first mistake I hit him in the face, stunning him, and then I kicked him right in the stomach, throwing him back.

He might be stronger than me, but he wasn't smarter than me.

I continued to attack him as he lay motionless on the ground. I couldn't help but think of myself as disgusting, but I had to win this fight. This fight was a gamble with my life, losing is not an option.

I stood back and looked at him as he lay bleeding on the ground. He looked awful, and I was to blame.

I was no different than Bakugo right now, I beat him until he was covered in blood to get One For All.

But I won and he had to honor the deal.

I could hear shouting coming from the forest, and when a lot of light hit my eyes, I reflexively squinted.

These voices... were the voices of heroes.
