"Alright… this is the place."
While Konoha was thrown into turmoil, outside the village Kitagawa Gen's figure appeared in a mountain valley.
The next moment, his eyes transformed into the state of the Tenseigan, rippling with luminous blue streams of light.
"No one here. Good."
He carefully scanned his surroundings, only nodding after confirming there was no one nearby.
This valley wasn't far from the Fire Temple, a range of connected gorges.
He had fought here before—against Uchiha Obito and the others in the guise of Ōtsutsuki Genshiki—leaving the area already in ruins. Even if something happened now, it wouldn't make much difference.
[Vmmm—]
In an instant, a vast wave of chakra surged across his entire body, a presence like gentle moonlight radiating from him.
Clearly, he had established a link with the Tenseigan on the Moon.
With each use, this method was becoming more and more natural to him.
"And my lock on this 'Giant Tenseigan' is getting clearer."
That clarity was such that he almost felt he could faintly see the legendary Hamura Shrine through that eye.
Yet there was still something—just a little—blocking him, as though a barrier remained.
"Probably because my eyes haven't undergone their second round of enhancement yet."
"Besides, the abilities of my eyes should only keep growing stronger… and this process won't be a short one."
His Tenseigan not only retained the Byakugan's x-ray vision, but also carried the "insight" he had gained after acquiring Yin Release from Uchiha Obito.
He didn't know what an ordinary Tenseigan was truly like—he had never used one before—but he had a feeling.
If he kept improving himself, his eyes could very well become unique.
"After all, with my current bloodline and the way I've been growing, I'm already something of a 'one of a kind.'"
Perhaps, through gradual transformation, he could even become what one might call a "God of the Ōtsutsuki."
"Alright… that should be enough."
Sensing his chakra was nearly ready, he slowly raised his hand.
A black rod imbued with the power of the Totsuka Sword appeared in his grip, shifting in the next instant into the form of a longsword.
Fixing his gaze on the distant valley, he drew in a deep breath—then suddenly swung.
"Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"
[Rumble—!]
Fueled by the combined might of the Totsuka Sword and his Tenseigan's chakra, an immense storm erupted in an instant, sweeping across the entire valley.
Within this storm, which seemed capable of annihilating everything, all matter was shredded to dust in the blink of an eye, colliding and crashing with a cacophony of sounds.
The valley roared and collapsed without pause, a scene like heaven and earth being torn apart—enough to send chills down one's spine.
"Seems like it's still just a little short."
Controlling the energy of the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, Kitagawa Gen couldn't help but ponder.
For now, this level of power might be sufficient—but he knew the opponents he would face were anything but ordinary.
As Ōtsutsuki Genshiki, with a "prestige" that high, how could his power be too weak?
"If that's the case, then…"
Taking a deep breath, he let natural energy surge violently through his body. Today, he would see just what the technique's maximum power could be.
With the blessing of natural energy, everything felt different.
Even though he had anticipated it, the fusion of the two left him with a sense that at this moment, he could do anything.
Natural energy truly became stronger the stronger the opponent it faced.
[Vmmm—]
With the roar of natural energy, his Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion's might grew even more terrifying.
Under its assault, the continuous ridges of the valley collapsed and shattered in a frenzy.
In the blink of an eye, the entire valley seemed erased by an inexhaustible force, leaving only a desolate emptiness behind.
…
"This is…"
Within Mount Myōboku, the Great Toad Sage suddenly opened his eyes, as if sensing a power beyond comprehension.
He immediately pulled out a crystal ball, set it on the cushion before him, and circulated his chakra at high speed.
"Technique of the Telescope."
This technique, created from his ability to observe the outside world, also allowed him to locate people at will.
The only requirement was knowing the person's chakra signature—once he had that, no matter the distance, he could find them.
Yet, after a few moments, he lifted his head in confusion, looking up toward the sky, murmuring under his breath.
"Blocked? What a terrifying fellow…"
On the surface of the crystal ball appeared the Moon—the very one where Kaguya was sealed.
...
"Damn it… fine, I'll agree."
Meanwhile, inside the Kamui dimension, Shinnō stood helpless before Obito, with no way to resist. In the end, he could only yield.
"Agreeing to this isn't a bad thing. At least you'll stay alive. At least you'll still have the chance to pursue your dream."
Obito nodded calmly. This was, in his eyes, the completion of a recruitment plan—even if he didn't think much of this man.
At the very least, he was a medical-nin.
"Tch. You're going after Konoha anyway, aren't you? I'll just consider it doing my part."
Shinnō wasn't thrilled about being forced into some organization—especially when the recruiter was a Uchiha.
But as a missing Sky Ninja, he was more than happy to take revenge on Konoha.
"Don't worry. Konoha won't be spared. And we already have our own grudge against them."
Obito nodded. That was no problem at all—Konoha would act sooner or later.
Perhaps as early as next year.
"Come on, I'll take you to meet the others."
Shaking his head, Obito spoke directly—but Shinnō shook his own in reply.
"Go on ahead. I still have something to retrieve."
"Suit yourself."
Obito didn't care. He opened a Kamui portal and stepped out with Shinnō.
"Hm?"
But the moment they emerged into the outside world, both froze.
What was with this barren emptiness before their eyes?
Weren't they just inside a valley?
They didn't have time to dwell on it—because in the next instant, an immense power descended from the sky, crashing down upon them with overwhelming force.
...
"Great Toad Sage, have you discovered anything new?"
Inside the temple of Mount Myōboku, Fukasaku dutifully approached the Great Toad Sage.
Lately, he had felt that the Great Toad Sage had changed. He was still somewhat senile, but the whole toad seemed far more lucid than before.
But he also knew that such clarity was not a good sign—it meant that things had become truly grave.
"For now, there's not much new to report. However, Mount Myōboku must remain on full alert."
The Great Toad Sage let out a sigh before speaking in a solemn tone.
"The enemy from outside is more troublesome than we imagined. He's very good at concealing himself—so much so that even my probing cannot locate the target."
"Even the Telescope Technique doesn't work?"
Fukasaku was somewhat surprised. He knew very well how convenient that technique was, but the Great Toad Sage nodded.
"That's right. Which is why we must make every preparation. If necessary, we can send the young toads out to look around."
"Wouldn't that be too risky? With little Jiraiya here, there shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"Little Jiraiya will be fine, but he currently has more important matters to handle. Think of this as a kind of trial for Mount Myōboku as well."
"Is that so… I understand."
Fukasaku nodded. Mount Myōboku still had plenty of young toads, each with their own unique abilities—Jiraiya even used various small toads to deliver messages.
Though they were unlikely to ever grow into anything like Gamabunta and his brothers, they were still quite useful overall.
"Then I'll go make preparations, Great Sage."
"Go on—and be careful."
The Great Toad Sage nodded. Once Fukasaku left, he couldn't help but glance again at the crystal ball.
Within it, the silver moon still hung there, yet the Great Toad Sage seemed somewhat weary.
"Has this Ōtsutsuki Genshiki found Kaguya's location, or did he accidentally guide chakra to the moon?"
"Or could it be…"
"That he's actually on the moon himself?"
...
"What? Dead?"
While the Great Toad Sage was sinking into anxiety, elsewhere, Black Zetsu wore a bewildered expression.
"What happened? How did that guy die?"
"I don't know. It's like he was ambushed… but it doesn't quite feel right."
Uchiha Obito's face was dark with frustration. He had gone to great lengths to deal with that man—
—only to exit Kamui's space and be met head-on by an unknown energy attack.
In almost an instant, that man had been shredded into pulp, and even Obito himself had been blasted apart.
If not for his Sharingan, and his instinct to immediately activate Izanagi upon sensing danger, he would have been finished for real.
The second time.
The second time he had poked his head out of Kamui and, for no apparent reason, found himself on the brink of death. Even he could barely keep his composure now.
"The entire valley has been flattened—the terrain completely changed. Just what happened there?"
"The valley's been leveled?"
Hearing this, even Black Zetsu was startled. There weren't many who could achieve something like that, and not many methods to do it either.
But to flatten a valley, crush both Obito and another person outright, and force Obito to use Izanagi—there were very, very few who could manage that.
'Could it be… that guy?'
All of a sudden, something occurred to Black Zetsu, and the way he looked at Obito changed.
"What is it?"
Obito was puzzled; he had no idea what Black Zetsu meant. Black Zetsu spoke with deliberate caution.
"You don't have any kind of mark on you, do you?"
"Mark? What do you mean? You're suspecting…"
"Mm. I suspect it was Ōtsutsuki Genshiki who made a move. To pinpoint you that precisely—I'm worried he may have left something on you, just like Namikaze Minato did."
"A mark… on me?"
Uchiha Obito's expression darkened instantly. Back then, when Namikaze Minato had left a mark, Kitagawa Gen had taken full advantage of it—he remembered it vividly even now.
The idea of having a mark on him had already left a deep impression before, and this time, the opponent was such a terrifying man—how could he possibly tolerate it?
"Which is why I think it's necessary to give you a thorough check."
Black Zetsu's tone was deadly serious.
"This is not something we can hesitate over. If there really is trouble and danger, and he strikes again next time, we're finished."
"Then check me thoroughly."
Obito no longer dwelled on it. Being forced to use Izanagi twice in a row against the same person had genuinely rattled him.
He still had his own goal—he still had to create a peaceful world where Rin and everyone could live together. How could he resign himself to fate?
"Let him strut around for now. Once the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path revives and we gather all the Tailed Beasts, we'll definitely take him down."
"Yes… I'm thinking the same."
Black Zetsu nodded, though inwardly he couldn't help but sigh.
Even with the Ten Tails and the Rinnegan, whether they could actually deal with this man—Black Zetsu couldn't say.
For now, it was best to take it one step at a time.
And besides Obito, there were other matters giving him a headache.
"Kisame and Uchiha Itachi… we'll need to find another medical-nin for them."
