Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: When the Dragon Vein Explodes

On the Moon—

The three elders sat in solemn meditation within the temple, imparting their knowledge to Toneri.

Though Toneri had been born without eyes, his potential was limitless. To these three elders, he was the future hope of their lineage.

Even in blindness, he had been subjected to rigorous discipline from a young age, never permitted the slightest laxity.

"Toneri, though the current circumstances are harsh, once you gain your eyes, you'll be able to wield the power of the Tenseigan."

The Great Elder looked at Toneri, who was panting heavily, and spoke with heartfelt weight.

"So endure a little longer. Strive harder. The will of our ancestors, the future of this world—all of it rests on your shoulders."

"I understand. I won't let anyone down."

Toneri nodded. He had grown up listening to these words, and he had always devoted himself to that goal.

Even if blindness forced him to work twice as hard, he had never once complained.

"Very good."

All three elders nodded in unison, clearly satisfied with Toneri's current mindset.

"Hm?"

But just then, the three of them suddenly sensed something—and even Toneri noticed the disturbance immediately.

They turned their heads, only to see the previously dormant Tenseigan churning with turbulent waves. Golden chakra surged and pulsed wildly within it—it had clearly been activated once again!

It had been over a month since the last time the Tenseigan had awakened, and the three elders had since recovered considerably.

They had been patiently waiting for the one who had stolen the Tenseigan's power to make another move. And now, that moment had finally come!

"Is it that same person again?"

The Third Elder, whose temperament was the most extreme among them, rushed forward and asked in a low voice.

"So he's finally made his move?"

"Don't be hasty just yet."

The Great Elder frowned in thought for a moment, then extended his hand, chakra faintly activating within him.

"Assist me—I need to observe what's happening."

"Understood."

The Second and Third Elders immediately nodded and began weaving hand seals, aiding the Great Elder in seizing control of the Tenseigan.

In the blink of an eye, with their combined effort, the Great Elder's consciousness, empowered by the immense force of the Tenseigan, descended to observe the Shinobi World from above.

At that moment, distance became meaningless. Within just a few breaths, his gaze traveled from the Moon to the battlefields of the Land of Wind!

Yet even now, confusion clouded his expression.

"What's wrong?"

"Did you see anything?"

The Second and Third Elders asked, puzzled by the Great Elder's silence.

"That location…"

The Great Elder spoke in a bewildered tone.

"For some reason, a massive surge of natural energy has suddenly erupted there, shrouding the entire area—I can't see anything clearly."

"That region never had this before… And the Tenseigan's power isn't being used on a specific individual…"

"This is bad!"

At that, the Great Elder's expression suddenly darkened.

"That person… He's using the Tenseigan to attack a place that's cloaked in natural energy? Is he out of his mind?"

"A forbidden land?"

The Third Elder's eyes suddenly lit up, his voice dropping to a murmur.

"Maybe we should help him out. It would be the perfect chance to test what's really going on in that region."

"No!"

This time, before the Great Elder could speak, the Second Elder cut in.

"Did you forget how the ancestors described it in the scrolls? Even if we wanted to look, didn't you notice?"

"The Tenseigan's output is far too high—it will affect us. And what's more, our authority over the Tenseigan's control... seems to be weakening!"

As the surging chakra grew more intense, the giant Tenseigan had already begun operating at a nearly frenzied pace.

Even though this much chakra was still not enough to overwhelm the eye, its erratic operation would inevitably have consequences!

More importantly, their control was slipping—steadily being overwritten, as if some higher authority was forcibly seizing command.

If not for the fact that they were in close proximity and wielded their clan's secret techniques, they would've already lost control by now!

"Enough arguing. Take back control first."

The Great Elder fell silent for a moment, then finally made his decision.

"We don't know what's happening down below. All we can do now is wait and see how things unfold."

"But we mustn't allow the Tenseigan to continue like this—and under no circumstance can we lose control of it."

"We cannot allow another Demonic Statue of the Outer Path incident."

"Damn it—what the hell is going on?!"

The Third Elder cursed loudly. But faced with the violently surging Tenseigan, none of them had a better solution.

What they didn't notice, however, was the strange expression on Toneri's face.

He had a natural affinity with the Tenseigan—destined to inherit and command it.

And at this moment, he could sense it clearly:

The force manipulating the Tenseigan wasn't entirely foreign. It felt… intimately familiar. Almost like a sibling energy.

A hidden, surging chakra descended gently with the moonlight, falling softly across the deserts of the Land of Wind.

In an instant, an explosion of blindingly intense energy erupted!

At first, it was no more than flickering starlight—but within seconds, it expanded violently, and the roaring chakra swept across the region like an unstoppable tidal wave.

[BOOM—]

[RUMBLE—]

Under the deafening roar of that overwhelming chakra force, the earth trembled as if split open, and clouds of dust and sand engulfed the sky in a blinding storm.

On the desert floor, deep rifts cracked open in silence. Even as yellow sand poured in to fill them, it seemed powerless to erase the devastation.

Waves of white radiance flashed without end, casting light so bright it turned the darkened sky into blazing day.

The intensity of the light was unbearable—blinding to the point no one could keep their eyes open.

Nearby, the ancient city of Rōran was quickly caught in the blast. The radiant energy instantly reduced its outer walls and towers to mere paper, collapsing in the blink of an eye.

And this power kept spreading, relentlessly advancing deeper into the heart of Rōran. Countless towering structures were reduced to rubble in moments.

"Damn it!"

"What the hell is happening?!"

"AAAAAAHHHH—!"

At the heart of the battlefield, the advancing shinobi from Kumogakure and Sunagakure had only just arrived—they hadn't even figured out what was going on.

Their bodies were already torn to pieces. Some managed to cry out in confusion. Others couldn't even scream before they were utterly consumed by the white light.

"Damn it!"

Even Orochimaru couldn't help but curse under his breath. Without hesitation, he commanded Manda to open its jaws wide and leapt inside.

At the same time, he ordered Manda to use the Reverse Summoning Technique, desperate to escape this hellscape.

But it was too late. The white radiance had already engulfed Manda's massive body.

"Orochimaru, you bastard!"

Manda let out a pained wail—and in the next instant, it too was swallowed by the white light.

Yet the violent surge of energy didn't stop. It continued to spread, sweeping across the battlefield and engulfing even those who had been fighting at a distance.

"...?!"

Sasori was the first to notice something was wrong. But just as he turned and saw the moonlight-like white glow surging toward him, the puppets behind him had already burst into flames!

"What is this…?"

A look of confusion and shock flashed across Sasori's face. Without time to think, he immediately manipulated his puppets to form a human wall.

At the same time, he had the Third Kazekage unleash Magnet Release: Iron Sand Wall—but the force and destruction of the blast had clearly exceeded all his expectations.

Even though he had reacted in time, it still wasn't fast enough. The white light pierced straight through the iron sand, sweeping through every single one of his puppets!

[BZZZZZ—]

Under the roar of that raw energy, his puppets shattered and collapsed in flames, one after another. In the blink of an eye, nearly all of his prized creations were destroyed.

Even the new puppet body he had just rebuilt crumbled in an instant under the blast. Gears, weapons, and even oil spilled out across the ground.

"Damn it—what the hell is going on?!"

Sasori's eyes burned red with rage. He had poured a great deal of effort into reconstructing that body. But this wasn't the time for grief or anger.

Without hesitation, he controlled the Third Kazekage to lift off into the air. Though the puppet had been damaged by the impact, it was still barely functional.

"This is my only option."

As soon as the Third Kazekage took flight, Sasori reached for his own core and hurled it toward the puppet.

After all, he was already a puppet. As long as his core remained intact, his body could be discarded at any time.

"Has the Dragon Vein erupted?"

Chiyo, witnessing the chaos, quickly began retreating. Yet even as she moved, she couldn't help but suspect the truth.

This kind of phenomenon… the only thing that could explain it was the eruption of the Dragon Vein.

But she didn't have time to confirm it. Even with Sasori blocking part of the energy for her, the terrifying force had already arrived.

"So this is the Dragon Vein? It's even more terrifying than a Tailed Beast Bomb!"

Chiyo had lived through countless wars—she knew exactly how destructive a Tailed Beast Bomb could be.

One glance at the shattered desert was all she needed to make a decision.

She immediately summoned all the remaining puppets at her command and quickly wove a series of hand seals.

In an instant, the puppets assembled and converted their chakra into a unified defensive shield!

As she held the defense against the impact, Chiyo seized the moment and leapt into a chasm that had split open beside her.

Even so, her body was violently battered by the blast. She emerged bruised, tattered, and barely clinging on.

...

"Damn you bastards… all of you deserve to die!"

Elsewhere on the battlefield, Kakuzu let out a furious roar—he had just lost three more hearts to this sneak attack.

Now down to his last life, he was forcing himself to calm down, no matter how much rage boiled inside him.

But suddenly, from far off in the distance, came a thunderous quake—one that shook the entire battlefield like an earthquake echoing from the depths of the earth.

In the next instant, a wave of invisible energy surged forward, sweeping along with billowing yellow sand. The sight of it made his expression change drastically.

And it wasn't just him—off in the distance, Kakashi and Guy also sensed that something was seriously wrong.

But before either of them could react, their figures had already vanished from where they stood.

"Bastards! You just ran off?! You didn't even give me an answer yet!"

Seeing this, Hidan flew into a rage—but then he, too, noticed what was happening in the distance.

"Huh? What the hell is going on now?"

He scratched his head in confusion—and in the very next moment, even his supposedly immortal body began to shatter violently.

...

"What's happening?"

Within Kamui's dimension, Uchiha Obito was steadily making his way toward the Land of Wind.

If he wanted to make sure Kakuzu and the others survived, he would have to intervene personally. But now, something else had caught his attention—three strange creatures had suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Wait a minute… these look like Kakuzu's work? Hold on—Kakashi?!"

In a flash, it all clicked for Obito.

That worthless Kakashi must have used his ability to set Kakuzu up!

"Damn it."

He couldn't afford to waste any more time. Mangekyō spinning rapidly, Obito's form blinked through space and appeared at the coordinates Black Zetsu had provided.

As the air twisted and warped, his figure began to phase into the battlefield—but before he could fully emerge, a flood of white light came crashing toward him.
