Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: 500 Million Volts

Kaito rolled his shoulders slightly and sighed inwardly. First Kaido, and now Shanks—this workload today was insane. He was starting to understand why Kizaru slacked off so much. Taking it easy really was the way to go.

Kalifa looked at him with concern.

"Boss, is your body still okay?"

Kaito flashed her a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry. I've got plenty left in the tank."

Ace and Yamato, standing nearby, both had stars in their eyes. After all, the man standing across from them wasn't just anyone—he was one of the Four Emperors, Red-Haired Shanks!

And yet Kaito stood there perfectly composed, as if this were nothing. He really was an incredibly powerful man.

Especially for Yamato, who had personally witnessed how Kaito defeated her father, Kaido. And now she had a front-row seat to his battle against Red-Haired Shanks. For someone who had just gained her freedom, this was about as thrilling as it got.

Her idea of the "greatest man" was rapidly shifting. She was even considering giving herself a new title. No more going by her master's full name—maybe she'd just call herself Uchiha Yamato from now on.

Kaito, of course, had no idea that the nearly extinct Uchiha clan had just gained a towering 2.6-meter-tall woman with wild ambitions.

Looking at Shanks, he said calmly:

"One of the Four Emperors, Red-Haired Shanks, showing up personally in a tiny village like Foosha… You must have a lot of time on your hands."

Shanks gave a half-smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"Just here to visit an old friend. Doesn't Vice Admiral Violet Garp have friends here too?"

As he spoke, he glanced at Makino behind Kaito. When she'd said she'd call someone "really, really powerful," he hadn't taken it seriously at the time. He knew what kind of place the East Blue was, after all. Like hell Makino could call someone like Garp over with just one phone call.

And even if she did get Garp, how long would it take to get here from Marineford? By the time he arrived, Shanks would've already wrapped things up—maybe even swung by to spar with Mihawk for a bit.

What he hadn't accounted for was that Makino would actually summon a heavyweight like Uchiha Kaito. How did the two of them even know each other?

This was like using a razor blade to slice open your own backside—painful and eye-opening.

But it was too late for regrets. Shanks drew the sword at his waist. He knew there was no avoiding this fight.

Still, he wasn't too anxious. In his mind, there was no way this island could handle a full-power clash between him and Kaito. It'd probably be a few exchanges and done—no one would go all out.

Kaito, meanwhile, reopened the Door-Door Space and ushered the others in. Ace didn't forget to carry Luffy inside. Shanks didn't interfere. He understood—this was protection.

Sure, they'd hold back, but this forest wasn't going to survive.

Once everyone was safe, Kaito and Shanks locked eyes. In the next instant, Conqueror's Haki exploded from both of them. One red. One violet. The two auras collided violently at the center between them.

A pitch-black fissure ripped open in the air above them—the mark of a true clash between Emperor-tier beings. Very few could withstand the crushing pressure this kind of confrontation released.

Around them, there wasn't a single patch of undamaged ground. Deep cracks crisscrossed the earth like spiderwebs, making it seem like the land might collapse at any second.

This wasn't ordinary Conqueror's Haki—it carried physical damage. It could do far more than just knock out the weak; ordinary people wouldn't even last a second. They'd die on the spot.

After a few moments of stalemate, the violet aura finally began to push back the red. Shanks' Haki was being overwhelmed.

His expression darkened.

Among the Four Emperors, he was the only one without a Devil Fruit. What had elevated him to that level was his mastery of Conqueror's Haki—his pride and foundation.

And now even that was losing ground. It was hard for him to accept.

Seeing his momentum falter, Shanks' eyes flashed red and black. His sword quivered, now wrapped in a dark red and black lightning-like Haki.

With a blur of motion, he appeared above Kaito. His blade crackled violently as he called out in a deep voice:

"Divine Departure!"

Hearing that familiar name, Kaito smirked inwardly.

No wonder he was on Roger's crew—this technique is practically passed down.

A black staff crackling with purple lightning appeared in his hand. Kaito swung upward to meet the descending strike—and shouted, with no small amount of mischief:

"Thunder Bagua!"

In midair, Shanks' mouth twitched slightly, but his grip didn't falter. This wasn't the time to get distracted—hesitation meant death.

BOOM!

Their weapons collided, creating a pitch-black energy sphere that released terrifying shockwaves. The ground beneath them could no longer hold—it completely caved in.

The landscape was annihilated. Trees flattened. The earth became a cratered basin.

Kaito forcefully swung his staff, and Shanks used the recoil to leap back to his original position.

As he landed, Shanks took in the ruined surroundings from the corner of his eye. His heart sank. This fight was already way beyond what he'd expected. If it kept escalating, they might not be able to stop it.

He opened his mouth to try for a truce. He really didn't want to keep fighting.

But when his eyes met Kaito's, his face changed instantly.

Kaito's Rinnegan had transformed into two orbs of blinding violet electricity. He raised his now-elemental arm and launched a thick bolt of lightning into the sky.

The bolt pierced the clouds—and in the blink of an eye, thunderclouds covered the entire sky. Roars of thunder echoed across the island.

Shanks' nerves were taut. He knew Kaito had the powers of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. And in the hands of someone like him, a top-tier natural ability like that would be exponentially more dangerous.

Shanks may not have eaten a Devil Fruit, but even he acknowledged how much power the right one could add.

Gradually, the chaos in the sky began to settle. Silence returned—except for the occasional crackle of violet lightning, as if heralding something terrible.

Shanks tightened his grip on his sword. His Observation Haki was going wild with alarms. He could feel it—some unknown danger had locked onto him. And its source was above.

The lightning in Kaito's eyes faded, replaced by a deep, meaningful smile.

He raised his hand and made a pressing gesture.

In a quiet voice, he said:

"500 Million Volts."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a massive violet Kirin's head emerged from the thunderclouds. It had the aura of a sentient beast, and the moment it appeared, it locked eyes on Shanks.

This technique was inspired by Sasuke's Kirin from Naruto, but Kaito's Violet Kirin was leagues more powerful. It didn't need weather conditions. It didn't require pre-released Fire Style. And most importantly—it was insanely fast.

So fast that without some special ability, dodging it with just your body was practically impossible. In the original Naruto, Sasuke had forced Itachi to reveal his Susanoo with this very move.

Shanks broke into a cold sweat from the sheer intensity of it. He channeled all his Haki to reinforce his body. His Observation Haki was screaming at him—If you don't go all out, you'll die.

But before he could fully prepare—

The Violet Kirin had already struck.

It descended at supersonic speed, swallowing everything in its path.

The battlefield vanished into a blinding sea of lightning. When the light finally faded…

Only silence remained.

And a vast stretch of scorched black earth.
