Chapter 131 - Chapter 131: Asura vs Azure Dragon

Inside the Door-Door Space,

Yamato stared blankly at Kaito, whose body had transformed into a terrifying Asura form. Even through the space barrier, she could still feel the immense pressure radiating off of him.

Kalifa, on the other hand, wore a proud expression as she said to Yamato,

"This is the boss's power—Human-Human Fruit, Mythical Zoan Model: Asura Form!"

She had deduced it from the four arms that had sprouted from Kaito's back.

It looked so over-the-top because the boss's strength was simply that overwhelming. This was the legendary awakened state of a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit!

Yamato understood this clearly. After all, Kaido himself had achieved Mythical Zoan awakening. Yamato was also a Mythical Zoan user—hers being the Dog-Dog Fruit, Okuchi-no-Makami.

It was an extremely powerful fruit, and her own talent wasn't lacking either. Yet even so, she had never managed to awaken it.

But now, Kaito—who was younger than her—had pulled it off so effortlessly. For the first time, she felt utterly outclassed in terms of talent.

It seemed Kalifa was right. Maybe he really wasn't afraid of her father, Kaido. Because anyone who could push a Mythical Zoan to the level of awakening had every right to say that.

...

Outside the Door-Door Space,

The four arms behind Kaito gave off a mechanical click-clack sound as they transformed into four pitch-black cannons, all aimed high at Kaido above.

"Asura's Barrage!"

Vmm! A terrifying surge of energy gathered—four thick beams of light erupted from the cannons behind Kaito, blasting straight toward Kaido.

Kaido's huge dragon eyes went wide in shock.

He'd seen lasers before—Kizaru liked to mess around with them—but these four were each almost as thick as his dragon-transformed neck. It was something else entirely.

And they were fast. Too fast. His current massive form made dodging impossible, so Kaido had no choice but to tank it head-on with his dragon body.

In the blink of an eye—

All four beams slammed into Kaido's dragon body simultaneously, shattering his azure scales and leaving behind four charred, round burn marks on his exposed flesh. The scent of roasting meat filled the air.

Kaido roared in pain. His massive frame twisted in midair before diving headfirst toward the ground—straight at Kaito.

Seeing Kaido plummeting, Kaito leapt up, leaving two massive footprints in the earth behind him.

Before Kaido could land, Kaito reached up and grabbed him. The other five arms followed instantly, all locking tightly onto Kaido's body.

With a burst of power from all six arms, Kaito hurled Kaido straight into the ground.

BOOM!

A deafening crash rang out. Kaido's colossal dragon form tore a gaping trench into the earth, sending a dense cloud of smoke into the air.

Kaito stared down at the billowing dust below, expressionless. Just as he was about to dive in—

"Captain!"

A sharp voice called out—it was King, arriving just in time.

He was in full Beast Form now, transformed into a pitch-black pterosaur. Even in that form, his size was considerable—but compared to Asura-transformed Kaito, he looked more like a sparrow.

Kaito raised one hand and slapped toward the incoming King.

Facing Kaito's enormous, sky-darkening palm, King's pupils shrank in shock.

What the hell is this monster?! he thought. But his body reacted swiftly—his pterosaur form gave a significant boost to his speed, allowing him to narrowly evade the strike.

The missed hit made Kaito raise an eyebrow.

Another one who likes aerial combat, huh? Looks like I'll have to teach him a lesson.

Kaito extended a hand toward King and used Universal Pull.

In his Asura form, the scale of Universal Pull was absolutely massive. Once the gravitational force kicked in, King had no chance to escape. He was completely helpless against it.

SMACK! King was pulled straight into Kaito's palm. With a quick squeeze, Kaito locked him in his grasp.

One small squeeze, and King would turn into a pulp—but Kaito held back. That would just be gross.

Instead, he raised his arm and hurled King like a black bullet into the still-thick cloud of smoke where Kaido had crashed.

King vanished into the dust. A moment later, a fierce wind swept the battlefield, dispersing the smoke.

There, Kaido reemerged—now in his most battle-ready hybrid form. He held King in a bridal carry, giving off an oddly intense vibe.

Kaito's mouth twitched.

From his vantage point, he could clearly see the four round burn marks still on Kaido's back—smaller now, but looking suspiciously like fire cupping marks.

Kaido checked King's condition with visible concern. Finding him merely unconscious and otherwise unharmed, he sighed in relief.

King was his most trusted subordinate—Kaido had no intention of losing him here.

Gently placing King down, Kaido looked up. His gaze locked calmly with Kaito's—but Kaito could see it clearly: behind those eyes, flames of fury were burning wild.

In reality, Kaido genuinely cared for his subordinates.

Kaido stared daggers at the airborne Kaito, then reached somewhere unknown and pulled out his massive spiked club. Conqueror's Haki surged up his arm and wrapped around the weapon, purple-black lightning crackling wildly.

With a roar, he swung it hard at the air—

A massive blast of purple energy shot forth, hurtling straight at Kaito.

This wasn't Kaito's first time facing Conqueror's Haki-infused attacks—back on Sabaody, he had experienced it firsthand from Rayleigh. But this one looked even more overwhelming than Rayleigh's.

Without hesitation, Kaito activated Advanced Armament.

Six arms crossed in front of his chest, braced to meet the attack head-on.

BOOM! Kaido's strike slammed into Kaito's hands. A blinding flash erupted, and the shockwave carved out crater after crater in the land below.

As the energy dispersed, white smoke curled from Kaito's palms. He drew his arms back and exhaled softly.

His body began to shrink, slowly returning to a size comparable to Kaido's—around seven meters tall.

The Asura markings remained, as did the four arms on his back—Kaito was still in his Asura form. This was the optimal size for fighting Kaido.

Floating down from the sky, Kaito had already made up his mind—it was time for a true one-on-one battle between men.

He was especially curious about Kaido's mastery of Conqueror's Haki infusion.

After all, that was the current meta—and since he had Conqueror's Haki too, there was no way he'd miss out on a high-efficiency crash course from "Professor Kaido."
