Chapter 50 - Survive

"Once a long time ago, someone told me, everyone has a weakness, perhaps some don't. And the weakness is their mind, their self-control, and pressure." Maria said after some moments as she was continuously smiling.

"Just like them, you are under pressure, you are under great pressure from the presence of my magic power. You're wondering about how you'll survive now that I've got my magic power back." Maria added while keeping her smile intact.

As Raya was sweating, she tried her best to hide the tension she was holding in her mind. But her expression betrayed her and continuously revealed her tense expression. Raya deeply glared toward Maria and spoke up with a broken voice, "E-even though you got your magic power back… you can't use it on me as I'm inside the dream world's laws, you can't harm me with your magic power."

Raya was trembling pretty much as her voice couldn't bring out her words strongly. While speaking, her voice wasn't working well, continuously blocking her words out of tremble.

Maria deeply glared at Raya while smiling and then returned her gaze back to her own thoughts while staring at the sky, "Well, you are not really wrong. I can't harm you physically."

"Let me think a bit." Maria added while making an expression like a person who had fallen in the sea of thoughts.

"Aah yeah, it seems like I've found a way now." Maria said with a bright smile afterward. She smiled pretty wide and brightly toward Raya with her glowing eyes.

It seems like I really saw through this much. I knew that the fog dimension magic would be really helpful for Maria in the future. And seems like the future is here, it's the present now.

After some days passed since we met Marco and Maria, I taught Maria multiple magic spells. Fog dimension was part of the magic spells. I taught her every magic spell she would need in the future, following the events she would face.

As I returned back to Maria's spectator, she appeared to smile widely while looking toward the sky.

"I still can't believe, he really managed to anticipate this, that's truly crazy." Maria thought to herself. She smiled a bit afterward, it was a different smile unlike earlier. It was a smile coming from her soul as a reaction to her words toward me. She realized that as long as I'm around her, I won't let her die. While she was worried about her demise, she wasn't holding any sort of trust in me, she thought it was her conclusion.

However, I decided to change the stories with my own hands, as the principle of my current self. While I was wondering if these stories really matter to me, if these characters really matter to me, I finally concluded my thoughts by coming to this decision: I will change the stories the way I want, even if this takes my life, I won't stop, even for a second.

As Maria figured out her way, she drew a magic circle similar to mine. Pieces of fog began to come out from her magic circle as within a few seconds, the fogs created a new domain inside my own dimension. Though our spell was similar, the fog she created was blue like the sky.

The sky-blue fogs began to scatter around and in a few seconds, they covered the entire room under them, leaving only Raya outside the domain. Even if she moved from her step, the sky-blue fog would also move from that spot. It was almost like she was standing in her own domain and the sky-blue fog was part of causality. The blue fogs began to rotate all around Raya. Raya's sweat sped up more as she was trembling even more while taking extremely agile breaths.

"Do you know how to make someone lose control over their mind? Well, there are many ways but the best one is to…" Maria said while intentionally glaring toward Raya. Without finishing her sentence, she lifted up her right hand and pointed toward Raya. Her eyes slowly began to change by revealing a blue dragon symbol inside them. The dragon symbol began to rotate inside her eyes. A spiritual bow came out of her eyes and instantly entered Raya's eyes. Out of the pressure of Maria's spiritual force, Raya multiplied her steps back from her position while holding her head tightly.

She sat down in her spot while pressing her head with her hands. For some seconds, Raya remained silent like that. And then, she began to scream extremely loudly while pressing her head even more tightly. She began to run around while screaming pretty loudly.

"W-what have you done to me???" Raya shouted while screaming.

Maria stepped back a bit and said with a smile, "Magic can't be used inside the dream world, you say, that's really nice but it seems like I can't be nice any further."

"It's clear now, you won't survive for so long. So now, let me tell you the interesting game I played earlier." Maria added after taking a breath. She opened her eyes widely and then smiled once again. Then she wore a serious expression on her face while keeping her glaring gaze on Raya.

"To break someone's mental strength, you have to put something in their mind that can't be measured by their mind, that's my game." Maria said calmly.

"The spiritual bow I sent into your mind wasn't merely a bow. It was the infinite amount of information that I had in my memory. Normally, I lost them along with my magic power but after getting back my magic, they're no longer away from me. Using the bow, I sent all the information into your mind and which turned out to be the reason of why your weakened mind is about to be shattered."

"You can't think of the amount of information you have in your head. Slowly, the information will explode your brain and kill you." Maria explained. She was taking long breaths after finishing her sentences.

"You may wonder about how I was able to break the law of the dream world while you're inside the dream world. Were you really inside the dream world while my bow entering inside your brain? No, you became part of my fog dimension on that very moment. It was less than a moment, less than any amount of time you can ever think of." Maria added as she changed her serious expression to a smiling face.

While Maria was explaining, Raya's brain cells began to shatter one by one. Following that, In a few moments, her entire brain shattered into mist as her head as well as her brain was also destroyed into mist.

Raya's entire body fell on the ground as her soul left her body without much time. Maria slowly calm down her fog dimension magic and removed all the pieces of sky-blue fog from that area. I also removed my fog dimension spell from that castle.

Without looking toward Raya for further moments, Maria slowly walked away toward the exit of the castle.

While exiting, Maria smiled a bit and shut her eyes. She took a long breath and said while keeping her smile intact, "It seems like I survived. You better not remember what I said while leaving, Aizis. I know you are watching over us."

I laughed at her sentence. It seems she was really ready for her demise at that moment, but she survived and is feeling embarrassed now. Maybe it's better for her to survive, could be that she survived for her fate or her own will. I don't need the answer, I just want her to keep existing.

As Maria managed to conclude her goal perfectly, I changed my spectator from Maria to Elesia's. However, the thing I saw there wasn't something I was wishing to see. The things I was worried about Elesia appeared to be happening. Apparently, Elesia was facing some consequences. Alzik wasn't really as innocent and calm as he appeared to be with his closed eyes and adored expression. While talking with Elesia, he managed to nearly destroy her mental strength as her soul damage reached 98% from 95%. As her soul continuously fell from its stronghold, she sat on the ground due to lack of strength to keep standing strong.

I felt a bit worried about that. Frankly, I had absolutely no reason to be sad or worried about Elesia, someone I met a few days ago and had no connection to be bound with. I wasn't wishing her to survive, I wasn't worried even for a bit.

But my emotionless friend taught me something. Though it wasn't really something I learned throughout my journey with him, but something that appeared to be lacking in myself. I can't sacrifice myself for just everyone like Raizel. I'm selfish, I do what I am supposed to do for my loved ones, but is this something I am supposed to be alike?

I doubt, that's why I'm trying to be like him, I'm trying to copy the way he sacrificed himself for everyone. It can be that he's doing this for a certain order but, it was something that made me realize something certain, something I was wrong about.

And that's why, a little piece of worry appeared in the corner of my eyes, in my expression. I wanted to love Elesia, love everyone by removing my selfishness. Could be that, it's really hard to change but, I can try, I can really attempt to change, try to remove the flaw I'm holding in myself.

I returned back to the spectator from my internal thoughts. Elesia's soul was slowly reaching a 99% damage rate. I knew what I was actually supposed to do but I also knew that if I were to do it right there, on that very moment then things would change, change in some shape I don't like to be alike. So I decided to wait, wait for the miracle to happen.

"Everyone is bound by a certain destiny. No matter how much you try, you can't transcend your boundary." Alzik said while keeping the casual smile on his face. His smile was nearly natural, in every situation and causality, he was smiling without a conclusion. It was more like a casual expression for him than anything, similar to his closed eyes.

Alzik lifted his gaze a bit up toward Elesia and said, "And here is the conclusion you are holding, your final destiny to reach."

"No, no, no. This can't be true, I don't want to die here, I can't die here." Elesia whispered while pressing her head tightly.

"Yes, that's the causality that's supposed to happen, your fated present." Alzik replied to Elesia's whisper.

Some fog alike pieces of flashing gold appeared inside the castle, behind Alzik. Soon, the pieces of gold began to reduce their size and create countless amount of extremely small pieces of gold all around there. While rotating around the area, the scattered gold pieces began to create something, it appeared to be similar to a symbol of a person.

At that moment, an unknown voice appeared to be heard.

"They say, once a long time ago, mortals used to be saint-like. They were innocent, they were kind, they used to be the definition of purity."

"But they changed, they became selfish, they became fools, stupid and so blood-lusting that they became vampire-like. They adore, they kill, they help, they go ahead and smile, everything just for their own selfishness and the stupid concept they call 'emotion, the pathetic excuse of chaos'."

"It's hilarious to see the same causality happening over and over, don't you think so, Mister Aizis?" The strange voice said calmly. His voice appeared pretty calm and gentle, similar to a young boys. However, there was an unknown strength in his voice that was changing the atmosphere of the castle, creating an effective and heavy presence.

Following that, the countless pieces of gold concluded their process by revealing the presence of a person. A tall person with long blonde hair and golden eyes. His apparent age was 30, could be a bit more. However, his effective and muscular body appearance changed the measurement of his age. He was wearing a long golden-dark coat. His gaze and expression were gentle but extremely effective which turned out to be the reason for the demise of the gentleness he was holding in his face. He slowly set his foot on the ground of the castle. His presence with golden magic power was making a bone-chilling atmosphere around there, as if a golden dragon appeared and was about to annihilate everything in a single breath.

He lifted up his gaze toward ahead and said with a smile, "Tell me Mister, how am I supposed to believe all those stories of mortals' kindness, after witnessing all this chaos and cruelty of the mortals? Those historians are stupid, aren't they?"

I smiled back toward his gaze as a reply, "It's been a while, Arfanez."
