The retainer, Azir in front of Marco finally spoke up. He smiled strangely one more time and raised his voice, "It's really nice for me to see my vessel, the physical appearance that I will take over very soon, don't you think so, Marco?"
Marco smiled widely as a reply and said while keeping his smile, "I believe anyone can be confident over their capability but, it's really sad for me to see a little useful piece of chess stock trying to threaten me with his pathetic usage of words."
"I won't be surprised to see a little ant trying to ascend higher but, look at yourself, you are a soulless piece of crap who can't even step ahead on his own." Marco added afterward, revealing a sarcastic smile at the corner of his lip.
"This can be applied to me. I'm definitely a chess stock but who will give you the surety of victory over a chess stock? I'm afraid, a little piece of ant will be shattered in the presence of a chess stock." Azir replied with a smile.
"We will definitely find this out very soon. Even though it's my victory, I don't mind giving you a chance to smile one more time." Marco replied, a wide presence of a sinister smile appeared on his face, giving the warning of disaster.
Azir smiled back a sinister smile as a reply. His eyes were glowing out of intensity and desire, desire to destroy Marco as soon as he can.
I changed the perception magic to Maria's castle. It seems like similar to Marco, Maria was having a little chat with Raya.
"I won't blame you for that but it's your luck that led you here, to your demise." Raya said with her soft voice as she sounded pretty gentle. She smiled a bit afterward by lifting up her gaze toward Maria.
"I'm not so sure about that, you know. My demise is something that will be in front of me at the very moment when I make a mistake but, I refuse to believe that the time is here already." Maria replied with a smile.
"Your existence itself sounds like a mistake to me. Definitely a pathetic mortal such as yourself will never be a part of the causality. Lower layers are nothing more than a piece of paper. You guys are irrelevant and meaningless in front of upper layers." Raya yelled with glaring eyes. Her eyes were glowing as they were giving a message of hatred and desire for destruction. They're revealing the ego and hatred Raya was holding.
Maria smiled a bit toward Raya and put her gaze a bit down. She lifted her hand a bit in front of her eyes and gently looked toward them. While keeping her gaze toward her hands, she spoke up, "Does the difference of existence really make some huge difference? If so then why are the morals of the mortals still the same, why are they selfish everywhere, why are they foolish in every corner of existence itself?"
"They fall behind, meet their demise, cry and then, they regret what they did. They try to recover their mistakes then they do the same mistakes over and over. They're foolish, they can't change, they can't be a true mortal, they can't be a true mortal without a flaw." Maria added. Her voice was pretty heavy as her gaze was getting intentional toward her hands. Her words weren't coming from her voice but from her soul. They weren't words, they were the pieces of memories she was remembering, some memories that were keep taunting her at that very moment.
Maria smiled once again while keeping her gaze intact toward her hands. She slowly lifted up her head toward Raya and smiled much more widely.
"And that's why, you'll be demolished right here, right in this moment." Maria said a bit loudly while keeping her wide smile on her lip.
Raya smiled toward Maria. Her face turned much more intent as her smile was. Her eyes were holding an insane amount of traces, traces of desire to destroy Maria right there.
"I will definitely take over your body and then, I will show you what true salvation is." Raya said while keeping her expression intact.
As for Elesia, she was listening to something. Her retainer Alzik was telling her some sort of story. I'm pretty sure he was aware of her weakness. He's well aware that her heart and soul can't take any sort of story that carries tragedy and destruction. When Elesia listens to any sort of inhuman destruction and death of innocent mortals, she simply loses her control over her mind. While in her current state as a normal mortal being, it's pretty much impossible for her to take some sort of story that carries a tale of destruction and death. It's not her actual soul that can't carry visual destruction and death but the soul she's holding now. Due to her soul being damaged more than 95%, a bit of a fall of her mind and soul causes serious problems. To cure that, it was the best way to take over the powers of a retainer and strengthen her soul.
While watching Marco and Maria's confident smiles, I had a hope that Elesia will surely overcome her weakness and conclude her mission perfectly.
A piece of smile appeared at the corner of my lip. It seems like my soul finally found a bit of hope. I don't know what that was but a heavy pressure suddenly left my heart. I felt like someone removed a huge piece of rock from my chest, something that was killing me but an unknown strength removed it and released me from my death.
"I don't really understand the feeling but….it seems like some strange barrier was forcing my emotions to be held back." I whispered as my voice sounded pretty gentle unlike my casual strengthened voice.
I then slowly focused on my perception magic which was showing me the current scenario of the castle Marco's in.
The scenario was interesting and did surprise me a bit. I won't say it surprised me but will say, the scenario reminded me of something nearly forgotten. When was the last time you argued like this, Marco? I wonder.
Marco smiled a bit toward Azir and spoke to him, "No one truly exists without a root, without a reason behind the things they're doing and wants to do. A similar thing could be applied to you too, don't you think so, Azir?"
Azir narrowed his glare toward Marco and smiled a little more widely.
"Indeed, this can be applied to anyone, you know. I really want to find someone as an exception but you know what, it's nearly impossible in existence." Azir said with a smile. His voice sounded much gentler and softer as he spoke pretty casually.
"Mortals are hilarious as always. They smile when the world stands with them, and cry when the world goes against them. They can't love the world without their own satisfaction and can't cry in the sorrow of the world, of the others. They are selfish like they always were." Marco whispered. His voice appeared to be extremely calm and gentle as his expression was. While speaking, something was allowing him to express his feelings, his words for the creation.
"However, I've found some exceptions. Beside 'him', I've found Raizel who was holding a difference, existing as a flaw of the creation's law, as a flaw that contradicted the wrong idea of existence and is eventually going to fix the wrong idea. And then, existence will become a true and perfect story." Marco added then. His tone was intactly similar to his previous sentences.
"Him?" Azir asked with a pretty surprised expression.
"Yes, 'Him'. Indeed he was never been someone I would like to be with but, was he wrong? I really do wonder, wonder if it's me or him who was wrong. At the end, we both fell, but in different paths, for completely different reasons. Perhaps, I was right and he was wrong. Perhaps he was right, I was wrong. I just don't know." Marco replied. He was speaking pretty slowly as he was taking a break in every sentence and speaking while keeping his gaze intact toward the ground.
"Hilarious and ironic jokes that the mortals show aren't really new, you know. But inside the idea of their selfishness and hilarious belief over ascension, there is a piece of truth. The truth is, mortals ascend higher to conquer. They do it and then, they smile, they laugh, they conclude their story the way they wanted from the beginning." Azir replied to Marco. While his idea and thoughts sounded pretty wrong to me, it was understandable for me. I can see the similar idea among the mortals, their belief over ascension, their belief in superiority.
I smiled a bit and then spoke to myself calmly as my voice was really soft like earlier.
"It's really hilarious for me to witness such an idea coming from them. They ascend, they become stronger and then, they die. It's an absolutely pathetic idea of being stronger and running toward a worse and worse conclusion. Mortals want to be stronger, just to witness a worse scenario, just to witness the foolish side of their own self. They ascend to be destroyed, exist to be destroyed and then, become history, the way they were fated to be, from the beginning of the story."
Then I smiled one more times, gently stare toward the sky and closed my eyes for a moment, took a long breath to refresh myself a bit.
