It was midnight. The streets of Kuala Lumpur fell silent, and the neon lights faded into darkness.
Lin Ze sat nervously in his old Proton Saga. His palms were sweaty as he stared at the countdown on his livestream app.
"Are you really doing this?" his friend Xiao Hei asked from the passenger seat, chewing an unlit cigarette.
Lin Ze forced a smile. "Come on, this is how we make money, right? Our fans are waiting. Tonight, we hit one million followers!"
Outside the window, a broken warning sign stood crookedly:
"Warning: Do Not Enter. Enter at Your Own Risk."

"Lin bro, you've got balls! Bukit Tunku at midnight? Damn!"
"He's gonna livestream his own funeral!"
"Brothers, witness the legend tonight!"
With a deep breath, Lin Ze adjusted his chest-mounted camera and switched on the night vision.
"Welcome to 'Midnight Explorations.' Tonight, we challenge Kuala Lumpur's most haunted place—Bukit Tunku!"
A strange jasmine scent drifted through the air.
Lin Ze frowned. Jasmine? Out here?
Then, his viewers started spamming the chat again.

"You guys smell that? Even through the screen!"
"Bro, don't go up! Something's wrong!"
"It's the Pontianak! They say she smells like jasmine before she appears…"
Lin Ze laughed nervously. "Relax, guys. It's all part of the atmosphere."
He stepped out into the dark. The path to the top of Bukit Tunku loomed ahead. Shadows twisted in his night vision like ghostly hands.
Suddenly, something flickered at the edge of the camera view.

"Did anyone else see that?!"
"Left side! Under the tree! Someone's standing there!"
Lin Ze's heart raced. His fingers tightened on the red string bracelet he wore—an old superstition to ward off evil.
A soft, chilling female laugh echoed in his ears.
"Hehehe…"
Lin Ze spun around—there was nothing.
Yet the camera lens slowly focused on a banana tree up ahead. Under it stood an old, broken rattan chair.
And hanging from it… a white, blood-stained dress swayed gently in the wind.
