Chapter 2 - Reunion

Chapter Two

Daisy's POV.

My leg pressed the accelerator like I could outrun the agony I was feeling right now. I just wanted to see Ansel in any way possible. I wanted him to know the kind of damage he had done.

I had a miscarriage and it was his fault. If only, he had a break-up with me in a proper way. I wouldn't have to worry about all of these. I had to confront them all, even if it was going to be for the last time.

The shame was too much for me to consume and then act like nothing didn't happen between us today. Tears blurred my vision as I speed off the deserted highway. Suddenly, a car swerved in front of me forcing me out of the road.

"Shit shit shit—" I cussed, hitting the steering aggresively with my hair all over my face. All I could feel right now was pure anger.

I hope Lincoln wasn't going to meet up with me at the rate since he was chasing after me earlier. I stole his car control and then ran off as fast as my leg could carry.

Yeah! This is crazy intense for someone who had just lost her child.

I watched as some men came down from the car, and I noticed this wasn't just a mistake. They were putting on masks and they were all in black. Fear enveloped my heart at the moment.

Who the hell were they?

My heart racing, I flung open the door as they were approaching towards me and sprinted into the woods. I knew that they were here for me.

How come everything was happening to me today? It turned out that accident which almost happened was international. Who they heck were they?

I ran as fast as my leg could carry.

Footsteps pounded behind me, and I knew I wasn't alone. My hand slid into my hospital garment pocket bringing out my phone.

I already called the emergency number, and I wasn't sure if they were on their way. I tried calling Ansel, and he then picked up almost immediately.

"Please save me—" I pleaded, before my phone was kicked off from my hands.

Panic set in as rough hands grabbed me, spinning me around. Men's faces leered at me, their eyes cold and calculating. I watched as one of them kept on stepping on my phone continuously, shattering it into pieces.

I know there was no hope for me, maybe pleading with them will allow them to listen to me?

"Who sent you guys?" I questioned, tears flowing down my eyes. Today was really a bad day for me. How could I go through all of these just within the space of a day?

Were they sent to kidnap? "Why are you doing this to me? What did I do to the universe for me to deserve all of these?"

"Just shut the fuck up? You talk too much for someone who is about to die." One of them mentioned. I knew something was wrong somewhere. "You should blame your father for all of this happening to you. He gave you up and we wanted him to feel the pain of what he had done to one of us." One of them mentioned, as I then busted into laughter.

"If you really want to attack someone my father loves, you should have gone for my sister instead." I said amidst laughter. Man is just probably going to move on two days after my death, and then life moves on.

He wasn't going to feel anything! That was the kind of man my father was

"This was just going to serve as a warning to him." Another one of them said.

I tried running away again, but I was grabbed by one of the men before I could. I was hoping to stall more time, but everything was in vain.

I tried to struggle, but they were too strong. One of them raised a knife, and I felt a searing pain as the blade sliced into my side. I screamed, but my cry was drowned out by the sound of my own heartbeat.

My hand reached for my tummy, while I tried to apply pressure to the blood that wouldn't stop flowing out profusely.

"I would make sure you guys regret this." I fell unto the ground.

As I lay there, dazed and bleeding, they dragged me to the edge of a cliff. The ground dropped away beneath me, and I felt a rush of wind hitting my skin, probably slicing it!,

Time slowed as the last drop of tears streamed down my cheeks, closing my eyes slowly and then everything went blank.

ONE YEAR LATER

I stared at the scar through the huge mirror that was right at my front.

"Come inside." I heard a knock on my door which totally called for my attention, and I didn't need to think twice before I could tell that it was Donald Blackwood, my father, or let me just say someone who adopted me after the whole incident that happened one year ago.

He made life better for me and everything had been working out for me ever since then.

"Those scars are supposed to remind you of the people who did that to you and it will keep on pushing you to go get more revenge." He mentioned. I put down my shirt.

"What are you here for dad? It is very rare for you to enter my room this way. You must need something from me." I rolled my eyes, after I sat on the bed. "Just go straight to the point."

"We are moving out from here." He passed across the information to me.

"Oh! That's all? That's not a big problem at all. I can start packing my clothes now." I assured him, as he then took in a huge sigh. I could tell that it wasn't ordinary.

"We are moving back to los Angeles." He replied to me, my smile faded right immediately. What if I came across any of them during the stay there? A lot of questions came to my mind.

"Why? Is there anything wrong here? What is the issue?"

"I am done hiding." He stated. "I need to partner with a company there, and I have decided that you will be the one to represent me. We will be building a huge company, and they are the ones who are responsible for designing. We partnered with them." He informed me.

"I know, but—" I paused, gathering my thoughts. "How long have you been planning this for? Was this the reason why you have been teaching me a lot about your company and all?" I questioned him taking a huge breath.

"Yes, this is the little you can do to repay me." He sat on the bed, crossing his legs. Yes, this was the little thing that I could do to repay him. I wouldn't be alive if it weren't for him. "If I were you, I would want to show them how much stronger I've become. You have the money, you have my company, I can give you anything you want." He shrugged his arms like it was nothing.

It was a huge decision for me!

"Do you think it is okay going back to the people who almost had you killed? They didn't even bother to look for me after they realized that I might be dead." Tears streamed down my cheeks.

"If I were you, you know what I was going to do. Now I've given you a choice, you can stay here if you want to, or just go like I have suggested." He stood up, patting me as he then walked right out of the room, leaving me in a state of confusion.

*******

I was standing at a huge company right at my front. It's funny how I have never heard or seen this company before. I decided I was going to do exactly as Ronald said.

I heard it was a very popular company, and the founder was known to be one of the best architects. I was yet to do my findings about the company. Everything about this reminds me of Ansel. He is an architect and I wasn't sure if he still is.

My heart raced so fast on my way to LA, and now it is acting up again.

Giving it a second thought, the probability of coming across someone I knew is just the same as getting struck by a thunder. It barely happens.

I took the elevator up to the last floor since I will be meeting with the CEO of the company on the last floor.

I knocked on the door as I entered the room filled with ambience. It looked so perfect, just like the one in movies.

Yes! The Donald office was great, but this was just breathtaking and modern at the same time.

I looked forward, reminding myself of the reason why I was here in the first place. The man who I assumed to be the CEO was standing right in the room.

I wasn't sure if he noticed my presence. He was staring through the glass walls.

"Good morning sir." I greeted, with my head bowed. "Uhm, there was no one standing at the entrance of your door, so I just decided to come in." He turned right immediately I explained.

"That voice." His voice resonated in my ears. Ansel frickin Ryder!

I guess I was wrong about the thunder of a thing.
