Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Billionaire’s Interest

Dante's POV

From the mezzanine balcony, I watched her.

The red dress shimmered like liquid fire against her skin, clinging to her body like it had been sculpted just for her. Ava Sterling—no longer Lorne.

I had heard about her, but didn't really pay attention and now I regretted why I hadn't.

From the moment she stood at the staircase.

My steps halted abruptly as a delectable fragrance wrapped around his brain.

Mine, his wolf purred. Our mate.

My mind sped up at the realization of who this woman was.

This was unbelievable.

After years of waiting, all my mates had been long married with pups.

I had accepted the fact that maybe the Moon Goddess didn't bless me with a mate.

But I was so wrong, She had kept the best for me.

And here she stood.

Like a queen.

She was everything I never knew I needed.

I knew my wolf wouldn't let me be until we met her

So I stood their watching and waiting as she walked down the stairs

She looked so ethereal

A zing of electricity traveled up my spine, sending a wave of energy and heat down my spine and everywhere else at the moment our skin touched, I knew at that moment that I would do anything for her.

I had heard about how she took over Sterling Enterprises

Although I always didn't stay long in the city, I knew her father, he was a lowlife and a cunning one at that.

All that didn't matter right now I would overlook all that.

She was here.

My mate.

My Luna.

She didn't know all that yet. But I would ease her into my world

She was the new chairwoman of Sterling Enterprises, but I knew that wasn't the end of her ambitions. Not with that look in her eyes. I would give her everything thing she wanted if she accepted me and my wolf.

I knew that even if she didn't accept us, I would still support her

My wolf wouldn't let him hate her even though we would be heartbroken.

My attention flicked to the side when Theo my friend and Beta approached.

"Is that her?" He asked. "Ava Lorne?"

We were so connected that we could feel each other's emotions. So I wasn't surprised when he asked.

And I knew that he was happy for me.

"Ava Sterling now," I replied, voice calm but firm.

My gaze dropped back to Ava, who was now locked in conversation with the mayor's wife. Even there, she was commanding the flow, shifting the power dynamic with every word.

"She is so beautiful," I said, setting his glass down. "And she is mine."
