Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Ōtsutsuki Toneri's Talent Traits

Chapter 2: Ōtsutsuki Toneri's Talent Traits

As a transmigrator, Izayoi had a higher narrative perspective—at least higher than anyone on this planet.

A thousand years had passed, and many believed the Sage of Six Paths and the origin of ninjutsu were merely mythical figures and legends.

But Izayoi knew—they were real.

He also knew that the Sage of Six Paths had a mother, and a younger brother.

After the two brothers sealed their mother together, the Sage became the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki and embarked on a journey of redemption.

Ōtsutsuki Hamura, on the other hand, took wives and had children, developing the clan through descendants.

Once the Sage of Six Paths was no longer the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki, he placed the Gedo Statue on the moon.

To guard the Gedo Statue, Hamura led a branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan to relocate to the moon.

The descendants who remained on Earth gradually became what is now known as the Hyuga clan.

Just as the Sage of Six Paths possessed the ultimate dōjutsu, the Rinnegan, and his sons could awaken it by uniting two polar forces…

Hamura also possessed an ultimate eye technique: the Tenseigan, which held the power of creation and destruction.

His descendants could awaken the Tenseigan by fulfilling certain "unifying" conditions.

Unlike the Rinnegan, the Tenseigan could also be awakened through a secret method: by fusing many Byakugan together.

The branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan living on the moon eventually perished due to this very method.

At present, Ōtsutsuki Toneri is likely the only one left on the moon.

When Izayoi was three years old, a flash of inspiration made him give up copying Naruto or Sasuke's talent traits—for he thought of Toneri.

As a descendant of the branch family of the moon-dwelling Ōtsutsuki, Toneri had pure Ōtsutsuki blood—comparable to that of Ashura and Hagoromo themselves.

This purity gave Toneri a natural Sage's Body-like talent.

Even though Uchiha Madara only awakened the Rinnegan right before death after fusing Hashirama's cells, Toneri was able to evolve his Byakugan into the Tenseigan in just a few days.

Upon awakening it, he immediately entered the Tenseigan Chakra Mode, formed Truth-Seeking Orbs, and used both the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, which could split the moon.

His talent and chakra were even more outrageous than Naruto or Sasuke.

If he came down from the moon to live on Earth, he would be the strongest "cheat" character of all.

And if he brought the massive Tenseigan as a medium, then unless Madara or Hashirama were resurrected—or Hagoromo himself intervened—the ninja world would be his to rule.

If he were a little more ruthless and had taken Hinata or Hanabi's Byakugan early on…

There would be no Shippuden—only The Legend of Toneri.

Unfortunately, Toneri was a delusional shut-in. Unless he believed the ninja world was truly beyond salvation—or until adulthood—he wouldn't leave the moon.

But Izayoi knew a secret: when Toneri was still a child, and his father was still alive, they once came to Earth and visited Konoha. Using the power of the giant Tenseigan as a medium, Toneri secretly saw Hinata once.

He fell for her at first sight—but never disturbed her life. Instead, he decided to come down and propose once he was an adult, based on some ancient promise.

What he didn't expect was… his "fiancée" already had someone she liked. It was all just his wishful thinking.

As for that silly, deluded shut-in, Izayoi had no real opinion.

He speculated that the year Toneri visited Earth was when Hinata turned three.

Because after her third birthday, Hizashi died in place of Hiashi, which slightly changed Hinata's standing in the clan.

Her personality afterward greatly disappointed Hiashi.

Hinata's grandest birthday party was that very year.

So Izayoi decided to bet everything.

He would use his only talent trait copy on Ōtsutsuki Toneri.

Naruto and Sasuke's talent traits could be obtained later, but Toneri's traits presented a once-in-a-lifetime chance. If he missed it, he'd have to wait until two years after Shippuden ended.

Now, looking at the system panel, Izayoi knew he made the right bet.

He didn't just roam around the Hyuga compound aimlessly during Hinata's third birthday—he had been scouting for the entire year.

Appearances can lie, but talent traits never do.

No matter what disguise Toneri or his father used—unless they were puppets or completely invisible—they couldn't escape Izayoi's eyes.

Thanks to his effort and caution, Izayoi finally spotted the blind Toneri and his father in a crowd—on Hinata's third birthday, which also happened to be the day the Cloud delegation visited Konoha.

Honestly, the Cloud delegation was incredibly lucky.

If Toneri and his father had stayed until nighttime, and the Cloud team dared to kidnap Hinata, they would've been doomed.

But the father and son merely used the Tenseigan medium to glance at Hinata—who didn't attend the public celebration and had her birthday inside the Hyuga compound—and then left Konoha.

Toneri, who was born without eyes, didn't have the "Bloodline Limit: Byakugan" trait.

Nor did he have any low-tier traits.

He had only one high-tier trait, represented by a majestic red bubble: Ōtsutsuki Bloodline.

Izayoi had seen this trait in some Hyuga clan members before—but never in red.

Their trait appeared at most as blue.

Even Toneri's father only had the purple version—not even gold.

Only Toneri himself had the highest-tier red version of the Ōtsutsuki Bloodline.

Without any hesitation, Izayoi copied that trait.

In the three years since then, Izayoi began rewriting fate.

Upon his first chakra extraction, his "Chūnin Aptitude (Green)" trait upgraded to Kage-level Aptitude (Gold).

Meaning—so long as he didn't die young—he would surely grow into someone like Hashirama or Madara.

And if he ever transplanted Hinata or Hanabi's Byakugan and formed Truth-Seeking Orbs, he'd become a Six Paths–level existence.

A few months later, he unlocked another talent trait: All-Nature Affinity (Purple).

Turns out, Izayoi was like Tobirama, Hiruzen, Orochimaru, and Kakashi—he had affinity for all five chakra natures.

By age five, he unlocked yet another trait.

At that time, Izayoi was seriously frightened.

Because... he activated the Byakugan!

Yes—activated the Byakugan, not just had eyes that always looked like the Byakugan.

Due to the influence of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline, Izayoi's eyes were like Uzumaki Himawari's—they looked normal by default. When he activated the Byakugan, the veins around his temples would bulge, and his pupils would turn white.

This discovery made Izayoi breathe a sigh of relief.

Otherwise, he might have had to wear sunglasses all the time, or imitate Kakashi Hatake's disguise from the original series—posing as a reporter just to justify wearing colored contact lenses.
