Chapter 3 - An Orphan? That’s Wonderful!

Wang Dong'er's hands trembled uncontrollably, her sky-blue eyes filled with fear. As she flipped through the diary, every word was soaked in horror—cannibalism.

Tragically, she was merely the appetizer. The true main course? Huo Yuhao, the so-called Son of Destiny!

And the one treating them as food was none other than her biological father, whom she had never even met!

Wang Dong'er finally understood. She finally understood why she had no childhood memories, and why Niu Tian and Tai Tan always stumbled and avoided the question whenever she asked about her parents.

It wasn't that they didn't know her parents' whereabouts—they couldn't say. If they did, it might ruin her father's so-called ten-thousand-year grand plan!

How could a mere "fake person" like her, a soul-split proxy, ever compare in importance to that grand divine plan in Niu Tian and Tai Tan's eyes?

"So, I'm just a replacement, a fabricated existence? The love that Big Daddy and Second Daddy showed me... it was all fake, wasn't it?"

Wang Dong'er stared at the diary before her as tears of sorrow spilled uncontrollably from her eyes.

Star Dou Great Forest

One of the Ten Great Beasts, the Crimson King, looked at the motionless Auspicious Beast and couldn't help but appear and ask:

"What's wrong, Auspicious Beast? Weren't you going to look for food?"

The Auspicious Beast, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, didn't answer. She was focused intently on the sudden diary replica that had appeared in her mind.

At first, when she read that Huo Yuhao was the Son of Destiny of Douluo Continent, she scoffed.

She was just a beast born to elevate the luck of the Star Dou Forest, yet the other beasts took her so seriously—even sending the Crimson King to guard her during a food hunt.

She had only lived 15,000 years, but her cultivation barely reached the level of a 100,000-year soul beast—enough to contend with one.

If Huo Yuhao were truly the Son of Destiny, how could he have only become a Soul Master at twelve?

But the more she read, the more disturbed she became.

She knew about the Skydream Iceworm, that million-year soul beast. It had been captured by Di Tian and was now sealed in the Lake of Life, where its origin energy was slowly drained by the beasts.

This was a secret only top-tier soul beasts knew. No human could possibly know it.

After she began to believe the diary's content, she suddenly read something terrifyingly relevant to herself.

It said that if things followed the set path, she would one day sacrifice herself for Huo Yuhao, and even her soul had been tampered with by some god at an unknown time.

The soft golden fur on the Three-Eyed Golden Lion bristled in an instant, her pupils shrinking with fear.

She could no longer think of anything else. She bolted toward the Lake of Life, desperate for Di Tian to check if her soul had truly been manipulated.

Extreme North

When Ice Empress saw in the diary that the Skydream Iceworm had become Huo Yuhao's first spirit ring, she exploded in rage. An overwhelming aura burst from her, sweeping through her entire domain.

Snowflakes danced furiously, ice crystals swirled midair, reflecting dazzling light under the sun.

"Skydream! You bastard! You'd rather become a human's first ring than my meal?!"

Ice Empress was furious. She was nearing her 400,000-year limit, and in less than a hundred years, she'd face the 400,000-year tribulation. Based on her own understanding, surviving it was a near-impossible feat.

So when she learned that Skydream had become a million-year soul beast by consuming countless ten-thousand-year ice essence crystals, she had hoped to eat him—using his power to survive her tribulation.

Yet he not only escaped her repeated pursuits, he even fled the Extreme North. And now, he had become the first ring of a weak human child! The sheer despair that struck her heart was unbearable.

The later parts of the diary threw her emotions into even deeper chaos. Just when she was about to rage over the prediction that she would become Huo Yuhao's second spirit and spirit ring, she saw that Huo Yuhao would become the God of Emotions.

At first, she was hopeful. That would mean she might also gain eternal life.

But then she read that Huo Yuhaochose not to become a god, deciding to deviate from the established path. That sent Ice Empress into a frenzy.

And that final, blood-stirring line in the diary? It made her realize that Huo Yuhao might not have given up on divinity—he simply refused to be a dog-like God of Emotions!

This human boy's ambition was beyond anything she could have imagined!

He wanted to overthrow the Divine Realm itself!

Upon realizing that, Ice Empress' heart pounded wildly, and a great curiosity toward Huo Yuhao blossomed inside her.

"He gave up on the original path to godhood... And that bastard Skydream's soul was absorbed by the diary... so I probably won't become his spirit either. So... what should I do now?"

Irritated, Ice Empress flicked her sharply glowing tail hook. Her heart was full of frustration. If only she had never read that cursed diary replica—at least then she wouldn't be mourning the loss of eternal life that would've come from Huo Yuhao's ascension.

Now, with that chance gone and the looming tribulation less than a century away, she was growing more and more agitated.

Just then, a new line appeared in the diary that made her drop everything to read it immediately:

[He's here, he's here! Pei Pei the Lightning Prince is strutting in with his Blue Silver Saintess!]

[This was probably the moment when Tang God-King started eyeing my CPU spot! But sorry, I'm no obedient Huo-plug. Trying to tie me to Tang Sect? Yeah, good luck with that!]

Tang Ya glanced at the nearby wind baboon corpse with a hint of regret, then turned to Huo Yuhao and asked:

"Little Yuhao, did you already absorb the baboon's soul ring?"

Huo Yuhao smiled and nodded.

"Yes. I'm now a Soul Master too."

Hearing that, even Bei Bei sighed in disappointment. Becoming a Soul Master at twelve was already late, but to have a measly ten-year wind baboon as a first ring? Clearly, Huo Yuhao had no potential to become a powerhouse.

As Bei Bei was lamenting silently, Tang Ya shot him a look. He nodded and asked:

"Brother Huo, do you have any family left?"

Though he thought Huo Yuhao had no future, with the current state of Tang Sect, only someone like Huo Yuhao might even consider joining.

After all, not everyone was like Bei Bei, who had joined for Tang Ya's sake. And even if someone else did, it's not like he could offer Tang Ya to sweeten the deal.

Bei Bei wasn't into that kind of weird generosity!

Without hesitation, Huo Yuhao shook his head.

"No. I'm all alone now."

Tang Ya beamed with joy.

"That's wonderful!"
