Chapter 03

At that moment, the sky suddenly began to flutter with snow.

I hugged my injured arm and slumped against the corner,

watching from a distance as Jason Quinn had already picked up his son.

When he saw the boy,

there was no smile on his face.

He simply extinguished the cigarette in his hand and lowered his gaze as he took his son's hand.

Together, they turned and got into the car.

Maybe my gaze was too intense,

because, just before they entered the car,

the boy suddenly turned his head and stared directly at me.

I was covered in a mix of blood and snow,

looking a complete mess.

But without thinking, I smiled gently at that strikingly beautiful child.

The boy's gaze was as indifferent as his father's,

his eyes calm as he surveyed me,

unwavering and emotionless.

He simply looked at me.

By now, the bodyguard had already stepped aside and opened the car door.

The door slowly closed in front of my eyes,

and the car drove off without a second glance.
