Though Su Nian's overall results are average she did great in the college entrance examination securing seat in No. 1 college in city with scholarship. Many of the students became jealous of her. The college got full of rumour about her background and her bad reputation from countryside.
When Su Nian reached the college she saw every department had arranged for senior students to welcome the new ones.
There were signs and maps for each department to guide them.
Intending to go straight to register, she had only taken a few steps when a male student approached her, "Classmate, you're a freshman, right?"
Su Nian nodded, and the boy's eyes lit up, "Which school are you from?"
"School of Business, majoring in Economics" Su Nian replied.
"You're looking for the registration office, right? Let me take you there. I'm Lin Ray from Business department."
On the way they didn't talk much. The formalities were completed quickly .
The phone in her pocket vibrated gently. She frowned slightly and took out the phone from her pocket. She just received a message.
'Boss, some people are investigating you.'
Su Nian was quite surprised though her face didn't show any expression. She answered quickly.
'Who?'
' The Su Family and An Family.'
'Then let them know as we arranged.'
'Ok. By the way when will you visit the new office?'
'Not now, I have to study a bit .May be next month.'
Typing this she locked the phone and went to attend the lecture.
Then it was lunch time. Su Nian was drinking some juice. Someone pushed her from back and the juice was thrown on the dress of a rich student Rina. Rina got angry but didn't do anything and kept the revenge for later.
After lunch break when Su Nian walked into her classroom, she was met with a drama which was made for her.
"Where's my necklace?! Who stole it?!"
Everyone in class looked at each other strangely when the word "stole" flew out of Rina's mouth. The majority of students here came from wealthy families. Who would do such a thing?
"Was it Tina?" one student was quick to drop a name.
"Well, she's a scholar student and Rina always picks on her."
Another student snorted. "Is this her way of revenge? Goodness. What do you mean Rina is picking on her? Patricia's family is now supporting Tina's study since the school only shoulders her tuition and not her daily allowance."
As the hushed accusations slowly grew louder, Tina, who was sitting quietly at her desk, tensed up. She looked at her classmates incredulously.
"Why does the school allow people like her to step into this school?"
"I should tell my mom about this. Who wants to study when you have a thief as a classmate?"
"The problem with scholar students is that just because they're smart enough to get in this school, they think they're the same as us."
Tina's shoulders trembled, frightened at the foreseeable hatred she would be receiving from this day onward. Being picked on by the class's queen bee and being ostracized by the entire class was already hard enough. But with everyone accusing her of stealing, the thought of leaving college quickly crossed her mind.
"Hah! Are you all out of your mind?! Why would Tina steal my stuff when she's my friend?!"
Much to everyone's surprise, Rina, who wouldn't have any qualms about belittling Tina out in the open, defended her.
She snorted. "Tina has been with us since the beginning of the day. It is only now that something has gone missing at the same time another student who was in the room after we left."
With that, the class automatically shifted their eyes to Su Nian's desk.
Everyone shook their heads and sighed. Not all of them gave Su Nian the disgusted look they cast upon Tina. After all, they didn't dislike Su Nian that much. They found her a little cute or rather, Su Nian didn't look much of a threat.
Tina, who was now saved, looked at Su Nian apologetically. If their other classmates were quick to shift their blame, Tina knew exactly what was happening. Yet, for some reason, she felt relieved that Rina finally found someone to replace her. The relief made her sick to her stomach, but she couldn't help it.
"You! How could you steal my stuff just because I was kind to you?!" Rina pointed a finger at Su Nian . "Take it out right now! That necklace is a gift to me from my brother!"
Su Nian just stared at Patricia while assessing her from head to toe. Her lips briefly hooked up when she noticed a red paint on Rina's fingers.
"Why are you not doing anything!?" Rina harrumphed at the lack of reaction from Su Nian. "Just standing there like a fool won't do anything. Give me back my necklace!"
Rina stomped her feet to Su Nian impatiently and grabbed her bag. The bag was still strapped on Penny's shoulders and thus, Su Nian ended up twisting slightly when Rina grabbed the side of it. "Let me see your bag! Take it off!"
"Don't want to," was all Su Nian said with a dead expression. "Hands off."
This just fanned the flames as Patricia clung to Penny's bag tighter. "You don't want to? You stole my things and you want to keep them hidden?! Give it to me! Give me back my stuff!"
"Give it back! Give it back! You thief!" Rina continued yelling, her voice consistently rose the more she tried and failed.
At the same time, the teacher finally arrived and saw the situation.
"What's going on?"
This time, Rina let the bag go. She was panting and breaking out in sweat, pointing a finger at Su Nian. "Teacher, she stole my stuff!"
Stealing was a big word to say in this school. So when the teacher heard this, her lips quickly curved down. What more? It was too early, and the class hadn't even started, but something like this was already happening, which never happened before.
