Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - THIS CAN'T BE REAL?!?!

When he opened his eyes, he woke up half awake, looking around himself. He found himself in a messy bed, with video games scattered all over the floor, untidied.

Without much of a thought, he stood up from his bed and headed to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

As he picked up the brush, a man with dark messy hair with fish dead eyes reflected in the mirror.

His name is Seong Ji-Hyuk. Well, there was nothing else remarkable about him. Truth be told, if he's probably in the world of novels, he would be one of those what you call a mob character.

As he started brushing his teeth, Seong Ji-Hyuk's eyes travelled across the bathroom. And as usual, everything was kept tidied and clean. His fish dead eyes continued to traverse everywhere, till it stopped, right in front of his own reflection.

*DONN!!*

Seong Ji-Hyuk fiercely slapped his hand on the mirror, typical to kabedon, locking himself from the visual of his reflection, almost making a dent on it in the process.

"Why am I so god dang handsome??" With a huge smug on his face, Seong Ji-Hyuk said confidently.

"Mesmerizing eyes, and even that perfect head shape?! Huff… I guess when it rained of beauty, I took it all in their grace… I'm sorry everyone, I'm sorry for being born different…"

*THUD THUD*

Seong Ji-Hyuk continued with that weird act until— someone finally started banging the door from the other side of the bathroom, to put an end to this insanity.

"JI-HYUK?!?! Are you done yet?? You've been holed up there for the past 15 mins now…. Are you having constipation or something?? It's not that we're worried… It's just, hobbies should be done moderately, you know? We also need to use the bathroom, you see…" A mellifluous worried and annoyed voice resounded from the other side of the door.

Her voice sounds so enticing and pretty, yet there were frowns in Seong Ji-Hyuk's face.

"WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM!?!?"

In anguish, Seong Ji-Hyuk screamed on top of his lungs as he bashed open the door. From there, he found a blonde, pretty lady who looked like a model, with lips as enticing as roses. Her deep red eyes stare at him with a frown, totally dissatisfied with his action.

"What? We can't use the bathroom now, huh?"

She was none other than his younger sister, Byeol Da-Som.

"Couldn't you at least wait till I finish using the bathroom??" Seong Ji-Hyuk scratched his head in annoyance and said with a frown.

Byeol Da-Som lips soon formed into a mocking smug, and with her tiny hands, she pointed her finger to Ji-Hyuk with confidence in her eyes, as if she already had him checkmate.

"What? So we'll have to hold ourselves, and wait for hours till you come out from the bathroom? Why are you even taking so long there… Perhaps… Are you doing something disgusting, huh???"

"Talking to you is like talking to a brick," Seong Ji-Hyuk frowned for the last time, finally giving up, "anyways have it your way."

Instead of continuing their argument, Seong Ji-Hyuk chose to give up the bathroom and left. When he walked past her though, she was smiling as if she had won.

Her face looked so annoying to the point, Seong Ji-Hyuk almost couldn't hold himself to punch her straight in the face…

While Byeol Dah-Som still lives rent free in his head, Seong Ji-Hyuk suddenly recalled that he still had class today, and immediately ran back to his room to change into his uniform. Afterwards, Seong Ji-Hyuk left his home after saying farewell to his mom, rushing to his university.

***

"Huff… Huff… I hope I can still make it…"

Panting heavily under the scorching sun, Seong Ji-Hyuk struggled to catch his breath, however… Knowing he's almost late for his class, Seong Ji-Hyuk paid no further attention to how rough he's even breathing right now… All that matters is… He must get there as soon as possible… No matter what…

Seong Ji-Hyuk ran across the long hallway, with student councils running after him screaming in irritation, however, he never stopped. With firm determination, Seong Ji-Hyuk ran and ran, till he soon arrived in his class.

Seong Ji-Hyuk hid to the side to catch his breath, fortunately he already lost the student council's chasing after him earlier. Then pulled out his phone and looked at the time before sighing in relief. Fortunately, he's only 5 minutes late. Without wasting more time, Seong Ji-Hyuk sneakily went inside, and sat on his seat.

"Did y'all already start with the lesson??" Worried that the class probably already started and he might have missed something, Seong Ji-Hyuk poked his classmate sitting in front of him and asked.

"What the—? Ji-Hyuk?! I thought you ain't in class today… I guess it must be my imagination…"

"I got late… I thought it's still too early, I even had to run my way here, just to make it in time and I still got late..."

"Well, it's good that you didn't get lazy and stayed at home. You almost missed all the fun. We haven't started the class yet… Apparently we're getting a transfer student today… News is, she's the granddaughter of the principal. Yikes, I hope I don't make bad impressions of her."

"Is that so?" Seong Ji-Hyuk pulled out his textbook from his bag and started studying, totally disinterested.

"Sometimes, you scare me for having no care in the world. Are you still alright in the head or something?" Seong Ji-Hyuk's classmate stared at him with a weird look and exclaimed.

Though, Seong Ji-Hyuk just ignored what he said, and focused on studying. Why? Well, in the first place, why should he even care? It's not like he'll be acquainted with them or anything. With that in mind, Seong Ji-Hyuk regarded these pointless thoughts and kept his eyes in his textbook.

And as he continued to take notes, read parts of his textbook, the vibe around the class suddenly became cheerful, he could hear his classmates cheering, as his professor guided someone to finally come inside from the background.

Seong Ji-Hyuk didn't even bother looking as he already knew it's probably the transfer student. And from their sings of praises and cheering alone, he could already guess it's definitely a notable student.

It didn't bother him even one bit, truth be told, even if someone made a big deal about it, he would've disregarded it, like every other news. Until…

… Seong Ji-Hyuk's professor finally introduced her to the class.

"Class, let me introduce the new students that'll be joining you guys from now on," paused, he asked the transfer student beside him, "Do you want me to do you a favor and introduce you?"

In response, a voice as soothing as a lullaby that seemed to connect to their very souls, replied, "No, I think you've done more than enough for me. I'll do the introduction, thank you."

Everyone except Seong Ji-Hyuk seemed to be captivated by the beauty of her voice, as they all awaited her introduction in anticipation. With gulps and murmurs floating everywhere in the class, all their attention gathers in one place.

Even Seong Ji-Hyuk, who's supposed to not care about this event, will soon make an expression that even he would never expect. Never in a million.

And even with all the weird stares, expectations. The target of all those attentions, never faltered. Her demeanor remained the same, calm, unbothered.

"Helloo, everyone! My name is Seo-Yeon, but you can call me Yeon. As you all must've known, I'm the granddaughter of the principal. Even so, I hope I still get equal treatment as everyone else."

With Seo-Yeon's speech, everyone adored her, and they all started singing praises, welcoming her with open arms. However, there was only one bothered person— In all of this.

The dark haired man with dead fish eyes expression who's locked in studying earlier, now breaking in sweat, with his brows and eyes finally making a unique expression, unbeknownst to him.

Seong Ji-Hyuk accidentally dropped his pen in the ground in shock, while his eyes stared deeply into the person who's the center of all this attention, with shaking brows.

Smooth and silky dark hair, red deep crimson eyes that look so down to earth, her face looks like a doll, that if ever compared to a model, they'll pale in comparison.

Seong Ji-Hyuk tried to calm himself down, but couldn't do so… He had lots of test runs in his head, regarding whether it's probably just a coincidence and all but. For now, at least, he knows, he wouldn't be able to keep his composure the same as usual.

And to end her speech, Seo-Yeon opened her lips for the last time with a smile;

"I will be in your care from now on, I hope we'll all get along."
