Theo blinked. His lips parted soundlessly, like he was trying to form words but forgot how to speak.
Damon stood stiff beside me, trying and failing to hide the smug smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
I crossed my arms over my chest, tilting my head slightly, waiting. "Well?" I asked, my voice sweet but carrying an unmistakable edge.
Theo swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing visibly. His eyes darted between me and Damon, as though hoping this wasn't real. "You… you're… you're here?" he finally stammered.
Damon sighed quietly, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Theo, I was trying to tell you that before you decided to shout accusations at me."
Theo blinked again, his expression blank. "Oh."
"Oh," I repeated mockingly, raising a brow. "That's all you've got to say after calling me a skeleton and a panda?"
Theo scratched the back of his head awkwardly, his face red as a tomato. "You… you've gained a little weight. I meant that as a compliment," he said quickly.
