I dragged my feet down the hallway, the wooden floorboards creaking under each step I took. My head throbbed, and the dull ache behind my eyes felt like a punishment from the moon goddess herself.
I needed to know if everything was going according to plan.
The smell of something burning hit my nostrils making my steps falter and my brows knit together, when I got to the kitchen… It was cloudy with smoke, the oil was spilled everywhere and the table was a complete mess.
Alaric stood closer to the stove coughing with an apron tied around his waist, a deep frown on his face, like he couldn't solve what had gone wrong.
Theo stood beside him, he was also coughing and had a bowl of water in his hand. I wondered what it was for… until the pan went ablaze, burning with fire, Theo quickly splashed the water into the pan to put out the fire.
