Chapter 2 - chapter 2

Omega POV (Ayan)

The morning started quiet.

I wore extra layers. Stronger suppressants. Two scent blockers instead of one. My head felt light from it, but I couldn't take chances

I kept my eyes down as I entered the boardroom. The project meeting was big. Investors were flying in. Alphas, mostly. I could already smell it—faint spice, thick in the air, like danger in every breath.

They were early. That made my stomach twist. I hated being in the room with too many alphas.

But my job was simple today, Presentation, Stats,Calm voice.

I set up my laptop, slides ready. Everyone kept talking, posturing. Laughs too loud. Voices too deep. Their scents grew heavier with each sentence, subtle but sharp.

And then he walked in.

Kieran Vale.

7.4 feet of cold danger. Long coat, dark suit. His eyes passed over the room .

The others—those regular alphas—they saw him. Stiffened.

I saw it happen: one tried to scent the space, just a little puff of pheromones. Trying to mark the air. Like a dog at the edge of another's territory.

Kieran turned his head.

No words.

But then came his scent.

Thick. Dark. Heavy with dominance. It crashed into the room like a tidal wave. The investors froze. Their scents shriveled under his like candles in the wind.

Even with suppressants, I felt it.

My body went cold. Then hot.

I stood at the front, trying to focus on the slide. "This quarter's revenue projection shows—" I stopped.

The air was too heavy.

My knees weakened. The scent was in my nose, on my skin, deep in my bones. It wasn't just any alpha scent. It was pure dominance, sharp and raw, crawling into places I didn't want it to reach.

My voice trembled. "As you can see, the—"

Another wave of his pheromones rolled over the room. This time I felt it. In my core. My lower stomach twisted. My thighs pressed together without thinking.

No. No no no.

This wasn't happening. Not here.

I took a step back. My vision blurred.

I couldn't breathe.

My scent blocker had melted away.

My body burned. My breath quickened. My skin broke out in sweat.

"Ayan?" someone asked.

But I couldn't answer.

Everything went black.

I collapsed.

When I woke up, the air was warm. Dim. Quiet.

I was on a leather couch. My head rested on something soft. his coat. It smelled like him. Strong and thick and-@

I sat up too fast. My body ached. My clothes were damp with sweat. I felt flushed. Wrong.

"I wouldn't move too fast."

That voice.

Kieran.

He sat in a chair beside me. Legs crossed. Watching. Always watching.

"You fainted," he said simply.

"I—I'm sorry, sir." I tried to sit straighter. My body trembled. My throat burned.

"You went into early heat," he added.

My heart stopped.

My hands clenched the coat. "I—I don't—"

"Don't lie."

I looked away, shame crawling up my neck. So it was over. My secret—gone.

"I had a medic confirm. You're a recessive omega," he said.

I didn't speak.

What was there to say?

"I knew."

That made me snap my head toward him. "What?"

"I've known for a while," he said, standing slowly. "But today confirmed it."

I felt cold. Small. Powerless.

He walked toward me, slow and quiet. He didn't touch me

"You didn't report it. You broke company policy." His voice was calm.

"I had to work," I said. My voice cracked.

He didn't answer for a long time. Just stared.

Then, finally—"You'll stay here tonight. Until your heat stabilizes. No one else can scent you. Not like this."

"I can manage—"

"You can't. You already collapsed once. If it happens outside this office, you won't be safe."

I wanted to fight. I wanted to run. But he was right.

And worse... some part of me felt safer near him than outside.

So I nodded.

"Fine."

He turned to leave. But just before he stepped out, he paused.

"You smell better when you're not hiding."

Then the door shut behind him.

And I sat there, breathless, heart pounding, knowing nothing would ever be the same again.
