Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Warning in the Dark

As I stumbled through the dark and twisting corridors of the ancient structure, I could feel a growing sense of unease and apprehension. I had been wandering for what felt like hours, searching for some sign of a way out or a clue as to what had brought me to this strange and foreboding place.

But all I found was darkness and silence, broken only by the faint sound of my own footsteps echoing off the stone walls. I could not shake the feeling that I was being watched, that something lurked just beyond the edge of my vision, waiting to pounce.

I pressed on, determined to find some way out of this maze of tunnels and chambers. But as I turned a corner, I saw something that made me stop dead in my tracks.

There, at the end of the corridor, was a figure. It was tall and slender, with skin as pale as snow and eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness. Its long fingers twitched nervously as it watched me, as if unsure of what to do.

For a moment, we simply stood there, staring at each other in silence. Then the figure spoke, its voice low and musical, but also tinged with a hint of menace.

"You do not belong here," it said. "This place is not for mortal beings."

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized the truth of the creature's words. I was not meant to be here—this was a place of power and mystery, a realm of beings far beyond my understanding.

But I was also determined to survive, to find my way back to the world I knew. And so I took a step forward, steeling myself for whatever lay ahead.

That figure's words woke me to a truth: I was running from the now, but the now was where I belonged, alive with wonder.
