"Yatta! With a hundred days, I can definitely push my Falna to Level 3, and my Magic should see huge gains too!" Maki Zen'in exclaimed excitedly, wrapping her arms around Akiyama Ren.
In Orario, as an adventurer's ability values increase with their Falna, their capacity for magic grows as well. Coupled with the God-Slayer World's magic system—capable of directly absorbing external mana—Maki could refine her power using the magic stones harvested from monsters.
With both her status boost from Falna and from the God-Slayer system, she'd soon reach the tier equivalent to a High Mage or Great Knight. Combining Level 3 in Orario's system, advanced magic casting, and the Heavenly Restriction from the Jujutsu Kaisen world, Maki's future battle strength could rival a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer.
"If you say it, you better do it, baka. I'll be watching you every step of the way," Akiyama Ren said with a smirk.
"Hmph, don't underestimate me, Ren-kun! I swear, I'll exceed your expectations!" Maki replied with fierce confidence.
They exchanged warm smiles, washed up, and eventually drifted off to sleep together.
The next morning, Maki Zen'in stirred before dawn. She quietly slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake Ren.
Normally, with Akiyama-kun beside her, she felt invincible. But that was exactly the problem.
She'd come to rely on that sense of security too much.
And if she wanted to grow stronger—not just lean on him—she had to challenge the Dungeon alone. To face the unknown, like a true adventurer.
So, after much internal debate, she set off for Babel Tower and entered the Dungeon by herself.
Back in bed, Akiyama Ren slowly opened his eyes the moment she left.
"Man, she's got guts…" he muttered with a smile. "But I kinda figured she'd try something like this."
He wasn't worried. He'd already left a wisp of divine power linked to her aura. If she faced a life-threatening crisis, the divine power would activate to shield her, and he'd sense it immediately—enabling him to teleport to her side in an instant.
Confident that she was safe for now, Ren pulled the blanket over his head and dozed off for another hour or two.
He finally got out of bed around 9:30 AM, went through his usual morning routine, and then headed out with a new goal in mind:
To buy a bigger, better place.
The little wooden house they'd been staying in was cozy, but it was more like a temporary base than a home. They'd only gotten it as a foothold, a discrete location to teleport into this world without attracting attention.
But with them planning to spend the next 100 days—or rather, a hundredfold of time compared to their original world—he needed to upgrade.
Akiyama made his way to the Guild's headquarters in Orario. As the organization overseeing all adventurer activity, property, and Dungeon-related operations, the Guild also handled land transactions and house ownership.
He walked up to the front desk and inquired about the real estate division. After being pointed to the appropriate counter, Ren met with a female staffer who quickly laid out a thick stack of documents.
Each one contained listings for vacant lots and available buildings across Orario.
As expected, the Daedalus Street area had the most vacancies. No one wanted to live in a place plagued by dangerous layouts and chaotic infrastructure.
But as Ren browsed the documents, his eyes locked onto one specific property.
It was a plot of land near the ruined church that Hestia had used in the original DanMachi timeline. A place he remembered clearly.
"This one. I'll take it," Ren said casually.
The counter lady blinked. "Sir, are you sure? That lot's been empty for years. It's in terrible shape, and people avoid it."
"I'm sure," Ren replied firmly.
Seeing that he wasn't joking, she checked her ledger. "Very well. That plot is available—but I must inform you, it isn't for sale outright. You're purchasing a 10-year lease only. The fee is 1 billion valis."
"One hundred million per year just for usage rights? That's daylight robbery," Ren muttered under his breath. But he didn't hesitate.
He reached into his spatial inventory and pulled out ten large crates of gold valis—each glinting brilliantly under the Guild's magical light.
Of course, to everyone else, it looked like wealth gathered from years of adventuring.
Only Ren knew they were conjured using divine authority. The result of being a God-like existence outside the rules of this world.
The staff member's jaw dropped slightly at the sight, but she composed herself and quickly began filing the necessary paperwork.
After the transaction was completed, Ren stretched and yawned.
"Now then... I guess breakfast at The Hostess of Fertility sounds good. I'm too lazy to cook today."
After a filling meal of stew and fresh bread, he returned to the house and slumped onto the sofa. He grabbed a pile of ancient-looking scrolls and modern grimoires and began studying.
"Alright, let's get down to business. God-Slayer magic, modern-style Onmyōdō from Kurahashi Kyōko... might as well learn everything I can."
His idea was simple: gather techniques and merge them, much like Rimuru Tempest's method of creating powerful composite skills. Though Authorities were powerful, their usage often had rigid conditions.
Kusanagi Godou, the original God-Slayer protagonist, was infamous for this. He had divine-level power but was always just barely scraping through fights because he only had a handful of tricks up his sleeve.
Ren wasn't going to follow that path.
He already had access to Divine Authorities, but adding in flexible magic systems like Onmyōdō, modern jujutsu sorcery, and traditional spells from the God-Slayer World gave him variety and adaptability.
Even for someone with divine learning capabilities, the sheer number of techniques was daunting.
But hey, what else was he going to do with his time?
While Ren studied, Maki Zen'in was grinding her way through the Dungeon—fighting monster after monster, her skills growing sharper with each encounter.
Their daily rhythm quickly settled into a pattern: Ren spent his days studying and refining techniques while Maki explored the Dungeon solo, slaying monsters and collecting magic stones. At night, they would reunite, dine, and share moments of intimacy that deepened their bond.
Their relationship blossomed with each passing day.
Then, exactly one month later, Maki returned from the Dungeon glowing with excitement. That evening, Ren updated her Falna.
[Name]: Maki Zen'in
[Level]: Lv2
[Ability Values]: Strength: S999 | Endurance: S999 | Dexterity: S999 | Agility: S999 | Magic: S999
[Development Abilities]: —
[Magic]: —
[Skills]: Heavenly Restriction (Incomplete)
Every single stat had reached the S-rank cap!
Ren looked at the status sheet and smirked. "Oi oi, you're making the rest of the adventurers look like side characters."
Maki grinned proudly, holding the status paper to her chest. "Heh, serves them right! I've got the best senpai and lover in the whole world."
"Well, when you put it that way... I guess I'll have to raise the bar too."
Their smiles matched as the sun dipped over Orario.
Her progress was rapid, but understandable. With strength already equivalent to a Level 3 adventurer, and slaying monsters above her current rank, her achievements stacked up quickly.
At this rate, the title of "Special Grade" didn't seem so far-fetched after all.
