Chapter 269 - Chapter 270: Thanos: Alex, You Cheater!

BRRRRT! BRRRRT!

War Machine's shoulder-mounted miniguns unleashed hell on Thanos, spitting a storm of tungsten rounds faster than the eye could track. The barrage clanged off the Titan's armor, sparks scattering in every direction like fireworks on a battlefield.

But against the Mad Titan?

It was nothing.

No real damage—just annoyance.

Thanos' grimace deepened. He reached down, pried up a slab of broken earth the size of a car, and hurled it with casual brutality.

Rhodey swerved hard, thrusters screaming, dodging by mere inches. The boulder smashed into a half-collapsed building behind him, reducing it to rubble.

But the distraction gave Bruce and Steve their opening.

HULK SMASH!

With a guttural roar, Bruce—half-transformed, veins bulging green—lunged forward. His one good arm swung in a savage arc, and his knuckles hammered into Thanos' jaw with the force of a meteor strike.

The Titan actually staggered.

Then came the metallic clang—Steve Rogers, shield-first, slamming into Thanos' ribs. The vibranium rang like a church bell across the battlefield.

For a fleeting moment, the unthinkable happened—

The Mad Titan was pinned down.

Above, Alex rained down suppressive bursts of heat vision and telekinetic pressure, keeping Thanos boxed in. For once, the Avengers weren't just holding their ground.

They were winning.

"Bleed for me, Thanos!" Tony's voice crackled through comms, filled with determination—and just a hint of smugness.

His giant repulsor fist glowed white-hot, charging up for a strike aimed straight at the Titan's face. The energy buildup hummed like a thunderstorm about to break.

WHOOSH!

The attack froze mid-air.

Not because Tony hesitated.

Because it was being held in place.

"Ah," Tony muttered, eyes narrowing. "The Squidward lookalike is back."

Ebony Maw hovered into view, arms spread with eerie calm, his telekinesis locking down Tony's repulsor cannon as though it were a child's toy.

Tony smirked despite the danger. "Still ugly as ever—"

SLAM!

With a flick of his fingers, Maw ripped Tony from the sky and slammed him into the ground so hard the concrete cratered. Dust plumed upward, swallowing him whole.

And then the battlefield shook again.

THOOM! THOOM! THOOM!

The earth trembled under the thunderous charge of Cull Obsidian, the hulking brute of the Black Order. His spiked hammer swung with earth-shattering force, colliding with Steve's shield.

The shield didn't just dent—it exploded into shards of vibranium.

Steve was flung across the battlefield, skidding through stone and steel, coughing blood. Even the "plot armor" of Captain America had its limits. Against a cosmic warlord's champion?

He was outmatched.

ZAP!

A searing bolt of blue light cut through the air—Proxima Midnight's energy spear, hissing as it targeted War Machine.

Rhodey juked desperately, flares popping from his suit, but the spear still sliced a burning trail across his shoulder plating. Warning alarms screamed in his HUD.

CLANG!

Meanwhile, Bruce's knuckles sparked against the curved blade of Corvus Glaive, each strike blocked and countered with deadly precision. The Glaive's weapon sang with malicious energy, every clash threatening to pierce even Hulk's flesh.

With the Black Order now fully deployed, the balance of power flipped in an instant.

The Avengers, moments ago pushing forward, were now being crushed.

Only Alex remained untouched.

But Alex wasn't one to play by the rules.

Hell no.

WHOOSH!

A sonic boom ripped the air as Alex blitzed toward Ebony Maw.

The telekinetic's eyes widened. He conjured a shimmering shield, layers of psychic force stacking one over the other—

CRACK!

Alex's fist tore through it like glass.

SNAP!

His hand closed around Maw's neck. One squeeze—bones shattered.

The lifeless body fell limp.

Dead.

"ALEX!" Thanos' roar shook the battlefield. His generals were not pawns to be discarded so easily—yet Alex had ended one in less than five seconds.

This wasn't a fair fight.

It was execution.

Alex moved again, his afterimage blurring like lightning across the field.

BOOM!

Cull Obsidian barely turned before Alex's telekinetic grip wrapped around him, lifting the brute off his feet. The warhammer fell uselessly from his hands.

TK-SLAM!

Cull slammed against the ground, pinned like an insect.

ZZZT!

A single sweep of Alex's heat vision carved a glowing line through the brute's neck.

The body fell still.

Two down.

Proxima lunged. Corvus followed.

They didn't last ten seconds.

Alex broke Proxima's spear with a twist of his will, then crushed her ribcage with a telekinetic burst. Corvus tried to counter, blade gleaming—but Alex sidestepped, ripped the weapon from his grasp, and drove it straight through his chest.

The battlefield fell silent except for the ringing of dying steel.

Thanos' face turned a deeper shade of purple, veins bulging. His fury boiled over, but before he could act—

BIFROST!

A rainbow torrent split the sky, crashing down in a storm of cosmic light. The battlefield quaked beneath its arrival.

Out stepped Thor, lightning crackling across his armor, both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir spinning in his hands. His eyes burned with raw, divine fury.

"You're all gonna die today!" the thunder god roared, and the storm answered in kind.
