Jack and Madison followed the spa attendant out of the lounge, then down the hall and through several turns before entering a small room with two tables in the center.
Each table had two chairs, one each on opposite sides, and a middle-aged woman standing next to it.
"These ladies will be taking care of your manicures today," said the spa attendant before leaving the room and closing the door behind her.
The next thirty minutes were not as boring as Jack had thought they would be.
It turned out you could polish a nail the old-fashioned way, with oil and a fine-grit abrasive sponge.
The lady hadn't even bothered to ask him if he wanted nail polish and instead offered him the alternative, claiming that it rendered the nail smooth, but not shiny.
Madison opted for this option as well, claiming she hated maintaining nail polish.
Most of the time, the two ladies gossiped with himself, Madison, and each other, sharing titbits they had heard about various celebrities.
