They stood like that for a few minutes before she stood on her toes and kissed his cheek.
Then she moved her head and kissed the corner of his mouth.
Something told him that, unlike Samantha, she needed a more delicate, restrained approach. So he let her take the initiative, at least for the moment.
She kissed him again, this time on the lips, but softly, almost hesitantly. Unlike her earlier kiss in the car.
He leaned down, so she didn't need to stand on her toes, and returned her kiss, gently nibbling her lower lip with his lips.
