"Jack!" said Samantha enthusiastically, but stopped arm's length in front of him.
"Samantha. You look lovely!" But before he could open his arms to silently invite her into a hug, she lunged forward and wrapped her arms around him.

She pulled back and looked at him like she wasn't sure if she should laugh or be insulted.
