Chapter 26: Whispers in Prague
The cold air of Prague was sharper than Elara remembered.
Hidden beneath layers of coats and a forged identity, she moved through the city's underground with Killian and Declan at her side. The folder they'd received had led them here—to a biotech subsidiary too clean, too quiet, and far too well-funded.
At first glance, the facility looked like a wellness research center. But inside, they uncovered floor plans and data trails that echoed Damon's methods—only more refined.
"Same structure. Same tech upgrades. They've evolved the experiments," Declan whispered, scanning the files.
Elara's fist clenched. "We should've known it wouldn't end with Damon."
They observed for days, collecting evidence without alerting security. But things took a turn the night Elara spotted someone on the monitors—someone she hadn't seen in years.
Livia Torres. A former assistant to Damon. Believed to be dead in the fire.
"She's alive," Elara whispered, staring at the screen. "And running this operation."
Killian's jaw tightened. "Then she's our next target."
But this time, Livia wasn't hiding in shadows. She stepped in front of the camera and looked directly into it.
"She knows we're here," Elara said, heart pounding.
And just like that, the hunter had become the hunted again.
