Fury roared over Ferry's limp from before, turning away and roaring at the sky. It wasn't enough, a bubbling cauldron of energy was rising constantly, and she couldn't control it. It forced her to move, to jump, to beat the ground. She pulled what was left of her clothes off, exposing where fur refused to grow.
She looked up and noticed the others, compelled to roar at them she charged, beating the earth the whole way. It was enough to make them huddle and retreat.
She stopped just short, standing on her toes and fingertips glaring. At first words wouldn't come but after a longer, guttural roar she found them.
"Protecting each other!" she yelled. "That was what we were supposed to do!"
She jumped up and hit both Brook and Hydra on the chest, sending them back. Brook tripped on her heels. Before she could get up Fury's stomp dropped her back down.
"You all let me be attacked and pulled away. My life nearly ended, and you all sat and watched!" she knocked Hydra off her feet. "When I found you, you were alone! I brought you together! I loved every one of you! Now I see that it was that love that spoilt you. My need to keep you as you were only changed you for the worst."
She gripped Sabre's shoulders and flung her to the ground.
No one fought, simply staring at the ground, an act which served to infuriate her. She jumped and kicked Hawk to the floor, perhaps the hardest.
"Groups are teams of individuals who work together as equals to grow the group. So why am I alone?"
She gripped Sheila by the collar and threw her to the floor before dropping her knee over her temple, pressing down mercilessly before pinning her flailing arms.
"You'd be dead without me, but now you're useless with me. But that's only with me as a friend. We'll see how pathetic you are when I'm your better."
Only Winter was left standing. Furry grabbed and lifted her by the collar, bringing her to her face. The girl's toes dangled.
"Tell me Winter, do you want that?" she asked.
She didn't say a word. Fury held her closer, drilling into Winter's eyes with her own.
"What tribe were you a part of?" Winter stared at the ground. Fury shook her flaunting her strength. "What tribe!"
Slowly, finally, Winter looked up.
"None," she whispered.
"What?"
The shaking stopped, but still the girl hung.
"None!"
It was an energy Fury had never seen.
"What are you talking about? You're a part of the Haven tribe and-"
"No, Fury, we aren't! We lost our tribes when we rebelled, and we rejected them when we joined you. We have nothing without you, nothing! We're all born from different tribes, but not of them. Instead, we are of different traumas, we have nothing to connect us outside of you. You described how different from the others we are over and over again! What makes you think we're the same with each other? What? Did you really think would happen if you'd never come back? Do you really think Ferry could have taken charge? We'd all have fallen into place? Followed him, when he was turning into a monster? All this when we left bigger and stronger tribes for less?"
Fury let go, the energy had changed forming a ball which swirled around her diaphragm, tickling her heart. Thoughts came fast, bursting from her lips almost simultaneously. Her anger had no restraint, she wanted to hurt them, so she did. She wanted to make them listen. But after Winter's words…
She wanted to scream, give her own submission cry but was numb.
