Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Baratie - Who is Krieg?

The reward for completing the progress task is related to the character triggering the task.

The reward Lin Mo received from Garp, the improvement in Armament Haki, was entirely within his expectations.

The improvement of both Armament and Observation Haki doesn't emanate a visible aura.

So, only Lin Mo could feel his increased strength.

Garp, on the other hand, had no idea that Lin Mo had suddenly become stronger.

Afterward, Lin Mo kicked Garp off his ship.

Garp, unwillingly, returned to his own small boat and watched Lin Mo continue sailing forward.

After a while, still uneasy, Garp decided to follow him.

It wasn't until evening that they both returned to Baratie.

Lin Mo brought back a three-meter-long big fish.

He had intended to bring a Sea King.

Unfortunately, even the smallest one could have capsized his boat.

He had to give up on that.

Baratie had limited rooms for employees.

Most rooms housed three or four people.

Zeff arranged for Lin Mo to stay in the same room as Sanji.

That night, as agreed, Sanji and Lin Mo met on the back deck of the second floor.

The faint moonlight shone on both of them.

Sanji, unable to contain his excitement, hurriedly said, "Lin Mo, I'm ready. Let's begin!"

Lin Mo glanced at him.

Sanji was still too thin.

Compared to the muscular Zoro, he was nowhere near that level.

If they started strength training directly, Sanji's weak body might not handle it.

Lin Mo directly said, "From now on, tie two kilograms of weight around your ankles. You're not allowed to take it off, whether you're eating, working, or sleeping. Once you get used to it, we'll add more weight."

"Eh?" Sanji was surprised, "Is this to train my legs?"

Lin Mo nodded slightly.

"Then what?" Sanji eagerly asked. "What should I do next? Maybe train for precision kicks?"

"Don't rush," Lin Mo continued. "For now, focus on strengthening your ankle power before training anything else. If you feel like there's nothing to do, study biological structures."

Sanji froze for a moment, then mumbled, "What's there to study about that..."

Lin Mo said coldly, "Power without technique is like scattered sand."

After that, Lin Mo didn't say anything more. He bypassed Sanji and went back to his room to rest.

Sanji stood there, pondering Lin Mo's words, increasingly confused.

It seemed like Lin Mo wanted him to master powerful techniques, but what exactly were they? Did it have something to do with the biological structure Lin Mo mentioned?

Sanji scratched his head and thought for the rest of the night but couldn't figure it out.

The next day.

Lin Mo ordered breakfast in the restaurant.

Wearing his usual clothes, Garp sat at the table next to Lin Mo, ordering the same breakfast.

"You're drinking alcohol so early in the morning?" Garp said with a smile. "Not even that old, but you're already a heavy drinker."

Lin Mo ignored him and continued eating.

He was puzzled.

Garp had already accepted his refusal to join the Navy yesterday, so why hadn't he left?

Garp grinned and asked, "When you were in Windmill Village, did you know a kid named Luffy? He's my grandson."

Lin Mo replied indifferently, "I don't know him."

Lin Mo had only stayed in Windmill Village for about ten days. During that time, Luffy hadn't come to the tavern, so they never met.

"Ah, what a shame," Garp said with a mock disappointed expression. "I thought you and Luffy were friends. How about Ace? Do you know Ace?"

Lin Mo gave him a speechless look.

What was this old fox trying to do by saying such random things?

"I don't know him," Lin Mo replied, frustrated.

Garp burst out laughing, "Hahaha, no worries. You'll meet them eventually. It won't be too late to be friends then, hahaha."

At that moment, the door to the restaurant was suddenly kicked open.

A large man with a face full of scars and a fierce expression, leading a group of lackeys, stormed into the restaurant.

"Hand over the blond brat!" the man shouted.

"Eh, isn't that one of Krieg's subordinates?"

"Krieg? The pirate causing trouble in the East Blue recently? How come his subordinates are here at Baratie?"

"I don't know. Is the blond brat he's talking about the one who just served us?"

"Looks like that kid's in trouble now…"

The customers in the restaurant began to whisper among themselves.

Some were too scared to speak.

Lin Mo continued to eat breakfast, unfazed.

Garp, however, glanced at Krieg's subordinates, trying to remember who Krieg was but failing. "Krieg? A pirate? I don't remember him."

One of the customers at a nearby table quietly whispered to him, "Krieg, the pirate who's been making waves in the East Blue recently. He's done all sorts of bad things and has fifteen pirate ships under his command."

"Fifteen pirate ships, huh?" Garp stroked his chin, thought for a moment, and then glanced at Lin Mo. Suddenly, he chuckled. "What a coincidence. I just had my subordinates move the warship this morning. Lin Mo, what do you think I should do next?"

Lin Mo gave him an indifferent glance. "Do whatever you want."

Patty brought dishes downstairs.

When he saw the group at the door, he quickly delivered the food to the right tables and greeted them with a smile, "Welcome, gentlemen, are you here to dine?"

The man at the front glared at Patty, grabbed him by the collar, and shouted, "Hand over that blond brat!"

"The blond brat?" Patty smiled, asking, "So, are you gentlemen here to find someone, not to eat?"

"Hm? Don't you understand what I'm saying?" The man widened his eyes and swung his fist toward Paddy's face.

Patty's expression changed, and he grabbed the man's fist, immediately exuding a powerful aura. "Anyone who's not here to eat should get out!"

As he said that, Patty kicked the man.

The man quickly drew a gun and pointed it at Patty's head.

Patty immediately stopped his movement and began to sweat.

At this moment.

Sanji, who was coming downstairs slowly with food, stopped when he saw the gun pointed at Patty's head.

"Brother Strong, I see the blond brat!" One of the lackeys shouted, pointing at Sanji on the staircase.

"Hmph!" The leader coldly snorted and aimed the gun at Sanji, "Kid, you shouldn't have messed with our boss's woman. You'll die for this!"

With that, the man pulled the trigger.

A bullet quickly shot through the restaurant's hall, heading straight for Sanji, who was frozen in fear.

In Sanji's mind, only four words were running through his head: "Ah, I'm finished!"
