-Yorome Port, Yorome City-
Sounds of chatter and metallic clanking can be heard from kilometers away. The bustling port was filled with people moving about. It was a huge area that sits near Yorome's City's edges, beyond which lies Aspheria's open seas. Tons of cargo were scattered throughout the port, each coming from or going to the designated ship docks. Each dock had a number labelled largely on the ground, 2 of which were occupied by Hakumai at the moment. Due to recent magic technology, docks were raised above sea level as ships have hover technology. There on dock 7 & 8, lies 2 large assault cruisers. Both were very dark grey in colour and each bearing a number on the side, presumably the Hakumai Division it belongs to.
Sylvana: Woahhhh, this place is huge!! Look at those ships, I knew tech was advanced but I've never seen a ship that large before. Compared to this, regular transport cruisers are like ants.
Argo: This is truly a sight to see, and here I thought the day couldn't surprise me any more than it already has-
Both of them smiled excitedly seeing the assault cruisers towering over the port itself. As they made their way into port 7 & 8, they saw multiple Hakumai members in black uniform. A few of them were loading cargo onto the ships while others were gathered in the centre of the dock facing a brown haired woman who was wearing a long black coat over her shoulders. One of them was reading from a hologram that showed a list in her hands.
Majiki: And that should be all for the supplies commander.
Ren: Good work Majiki, you can head on aboard with the rest, I'll handle the rest over here. By the way, have any of you seen Kenji? I swear, that guy always disappears at the worst timings-
The members looked at each other and shook their heads.
Koto: No idea, I thought it was odd that he wasn't there when we chased after Bhima.
Yudai: *sigh* How could he leave you like that commander..
Majiki: I'll give him a stern talking to when he gets back, that carefree rascal..
Majiki adjusts her glasses and turns off the hologram list. She pushes her ginger-red hair back behind her ears, her eyebrows lowered above her yellowish-green eyes.
Ren: I did send him to recruit that girl who made a scene in the Arena earlier today, not sure why it'll take him so long considering Filio is with him. Speak of the devil.
A light brown haired man with the same long black coat as Ren appeared before them. His light green eyes met with Ren's purple eyes.
Filio: I'm done with the recruitment, although I don't see Kenji with you guys. Did he have something else to do?
Majiki facepalmed herself while the others sighed.
Ren: That's what we've been trying to find out, wasn't he supposed to be with you?
Filio: So that's how it is.. I figured he left the recruitment to me since he had orders from you or something else came up.
Ren: Well no matter, we can worry about him later. We're all ready to depart once both him & the new member arrives.
Majiki: I say we leave him here.
Yudai: I second that.
Filio: Hahah, as a fellow vice-commander I feel sorry for him.
Ren: Looks like our new member is here, the rest of you wait onboard the ship. Majiki, tell the command room to start up the engines & prepare for departure.
Majiki & the other members salute Ren.
Majiki: At once commander.
Ren turns her gaze to her right, facing the 2 who were approaching them.
Ren: You must be the new member, Sylvana yes?
Ren steps slowly towards them, giving a serious yet welcoming smile.
Sylvana: Sure am! Sylvana Skoll, Warrior Class at your service.
She extends her hand out into a peace sign while giving Ren her signature smug look.
Argo: (A long black coat & a seasoned fighter vibe surrounding her, there's no doubt about it. She's a commander.)
Ren: Hehe, I like your energy. I'm Raiden Ren, World Class. I'm also the 3rd division's commander. And who might you be?
She turns to look at the guy standing next to Sylvana.
Argo: I'm Argo, Warrior Class as well & a friend of Sylvana.
Ren: I don't remember asking Kenji to recruit you. Did you come along with her in hopes of joining us?
Filio: Actually, I was the one who recruited him. He seems promising so I thought I'd take him under my wing.
Ren: Is that so? Hmm
She took a good look at Argo from head to toe before answering.
Ren: Well if that's what you wish, I have no reason to disagree. You see Filio here has a unique trait. It's not magic per se but he has this innate ability to sense things. A gut feeling if you will, only that it's almost always accurate. It's the reason why I personally came down to Yorome City.
Filio: You're giving me too much praise, you can keep it coming by the way.
Ren: Argo, was it? If you're fine with following him, then go ahead. Filio has a good feeling about you, so I shall look forward to seeing your progress in Hakumai. Come now Sylvana, we're getting ready to leave. We shall continue our talk back at Hakumai HQ.
Ren turns around and heads for the bridge leading to the ship's main door. Sylvana excitedly follows behind her.
Filio: Well you heard her, let's go Argo. Our ship's the one on the left.
Filio points at the ship next to Ren's which showed division 4's number on it.
Argo: Right away uhh sir-?
Filio: Haha just call me Filio, I'm not too fond of formalities.
Argo: Will do si- Filio..
Filio smiles while patting Argo's back while they board their ship.
Rosary: Filio is back! Well how did it go? Was your gut feeling right on the mark again? Was it? Was it? Hmm? Who's this? Never seen you around before. Hey hey who are you? Are you here to have a look at our ship? Wait no that can't be. Ohh I know you must be-
Before she could finish, someone smacked her head from behind.
Volt: You idiot, one question at a time. He just got back, give him a break. But yeah, what she said. How did it go & who's this guy?
Both of them stared at Argo & Filio who just entered the ship's command room.
Filio: It was right on the mark as usual, my gut feeling that is. Amazing aren't I? Go on, say I'm amazing.
Filio stood there proudly, waiting for the praises to come.
Rosary: Wowww just as expected of you Filio.
The girl with bright pink hair and blue eyes applauded him. The guy to her right, who had yellow hair and eyes smiled.
Volt: As expected of you Filio big bro.
Argo: Bro-?
Filio: Ohh we're not actually brothers, Volt here just calls everyone bro or sis. You guys, meet our new member.
Argo: Hey there. I'm Argo, Warrior Class. I use Water Magic along with a sword.
Volt: Warrior Class? Well I guess that makes you my lil bro now. Nice to meetcha, Volt Howzer, Guardian Class.
The girl next to him raises her hand and jumps up & down.
Rosary: Me next! Me next! I'm Rosary Flore! I'm also a Guardian Class! I specialize in Plant Magic which is usually a supporting role so i'm mostly never up front, that's what this lightning meathead is for.
Volt: She's right, I use Lightning Magic & specialise in close combat. Hey who're you calling a meathead!
Argo: Hold on- Howzer? As in the same as Brook Howzer?
Volt: Hmm? You've met my lil bro?
Filio: Did you guys not watch the arena match earlier?
Rosary: Nope! I was busy mastering a new spell that allows me to use more than just-
Volt cuts her off midway.
Volt: I was training in the ship's training room, did my lil bro got into a fight or something?
Argo: Well he sort of got beaten by a friend of mine who just joined the 3rd division..
Volt: Ohh that so?
Argo: You're not upset or anything?
Volt: Why would I be? My lil bro has his own life. If anything, I hope he didn't cause your friend any trouble.
Argo: Well-
Jade: Attention everyone, we're about to depart from Yorome City, please stand by for lift off.
A girl with green hair & green eyes stood in front of them, making the announcement through the command room's terminal. She turned around and gave a nod.
Filio: Alright you guys, you heard her. Take your seats. This is your first time isn't it Argo? Just have a seat in one of the seats and hold on tight.
Filio pointed to several mounted seats to the left & right of the command room.
Filio: Once the ship has stabilized mid-air, we can resume movement.
Argo: Got it
Division 3 were also prepared to lift off.
Majiki: Ready to lift off at any moment. Awaiting your orders, commander Ren.
Kouji: Where's Kenji?
Majiki: Who knows?
Kouji: Are we leaving without him?
Ren: He's already here, I can feel his presence. Commence lift off.
Majiki: Affirmative, lifting off in 3, 2, 1.
Both ships detach from the docks, the anti-gravitational propulsion system keeping them afloat. The engines roared loudly, the wind around the ship became stronger as the ships turned clockwise and flew off ahead. Both ships gradually increased in altitude before coming to a stable position.
Jade: The ship is now stable, all systems are green. Hakumai's ETA is about 30 mins.
Filio: Thanks Jade, great job as always.
Filio walks up to Jade and gives her a pat on the head.
Filio: Argo, meet our ship's technical advisor, Jade.
Jade gives him a gentle nod to which he kindly returns a nod as well.
Filio: Any of you wanna give Argo here a tour of the ship? There's still time before we reach HQ.
Volt: I'd like to but I wanna get back to training. Sorry lil bro Argo, I'll make it up to you some other time. Come see me in the training room if you wanna join me.
Volt gives a thumbs up and proceeds to leave the command room. A hand was raised yet again in front of Argo. Rosary jumped in front of him with a lot of enthusiasm.
Rosary: Me! Me! I'll give him the tour! Come on Argo!
Argo: Sure thin-
She pulled his hand without any hesitation before he could even say yes and they left the command room.
Majiki: All signs green.
Majiki checks the terminal and proceeds to take a sip from a cup of coffee she was holding.
Ren: Good, let's get there on time so that we can properly welcome Sylvana & introduce her to all our division members. In the meantime Sylvana, these are my most trusted among all the members.
Ren points to Majiki, Kouji, Koto & Yudai.
Ren: That's Majiki, our overall advisor for the 3rd division. Kouji here is a senior member who has been in the 3rd division even before I was a commander.
Kouji: I'm Kashin Kouji, but you can just call me Kouji. Pleased to meet your acquaintance.
Sylvana looks at Kouji who has white hair that fades into a light red near the end. His bright golden eyes were covered when he smiled at her.
Sylvana: Nice to meetcha! Sylvana's the name!
Ren: And here's Yudai, our scout. The one over there is Koto, our interrogator.
Both of them give a nod to Sylvana.
Ren: As you know I'm the commander. We do have a vice-commander, his name is Hatori Kenji.
Majiki: He should be here but he's goofing off who knows where again.. For goodness sake, you'd think that he'd be much more serious with someone who looks very well defined.
Sylvana: Well defined hmm? Is he some sort of famous good looking celebrity or something?
Majiki: Him? Celebrity? No way… Not in a thousand years.. He just looks like those super serious elegant guys you see in samurai films. But the way he is you'd never guess that he's the vice-commander.
Sylvana: Oho, he sounds funny. Is he strong? He must be if he's a vice-commander right?
Majiki: Well-
Kouji: Yes he is, but no one here has ever seen him fight.
Sylvana: What do you mean? If no one has seen him fight, how do you know he's strong?
Koto: Well you see, everytime he fights, no one is around to see it. But when anyone gets there, the fight is already over..
Yudai: Yeah, the only one that's seen him fight would be commander Ren & the previous commander, Noir Homura.
Everyone turns to look at Ren.
Ren: Well it's true, but his abilities are rather-
Right then, the system alarm turned red. A tremor could be felt as the ship shaked from an impact.
Sylvana: What was that-
Kouji: This presence, is it a magical beast?
Majiki: Getting visuals on it now. It appears to be a sea leviathan heading for our ship. Its shooting projectiles at us. Shall we alert the 4th division as well?
Ren: There's no need, I'm sure they've picked it up on their scanners as well. I'll head out to deal with it at once.
A voice emerged from the command room's comms.
Kenji: There's no need, I'll handle this. You stay right where you are Ren.
Majiki: This guy.. Only now he appears.. Confirming Kenji's position, he's on the ship's rear.
Kouji: Where were you this whole time?
Kenji: Sleeping on top of the ship, at least till this beast woke me up. See you guys in a bit, i'm coming to the command room.
Yudai: Can you get visuals on him?
Majiki: Ironically no, he's in the ship's blindspot so we can't get a visual on him. The magical beast is coming right on top of us, Kenji whatever you're about to do, do it fast.
Kenji: You don't have to tell me twice.
Kenji adjusts his black hair which was tied into a ponytail. His eyepatch covered one eye, leaving his other eye which was pitch black. Atop his head, he wore a Kasa straw hat. He raised his hand which has the crest of a World Class.
Kenji: Cut down my enemies, Raicho.
His crest glowed, a katana with a golden handguard & a purple coloured hilt grip emerged.
Kenji: You disturbed my nap so I'm going to have to cut you down, nothing personal.
He entered a sword stance and gripped the hilt with both of his hands. Mana starts flowing to the blades of the katana. It began to glow into a bright blue lightning that coats the blade. In a flash, he swings his katana.
Kenji: Dance of the Hawk - Ichigiri
For a moment, nothing happened. The leviathan stood still midair and didn't move. Kenji recalls his blade back into his crest and turns around, his long black coat over his shoulders being blown by the wind. His right hand touched his Kasa straw hat, tilting it slightly. At that moment, a singular line could be seen forming on the leviathan from its head all the way to its rear. Blood began flowing out as its body split right down the middle. The beast loses consciousness and its body falls to the sea in two parts. Kenji tucks his 2 hands into his purple kimono sleeves that bore a unique feather pattern, which he wore under his coat.
Kenji: Next time, better think twice about disturbing my nap. Well then, I guess I should go to the command room. A new member ehh? This will be interesting.
