"Yes." His reply stirred a mix of emotions in her heart.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Why?" He suddenly lifted his arms, almost cautiously pulling her into his embrace. "And what about you? Why are you seeking out a doctor for hypnosis? Are you trying to recover your memories with Garrett Vincent? Do you really hold onto that memory so tightly? You only spent one day together as kids, but now… you have me by your side."
His voice was calm, as if he were simply recounting an ordinary event.
Yet to her ears, it sounded like a chilling revelation.
He even knew… that she and Garrett Vincent had only spent one day together!
It was as if he knew everything, while she was the only one left in the dark.
Sensing her body stiffen, he tightened his hold on her, leaning closer to whisper in her ear, "Stop searching for that memory. Isn't having me enough?"
