"Vicious?" Rachel cut Ralph off coldly. "If that's what you call vicious, then Mr. Ralph, you probably have no idea what true malice really is!"
The inhumane torment she endured in prison had almost broken her more than once.
The pain she went through was something Ralph could never understand, not even a fraction of it.
"Do you really want to destroy her just to feel satisfied?" Ralph asked, his voice rising with anger.
"Wasn't she trying to destroy me back then?" Rachel shot back with sarcasm. "If it weren't for sheer luck, I probably wouldn't even be able to hold anything with these hands right now."
Ralph froze, his eyes falling on Rachel's hands, hanging loosely at her sides.
Over the years, he had sometimes recalled that scene from the past, and complicated emotions would surge inside him.
Especially after he found out Rachel had been wronged, he often wondered, if things had been different back then, would they have ended up together?
