When had there ever been fairness in this world?
Just like him, searching for that little girl for so many years. If effort and reward were really proportional, he should have found her long ago.
But… he hadn't!
It was as if that person had never even existed in this world.

"If you want fairness, then your mother slapped Rachel, right? So, to be fair, I should slap you too," Garrett said flatly.
As soon as those words came out, Danielle, Faith, and Brandon were all stunned.
Faith, in particular, jumped from her chair and exclaimed, "Why should I slap my own daughter! Just because you have money and power doesn't mean you can do this!"
"You can't slap your own daughter?" Garrett scoffed, as if he had just heard the funniest joke. "But you can freely hit your stepdaughter, who has no blood relation to you, right?"
